    Sullivain saw the arm of the Earthborn come down towards him almost in slow motion. His ears were ringing, and his hair was plastered to his forehead with sweat. He took a breath, trembling. The arm was almost at his head. He'd be dead in about three seconds. He took another breath, and closed his eyes.

    He tried again, not focusing on an offensive move, and instead, trying to sink into the shadows, trying to get away from the Earthborn. He began to shiver, from fear or because he was freezing, Sullivain didn't know. He focused on melting away, obscuring himself in the shadows, moving with them.

    God I am stupid. You're not a hero, Sullivain. This is probably just a dream. His eyes fluttered open, and to his and the Earthborn's surprise, he was standing on the other side of the hall, in a dark corner.

    Jayden saw Sullivain disappear then basically just reappear, and watched in surprise. She raises an eyebrow and just stares. I think I might be schizophrenic.. she thinks, letting out a scoff of disbelief. She takes a step back and narrowly dodges a punch from the other Earthborn (completely on accident...), rolling her eyes and raising a shining hand to it's face and kicking it back to the ground in annoyance.

    She smirks as it's temporarily blinded once again. Honestly, this was fun. I mean, these things are weak. Even a person without powers could probably poke it and it'd fall over.. she lets out a small chuckle and starts walking towards where Sullivain was, not really worried about her abilities or her safety. This was really just entertainment for her..

    However, this indifference was short-lived as she was hit harshly on the back of her head and she fell to the ground with a THUD., getting rather dizzy from the sudden attack from the idiotic Earthborn she had just kicked to the ground not long before.

     

    (If I need to remove/change the schizophrenia joke if it's too sensitive I will gladly do so. I don't support jokes about real mental struggles people go through and yes Jayden is definitely a good example of bad behavior. Do not be like Jayden.)

    He closed his eyes, and did the stupidest thing he could think of- he imagined himself ripping all the darkness from the room and slamming it at the Earthborn. He focused on the movements he made up, and snapped his eyes open. He lunged at the Earthborn.

    This is the stupidest thing I've ever done... he thought. He tried to imagine the shadows swallowing up the Earthborn, and...

    A tiny puff of black smoke was produced from Sullivain's hand. He looked up at the unfazed Earthborn, and then at his hands. I'm going to die, and the last thing I did was some cringey, imaginary fight to try and save my sorry butt.

    The Earthborn shrieked, and lunged at Sullivain.

    Jayden's eyes widen and as she notices the Earthborn lunging at Sullivain, and raised her hand to try and launch light at it, but was almost instantly slammed into the ground from her stomach by the other. Yeah, maybe she should have been paying attention. Jayden inhales sharply after the air is knocked out of her and lets out a half-annoyed, half-in pain groan. Jayden was growing increasingly mad, and she was about to get completely beaten up by some stupid ugly rock thing. As it lunges at her again, she suddenly kicks the attacking Earthborn in the Face and a medium explosion of light knocks it away.

    That was close... Eh, whatever. It's not like these things could kill me anyways.

    Jayden stood up and stumbled a bit, suddenly looking towards where Sullivain was to see what was happening.

    He tried flicking his wrists and moving his arms, doing anything to generate something that could defeat a 6 foot hunk of stone and dirt. But it was no use. He grabbed a broken piece of metal off the ground and flung it at the Earthborn. It hit the creature with a clang, and the creature just roared and continued chasing Sullivan.

    Lovely. He thought.

    Jayden notices the Earthborn chasing Sullivain and chuckles at watching him struggle, but she decides to call out to him anyways. “Hey, Shadow Boy! Try to make an orb of shadow or something! Just concentrate!” Jayden turns back and whacks a pursuing Earthborn in the face with a brightly glowing hand- then proceeds to curse loudly because it hurt her hand.

    "Again, standing right here." Sullivain rolled his eyes.

    With that, the two Earthborn next to Gaia charged at the teenagers.

    Jayden lets out a heavy and annoyed sigh and dodges backwards and to the side. At this point her veins are glowing with light- she might as well be a human lamp. She creates another orb of light and launches it at the nearest Earthborn's face, to blind them at least temporarily. She glances at the other two silently, unsure of what to do as she watches her back for any attacks.

    Sullivain glanced at Jayden. "Any chance those light powers of yours know how to defeat an Earthborn?"

    Jayden pauses and looks back at Sullivain. "Excuse me?! I'm like- I JUST got here! WHAT is happening?! I- Oh my god, whatever.. You want me to kill this... thing?"
    Jayden raises an eyebrow then smirks. "Okay, I guess." She raises her arms in front of her, almost in a battle stance, then quickly an orb of light begins to grow and she stares at Gaia, then launches the uhh, roughly bean-bag sized light orb and pushes it out in front of her. It explodes and light shatters like fireworks towards Gaia.

    Suddenly a large THUNK is heard, followed by a series of curses and there's Jayden behind them, with rather unkempt hair and wide eyes.

     

    "I'm FINALLY HE- What the [Intense amount of cursing]?!" she yelled, running up beside Sullivain and Angel. Her hands are glowing slightly as she stares at the being in front of them.

    "No one is going anywhere until we figure out this problem you caused." he hissed.

    Sullivain shrugged. "Not my problem you're a horrible teacher."

    "Try and will the shadow away. If you created it, you should be able to get rid of it too." The scientist suggested.

    "Yeah. One problem. How." Sullivain retorted. "Like I said before, you're a horrible teacher. If I don't know how I created this, I have no clue how to get rid of it either."

    The scientist stared at Sullivain with an exasperated look in his eyes. "Well, as I said before, these abilities seem largely connected to your emotions, as you created this darkness when you felt uncomfortable earlier. It's possible if you could calm yourself you might be able to remove the darkness."

     

    Jayden stared at them. "So basically, if I just get really mad, I could set everything here on fire with my light ability?" She grins. "I've always wanted to watch a building burn to ash." It's hard to tell if she's being serious or not. She is still holding the ball of light, which is slowly growing.
