Yeah, I suggested something very similar too. I thought I was being original with the whole grass-layer-sight thing lol

upvoted! I like the idea of one claw being bigger than the other and the nichelings needing two cracking to collect them. but how would the claws look? would they be pointing upwards like the claw, or pointing down like the bearynea claw?
sorry for the really bad and rushed drawings, i just needed to get my point across quickly and i don't have my drawing tablet with me ;-;
Awwww what a cutie ;D

That would be quite cool but I'm not sure if it would be a bit much, the other patterns either add camouflage in one biome or don't add anything. Perhaps it could add to savannah instead so its different from the spots?
Ok, that sounds good

Maybe they could also give camo in hot climates, like the savanna and oasis too?

Since competition is a big part of animal survival, I think it'd be super cool if it was in Niche!

This should only appear in the killer jungle. Also there should be a sandbox customisation button to turn these off. I'm not that sure about the cannibalism tough.
Have my vote!
Hey, cannibalism is really common in the animal kingdom, I wouldn't be surprised if Nichelings weren't an exception

aw hell yeah

OH MY GOD IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN UPVOTE A SUGGESTION MORE THAN ONCE

It never made sense to me that blind Nichelings were virtually useless when lots of species are completely blind, like some kinds of moles and fish that live in dark places. I suggest a few different options:
- A new, cave-like or underground biome would be added. In this biome, the blind creatures roam freely with the use of scent and hearing. Who knows, maybe the Vision button would be disabled on this island to make the regular-eyed Nichelings at a disadvantage.
- Blind eyes would give the Echolocation ability, allowing the blind Nicheling to move freely. The Echolocation screen would be added to the toggleable senses, where it looks like smelling or hearing. Maybe blind creatures would also become nocturnal?
- The blind Nicheling is free to move while any of the toggleable senses, except sight, are activated.
Tell me which one you like best, and which one you think might actually be implemented in the game. Thanks for reading

YES OH MY G O D WE NEED THIS

I think 2 is a little overpowered, maybe 1 tile for one paw and 3 tiles for a set?

I think this island would be really cool if it were really big and had no ports. Of course it'd be a sort of challenge mode that you can't access from regular sandbox mode islands.

I originally had Lareko named "Sexy Beast MMMM YeE" in an early draft of this suggestion, but I removed it after I realized I would've been flagged for that lol
But albinism can be so hot in so many ways...
Lareko is s p i c y

Cool idea ;D I'm also loving your number choices lol
But in all seriousness, this would be really cool to add! If a tribe is really old, it can sometimes get confusing on what islands you're looking for, and all the important Nichelings born.

I adressed this in the logic portion - saying it shouldn't be implemented if it brought speed down to zero
Oh, ok. I'm sorry lol

I loved this idea so much I HAD to draw up a sketch before bed today I like the idea of it being an ancient gene, or at least one that's really hard to get, rather than giving it a cool down. The one I drew would, like the Derp Snout, not show what ears it has, showing the spade headpiece instead, but the dominant ears' stats would still apply, and like the Bearyena Snout it wouldn't have a mane. Also I gave it a blue toxic body because it's a squid, why not? I think the beak would be the same color as the horns, just like platypus beak and regular beak. Didn't know what to do with the suction cups, so I just made them pink in order to stand out from the rest of the body. I think on top of the spit ability it should also have +1 gathering and +1 cracking.
Jesus christ that so so scary but awesome
Also maybe the suction cups could be the pattern color?

Wait, wouldn't the bearyena hybrids have 0 speed? If you have full bearyena genes, you only have 1 speed (assuming that you have the big body on them). Minus 1 for the whole set, and that would leave your nicheling immobile.

What if all toxic body creatures automatically had bioluminecent patterns? Kinda like albinism overwrites pattern, color and eye color.
Woahhhh :DD That sounds so cool
