I wanted to make a picture of everyone who's replied so far. It's not finished yet, but I just wanted to make sure everyone was happy with what their nicheling looks like so far.

  2. If I were a nicheling, I would be a platypus, because I have a beak for a mouth.

With lean body. I am not that thin, but I am kind of fast, and my friends used to call me matchstick on parties before. Maybe heat body...

Brown mane and eyes with normal eyesight

    Normal hind legs

swimming tail, because no other tail fits me.

Nimble fingers/ wings. It depends. I get distracted easily, so its as if I was in the clouds, but I like to write, so that could mean nimble fingers.

Big ears. I listen to waaaay to many things for my own good, An I am at home in hot areas.

Antenna. I am a pacifist, and I often see things coming that my friends dont notice.

MAXIMUM FERTILITY!!! I think, maybe. Maybe not.

And everything else healthy. After reading this I realized, I really have 0 strength. Well, I prefer my current form anyways, but the feathers sometimes get in the way.

    Volume 1 - Adam/Continue

Adam and Eve may have been aging fairly quickly, but they didn't give up and were ready to explore this vast, new island.

    image.thumb.png.2f2713427d02a4a4f3f376a7b45da1ec.png

The family settled at a spot where they could easily collect berries, while Barry agreed to go explore. Nil, Eve's only daughter, appeared to have trouble fitting in to her new environment. After all, she was born on the last island and taken to the newest one when she was only a wee kit. Eve reassured her that traveling was just part of life, and she'll find her role in this savage world one day.

Tanukir, Eve's youngest son, quickly caught up with Barry after his departure to assist him on his journey of finding more creatures.

All seemed to be well among the family. The children were getting along great, Adam and Eve agreed to have another kit, and--

Is that a goddamn blue bird.

    Eve, get your gun.

Ignoring the bird, Eve gave birth to a new kit the next day. Sadly, she died as her kit was being born and left Adam & Nil to take care of them. The new kit was a girl, and Adam named her Velvet for her dark-red fur.

    Volume One - Adam/End

    Volume Two - Velvet

Adam died of old age the following day, which left Velvet in Nil's care. She did her best to ward the blue bird away from her new sister, and actually did well to her surprise. Velvet soon got old enough to avoid the blue bird, so she and Nil decided to go find Tanukir and Berry. All seemed well until...

Thivid08, we're on a search party. Not now!

Back to Tanukir and Barry, they weren't having luck on finding some new wanderers. If there were any, they didn't seem to be interested in the two. Then, Barry discovered a tree stump, and called out to all available creatures in their area. No luck. He called out again. Still no luck. He was about to give up, until he called out one more time and attracted a female!

    image.png.c2e8431656c4ffbfcd5b9aebb01e7dc3.png

"...She's better than nothing, I guess." Tanukir said to himself. Her name was Meana, and she was very sweet. Sweet enough to be a potential mate for Barry.

    TBA!

    Sorry, I needed that nest...

And Adam's tasty soul. (One step closer to becoming the perfect being)

If you were a nicheling, what would you look like and why? What are your genes? And what is your name or generated name?

Post pics if you have the ideal creature that looks like you!

Do you have mind reading powers?!?! I was just about to write the exact same topic!

  5. I actually think that nichelings, while they may look like dogs or cats, are actually descendants of an entirely different group: The viverrids.

These carnivorians share multiple similarities with the nichelings, and they are related to hyenas, like the bearyena, which is the closest relative of the nichelings. Nichelings also cant breed with ramfoxes, which are canines, so  this makes sense. My theory is that after a mass extinction, many ecologigal niches were emptied, so viverrids were able to come down from the trees and diversify in many, many ways, giving rise to the nichelings. I also think that nichelings may be related to mustelids, because they also share similarities.

  6. So, what genes would your dream nicheling have? Mine would be:

    Platypus beak

    Water body

    Beaver tail

    Normal hind legs

Double wings or double nimble fingers

    Antenna

White fur and light color mane

    No pattern, or golden mask/stripes.

    Normal ears

And of course normal blood clotting, good immunity, perfect fertility and normal purple or yellow eyes.

  7. By the way, how are killer bearyenas born? are they a subpecies, or possibly a genetic mutation? Personally, I think it cant be a subspecies, because there are no babies, and they live alongside normal bearyenas. A genetic mutation may be the case, but then there could be killer bearyenas on other islands. I think its a behavioral pressure. As you can see, on other islands bearyenas are normally solitary, but here, there are tons of prey, so bearyenas are more common and they hunt in packs. Because of this, in order to control the pack, the strongest bearyena excretes hormones that cause its fur to darken, and it grows considerably in size and aggression. This helps it control the pack and keeps the ecosystem in balance.

  8. Oh YES! A partner in science! According to my research after watching various gameplays, I have come to the conclusion that bearyenas have a tendency to lock on to specific nichelings, only rarely switching targets unless they find a bunny. As a side note, I noticed that balance bears seem to enter hybernation once they are covered by snow, as they wont even budge. Another thing is that smelling apes seem to prefer smelly fruit over meat.

What you don't know is that I also killed some dodomingoes but what you don't know doesn't hurt anybody

I've been killing creatures I don't like since I started the game xD I remember (from a deleted save) killing a female wanderer, then the next day a melanistic baby appeared on the bones of her probably-mother. I think there was a male that I killed off around there too.. (Don't worry, I invited the baby in and she had tons of children before I deleted the save)

That comment suddenly made me think of spartans for some reason, maybe there could be a sparta challenge where you kill wanderers?

Wait, whats written in tiny letters? Something about dodomingo murder!?!?!

Nah, it cant be. Call off the ape army!

  10. I feel like rain should be most common in spring, and it would be warm, summer should be so hot it causes forest fires, fall should be hot, and winter should be... Not so hot. But well, thats probably because I live in a tropical country where there are only two seasons: Summer and HELL.

  11. woah! this tribe is so cool and colorful! But I really disagree with murdering innocent nichelings and friendly bearyenas, but everyone plays his/her own way, so im ok as long as no dodomingos are hurt. By the way Skysplash, I was sure you were a guy! (sorry)

Now Im starting to think maybe I got everyone else's genders wrong.

  12. You could also call it pacifist challenge if you decide to not have armor body. In this challenge, you are not allowed to do actions that involve strength(except destroying plants or rocks). To be honest, in this game, predators are not really predators, as in all honesty, the first thing that goes trough most player's mind the instant a predator shows up is:

KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE! (Well, not actually with fire) (Sorry for copying you Goggles)

So this challenge gives a fresh twist to the playstile. Also its a lot more dramatic and exiting for story telling when a predator forces you to flee from your base, and you are forced to seek shelter somewhere else. If you choose to get armor, the true beastmaster challenge begins, as you have to "tame" creatures by finding a use for them, for example, following ramfoxes as they hunt bunnies to get the meat. If a nicheling is chosen to become a beastmaster, it gains more prestige the more beasts he/she tames. The one with the most tames becomes the great elder and tribe leader, symbolized by his/her favorite beast.
