Ticks, like the leeches that can sometimes come and give your nichelings a disease.

Being able to bury nichelings, and put a small mound over their grave (perhaps get some nesting material or something)

Adding fallen logs to build your nest over

More ways to add height to the game, and to be able to make nests under caves, or ect. (probably not going to happen, but an idea)

If your female has a certain number of distasteful appearance traits (2-3) the rogue male won't mate with them.

A post I've said before, and another idea- Lonely ladies, kidnappers of your babies. They could spawn as often as the rogue male, but maybe take half the spawn rates off of them so the island isn't overrun.

these are really good ideas tho, the distasteful appearance for females would be cool but rouge males are probably the most distasteful thing out there so i don't think it'd work unfortunately

more height/fallen logs would be nice detail additions too, making the environment more realistic and appealing
