Even though he wrote 2x the amount they wanted. Eventually she sued for divorce on grounds of adultery, and a divorce decree was granted on September 14, 1836, the day Burr died. I think Burr went a little crazy after his vice presidency ended. I don't blame him. He was promised presidency after Jefferson's ended b/c they were so close in votes and then pamphlets came out and one quoted Hamilton and he got mad then killed Hamilton then the promised presidency was taken away.
