Vissen stopped, before leaping into a cave less than halfway up the mountain. It looked fairly dark, and she turned to Issi. "Stay close,"

Issi nodded then pulled a face at the long jump. Don't fall. Don't fall. She lands safely on the edge of the cave. She held back the small scream of terror, before rushing after Vissen.

She tread silently into the cave, being swallowed in complete darkness before some light quickly came. What looked like sticks with grass on the tied to the walls with roots littered the tunnel, and she flinched when she noticed they were on fire. Voices came from ahead.

Issi softly walked after Vissen while staring at the burning grass. The thoughts that sprang to her mind are the two friends she had made and the small child. Now there is a day she wished went differently. Her heart almost stopped at the voices.

Vissen peeked into the next cave, where the voices were coming from. There were several nichelings. A giant rock was in the center and a teen sat at one end, looking bored with his head in his paw. He was flanked by two other nichelings, and one more was at the other end of the rock. The teen was wearing what looked like a crown of flowers, roots and bones.

"Vissen I thought you said queens ruled the place?" She whispered while peeking at all the niche in what seemed to be a royal court.

"They should..." She whispered back, squinting.

The adult nicheling at one end of the rock spoke. "Prince Haku, I suppose you know why I'm here." The teen rolled his eyes.

"Yes, I'm aware. A deal or something." He mumbled the last part.

Issi leaned a bit forward to hear and see better. "I wonder what kind of deal?" She whispered she couldn't keep the slight excitement from her voice. "Do you think he want to trade his daughters for one of the winged niche?" She vehemently whispered to Vissen.

She didn't answer.

"In a way." The other nicheling went on. "I suppose you know of my daughter, Princess Nagi."

Haku still seemed uninterested. "Yes?" He said, before drinking some water from a hollow rock in front of him.

"Queen Wirwa has agreed that you two will become betrothed."

Haku spit out his water.

"Almost right." Issi whispered. "I don't think he's going to take this so well." She looked at Vissen, "Should we stop this?" She said in a hushed tone.

"That doesn't seem to smart. This kingdom was known for showing no mercy." She whispered back.

"Uhh…." Haku stumbled over his words, staring wide-eyed. "Danggit mom..."

"Well, you see, King Fedral...I...uh..." He looked around, shifting his paws uncomfortably. "Can I not do that?" He asked sheepishly. Fedral stared at him menacingly.

"If you say so. But it would be easier to get help if we had a prince backing us up." Issi whispered back. "This Fedral seems like a nasty piece of work, right along with Akriah's parents." She leaned back as she whispered.

"We can wait until this Haku kid is alone, then come up with something. Right now it's to risky."

"You don't have a choice in the matter, prince. Your mother has given permission, so it will happen. This kingdom will need an heir." Fedral spat out, leaning forward. Haku looked down dejectedly, seemingly to tired to argue. "Yes, sir."

"I will be going then. Tell Wirwa I thank her for the meal." Fedral then ducked through a different tunnel, the two nichelings that flanked Haku now following him.

Issi felt sympathetic towards the prince. "Sucks to be him." Issi whispered at Vissen. "I'll follow your lead Vissen."

She nodded, taking a tentative step towards the cave. "Hello."

Haku jumped, his fur bristling as he stared at them. "Who are you?! How did you get in?!"

Issi held up one of her paws "No, need to fret. We're not here to hurt you." She looked at Vissen to continue.

"We saw your little conversation, sorry-Haku-was it? That can't be fun." She sat down, looking at him.

Haku sighed, still weary. "Yeah...Nagi isn't bad or anything, she's actually quite sweet, I just..." He trailed off, looking hesitant.

"Yeah. I don't." He said, still not looking up. "I also just..." He took a deep breath. "I just don't like females. I cant tell anyone. My bloodline and my kingdom would disown me."

"I see your dilemma, but it's not like two male or females can't have children." "There is adoption and if it's a bloodline thing can't your siblings handle that?" Issi thought about what they could do to help and shook her head when nothing more came to mind. She glanced at Vissen. Come on, your the smart one here.

"My father died before I met him supposedly, I'm the only child. Honestly, something never really added up when I thought about the stories of my father. Apparently his name was King Jujin." Haku looked back at them, tilting his head.

"Who are you guys anyway?"

"Eh, just seeking for some help. But we thought why not help you out while where at it." Issi really, why don't you just tell him that your friend here is a magical niche from the future and she informed me that you future wife might make things a bit difficult so we can't have that now can we. Issi berated herself and then awkwardly smiled at him. "Sounds like your mom might have killed him..." Issi you might as well go jump of the edge now.

Finch sat with his tail draped over his paws. “So.. all this is a little much.” He said sadly. “Can you go over it again?”
