Katumai Posted June 11, 2019 Share Posted June 11, 2019 I just decided to do this because I can. I have way to much spare time on weekends. SO, time for some info: There is a place out there. A place in our world that is so different from what we know, that it's something we cant wrap our heads around it. In this place lives five clans of cats, all with powers that no others have. They are the mythical clans. NightClan NightClan are the most independent and mysterious clan. Common traits include dark pelts, fluffy fur, and large eyes. They also have especially good night vision, which developed due to many moons they spent living in the pine forest, a densely wooded area where it constantly looks like night. NightClan cats are able to blend in with any environment, making them stealthy hunters and clever fighters. Also due to this power, cats are not often concerned about appearances, and aren't expected to wear accessories or groom their fur. They are able to manipulate their voice to sound like any animal or cat. Because of this, some NightClan cats go their entire lives with few cats able to recognize them by appearance or voice. Uncommon/Rare NightClan traits Snake tongue Whiteout eyes Invisible body parts Venom Blackout eyes Retractable spider fangs Shadow swirls (eye type) Star pupils Leopard gecko tail Chameleon tail Scorpion tail Lizard scales Common NightClan Powers Every NightClan cat has these powers. Camouflage-Gives cat the ability to blend in with any surrounding. Can be very energy draining if used for to long. Night Vision-All cats of NightClan have very powerful night vision due to evolution of living in the pine forest. Mimicking Sounds/Voices-All cats of NightClan have the ability to mimic the voice of any cats they have heard before. Uncommon/Rare NightClan Abilities Few cats have these abilities. Teleportation in Shadows-The cat can move long distances in shadows. Can also be very draining. Manipulating Shadows-Cat has the ability to make shadows move, make them grab things etc at will. Toxic Gas-Gives the cat the ability to release poisonous gas from their fur at their opponent. If inhaled, it causes the enemy to black out, get fatigued, shut their organs down or all of those. Ranks and Rank Info Guards Guards are like warriors in battle. They're the first ones to engage in battle to try and keep the higher ranks safe. When not in battle, they patrol the area for dangers and guard the camp. Hunter They are usually the back-up in battles when the guards need a little help. When not in battle, they will provide for the clan non-stop to make sure everyone gets their meals. Hunter/Guard In Training From day one, the leader knows what a kit will be. Right after the father leaves the nursery, the leader visits the kits and gives them their ranks. Territory WIP Mythology/Beliefs NightClan cats do not consider themselves dependent or close to StarClan, and often express their pride about this. There are many different speculations as to why this is. Some say it is because they can never see their ancestors in the night sky, while others blame it on an old leader who didn't in StarClan. And others claim NightClan are merely to proud. Traditions When apprentices have their guard/hunter ceremony, every cat of the clan comes to watch them make a claw mark on the stone wall near the edge of the territory. When a cat passes away, the elders will prepare a bed moss so the cat will have a comfortable journey to StarClan. Prey Common: Lizards, frogs, mice Uncommon: Fish, voles, birds Rare: Squirrels, large birds Relations Allies: None Neutral: BlossomClan, HazelClan, CinderClan Enemies: OceanClan OceanClan OceanClan is the closest to the ocean. They are the most hostile of the clans, which is a bit unexpected when you first meet NightClan and find out they aren't even the most aggressive. Even though the clan is mainly hostile, they are also the most childish, extremely playful and sarcastic tricksters. Just ike the ocean, the cats are playful like lapping waves but dangerous like crashing ones. They have lean bodies and sleek fur, along with partly webbed and cooly colored eyes. These cats have the power to manipulate/move water, heat or freeze water, being able to communicate with a certain sea creature, and lastly can breathe underwater. Due to the fact that they are almost always swimming, the whole clan can telepathically communicate with eachother, whether they or on land or sea, they're a kit or an elder, they can do it. Uncommon/Rare OceanClan Traits Fish tail Water tail Fish spikes Snail shell Shark teeth Neck fins Leg fins Back fins Tail fins Head fins Ice horns Fish scales Seal whiskers Suction pads Jellyfish tail Armored tail Uncommon/Rare OceanClan Abilities Temperature Control-Ability to freeze or boil water, and/or turn it into ice or snow. Siren Song-Ability to lure an enemy into danger. Mostly used to bait enemies into water so they drown. Power depends on strength and/or age Ranks/Rank Info SharkClaws SharkClaws are the warriors of the clan. In battle they are the first line of defense, and patrol the borders to keep the territory safe. They are mostly larger and bulky cats with big paws. Fishers Fishers are the hunters of the clan. They hunt mainly in the ocean but do sometimes hunt land prey. They provide the food for the clan. Territory WIP Mythology/Beliefs OceanClan are not extremely connected to StarClan, in