Magicmoonss
Why don't bearyenas protect their prey? Tribe nichelings, rogues, and birbs all freely take their food, and they don't care. On the same topic, why aren't deer mole scared of them? I've seen a bearyena sit right on top of a burrow, and the mole didn't care. Is it because bearyenas are nocturnal? Why are they nocturnal anyways, they have no reason to be. My only guess as to why is that they're only predators (nichelings) are dinurnal.

Spacestar TheThundersuncat
I mean, stagmoles might just taste very bad. That usually stops most cats? Maybe bearyenas hunt for sport. Or not... with stealing, their eyesight during daytime could just be really bad. I guess it's not unikely that somewhere between their and nichelings' common ancestor, that they originally evolved in different, specialised places. Then wandered as things driven to wander do. But they don't exactly starve, either. That might just make it hard to adapt. Or they're not competitive enough during daytime to make the step. Are they just stronger bearyena, or are they a different species entirely? If they're close enough to bearyenas to be called a bearyena, why can't they be tamed? They could be a more aggresive sub-species of bearyena, or an entirely new species that is in the same family of bearyenas. As for taming, it could be that bearyenas and other creatures in their family can only be tamed when they are young. Maybe Killer Bearyenas have evolved to become very aggresive, to the point where they cannot be tamed to be friendly.
