They were originally described as octopi when they were first collected and discovered back in the early 1900's, but since then have been assigned to a new taxa and are classified as squids.
Goggles-kun Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 Dare I argue, that isn't a squid either. Squids have eight arms and two tentacles, large eyes, and an elongated body. That only has eight limbs, no large eyes, and is obviously fat. Absolutely not a true squid like the one pictured below.