the afterlife OceanClan is almost completely separate from the other clans, but decides to remain in the spirit territory of the ocean. So instead of OceanClan cat saying they'll go to StarClan and you'll see them in the stars, they say they will join ocean and you will see them in the ripples of the waves. Traditions The Swimming Assessment-After a normal SharkClaw or Fisher assessment the apprentices of OceanClan take part in The Swimming Assessment. If it's just one apprentice he/she must start at Crab Beach(a place in the territory) and swim around the whole OceanClan island, ending at the beach in a certain amount of time will determine if you are ready to be a SharkClaw/Fisher. If there is more than one apprentice, they will race. Whoever gets to the beach first gets first pick rom the fresh-kill pile and is excused rom duties for a day. Ocean Day-Once every quarter moon the cats of OceanClan celebrate Ocean Day. The clan gathers either at Crab Beach or Stone Shimmer Lake. Five cats from the clan are chosen to put on a show using their powers to manipulate and/or freeze and heat the water. Afterwards the whole clan goes for a big swim which includes all cats ranging from 3 moon old kits to elders. When they reach a certain point in the ocean, Fishers and Fisher Apprentices unt as many fish as they can and return to the meeting point to have a feast. They then thank the ocean for all it has done for them. The Tide-When a leader knows their about to die, they make their way to the ocean as the clan follows behind. One of the SharkClaws will scratch them, and the leader will step into the water. The smell of blood alerts a shark, which will swim towards the leader and attack them. The shark eats the leader and feeds the environment. The whole clan then shouts 'Long live the tide!' Prey Common: Lobster, crab, clams, trout, cod, salmon, minnow, bass, muscles, snails, koi fish Uncommon: Seagulls, sand mice, chipmunks, frogs, tadpoles Rare: Sand shark, sting ray, piranha Relations Allies: HazelClan Neutral: BlossomClan Enemies: NightClan, CinderClan CinderClan CinderClan is a clan full of winged cats that usually have short pelts, warm or neutral colors, tufted ears, and tufted tail tips. The cats in CinderClan follow the same Warrior Code as the other clans, and even have some added rules and traditions. One such tradition is a race once a moon that helps keep up strength in their wings, and challenges the apprentices to work harder in training, for the winner gets a top prize of a week free from warrior/apprentice duties. Although there is fun and games with racing, an apprentice cannot become a warrior until they have succeeded in hunting an eagle which proves to the leader they can meal of, and defend against their most feared predator. They believe that CinderStar, the first leader, was near death when a phoenix came to her and granted her nine lives. With eight lives, she formed and led her clan. Ever since then, every leader sees a phoenix during their ceremony. Traditions The CinderClan leader will occasionally hold races between cats of each rank. Sometimes obstacle courses are even created. Apprentice's flying skills are particularly watched, as an impressive, well trained young cat may find themselves being made a warrior. Winners of races get a week off from duties. When an apprentice becomes a warrior, they must prove themselves by hunting a bird of prey. Though smaller raptors are valid, hunting an eagle or large owl is much more respectable. Relations Allies: None Neutral: BlossomClan, NightClan Enemies: HazelClan, OceanClan HazelClan HazelClan cats are very suited to life in the forest. Their territory is mostly made up of forest, with frequent grassy clearings, but there is a small grove of cherry trees. They have short or medium length fur, long claws, and long fangs excellent for taking taking down small prey and fishing. Their tails are short and fluffy. HazelClan mainly hunts mice, water voles, and fish. Although they are not to picky when it comes to prey, occasionally even hunting prey that crosses the CinderClan border. All HazelClan cats have the ability to keep their pawsteps absolutely silent, and even when they step on a leaf or a twig, no sound is heard. This makes them skillful hunters. They also have the ability to manipulate plant life, although most cats, especially young ones, cant do it very well. You cannot order an animal to do something, you may ask, but it's the animal's decision. High jumping: Ability to jump high in the air. But be careful, as one wrong pawstep can land you in the medicine den for moons. Chirping: Ability to create high-pitched chirps to lure animals, confuse enemies, or scare something away Territory WIP Mythology/Beliefs As all clans do, HazelClan believes in StarClan. Every night they rest in the branches of a large hazel tree, the starry night sky above them. They also believe that after a cat fades from StarClan, they can choose to be reincarnated as a new cat, or a new tree. This is why, when a leader or medicine cat needs guidance from StarClan, they will travel to Cherry Grove, a group of cherry trees. And that is where they will sleep for the night, hoping StarClan comes to them in their dreams. Traditions Every few moons, the apprentices will have a hunting competition. The winner gets a training session with the leader, and three days with no apprentice duties.
