Have you perhaps cancelled actions (Ctrl + Z), moved parts around, placed new thrusters...? I cannot think of anything else.

I could have did a ctrl z, tho honestly I dont remember what I could have done.

I've never had inputs changed.  Are you positive they weren't always set to 'W', and it didn't take you a couple test runs to really get maneuvering and notice the problem?  I've missed thruster problems before while absorbed with weapons testing, or whatnot.

Nope Im posititve. Like Id be changing things [not the thrusters] and not adding new ones, and when Id go to test holding W would turn me left or right somewhat since some of my turning thrusters changed to W. Its hard to replicate it tho when Im not sure what caused it... but I do a lot of tinkering in test mode going ocd about a lot of things to see how it works. Maybe Im using test mode too much before quitting and saving. I usually dont change anything for awhile, and then I spend hours tinkering.

  2. After the first couple times it was just annoying. But it just happened again so I figured Id say something about it here. Happens when your in drone build mode and go to testing a few times, I was adding some rockets and then some of my turning rockets changed to work with W. Not sure why it happens but I think it has something to do with the game auto deciding what rockets activate key will be.

How about localizing logic so that a disconnected part doesn't need a splitter to act independently?

Along with permitting signals to cross a wireless part, that would accomplish what's needed here without complicating the roster of parts with similar-but-different splitters. It would keep subdrones manufactured by a factory from crosstalking, but a wireless part to trigger logic on the subdrone, letting certain signals still be effective in controlling them.

This is what Id prefer, might as well give us more reasons to use wireless receivers for things we separate that we still want to communicate with.

  4. Basically I could see some use of its current behavior. Though it'd be nice if we could use them as a way to isolate signals to just whats beyond. AKA, an empty battery signal not transmitting to the whole map just the part it was attached to. Or maybe Im just using them wrong~ it just seems like when its on everything can hear it regardless. An all or none scenario.

I think if the drone parts would each show increasing states of breakage, it'd already be easy enough to tell their status.

A little silhouette of the drone with red blinking areas could also give a general indication of where the drone is damaged.

I was going to suggest something of the same thing, having a little drone icon in the map shaped like your ship and little red areas to show damage. However Im not sure how thatd work with mini drones that arent part of your core... I guess it could change to whatever the camera is connected to. Doesnt sound like itd be something easy to do tho

I think having the option to apply fire with tnt should fulfill most self destruct needs.

Fire would be nice, but fire takes time to destroy, even at 100 power my heater cant destroy things faster than 10 seconds, which is what the limit for timers is, which is what is currently causing me some problems... Im trying to use logic splitters now to help and thats not doing it either, not that I fully understand what I can do with em. Id like to isolate a signal to a part as soon as its decoupled and its not working :/ Im not sure why this is even a thing, it would be better if this was normal behavior.

which forum would we ask for scripting help by the way? I think there should be a forum for that...

  7. Tiny heaters and such have 1k hp too. Which is why I think dynamite should be 1= Smaller and 2= have the amount of damage it does on a slider based on 500 increments, up to maybe 2k. Its dumb that things currently smaller than a giant amount of explosives wouldnt be destroyed by it.

  8. I ran into this similar problem with order of inputs when testing Entitys infinite generator idea. In theory it should work if the order worked off what I assumed would be... instead I think I need to add even more logic to add a delay. :/

I'll move this thread to the suggestions forum if that is alright with you. So other people can vote on it :)

I think triangle shapes would be useful, in this case maybe even just for simple stability, or maybe in the future for making a more slick shape so if you bump into a wall with high velocity (and flat angle), not everything rips apart :)

Sure I dont mind where its at, I wasnt sure if it was a part idea or just feedback or what. Cuz like, in general it'd be nice if we had in general just some triangle options. Like a triangle version of a thrust or triangle armor or triangle energy and fuel cells, heck maybe even triangle logic gates!

Triangles are currently under used in the game, and everyone loves triangles :p

Ah, but the wireless connector also performs the functions of a logic splitter. The on-off signal in this scenario does not receive its on pulse, and even if it did, the output would not propagate down past the wireless logic connector.

Behold! The button and two lights are all set to the same tag.

    Behold.png

Huh? This seems useful to me but... Im not sure I clearly understand whats going on or why. >.> These two blocks have caused nothing but headaches for me tho so when I thought I understood how they worked and tried to use them in a way everything just crashed and burned.

  11. i like this idea, but also propose different ship configurations or "chassis's" apply different effects. Maybe like more or less air resistance, different amounts of mass. Or a bonus to energy generation, or increased armor or weapon damage. Stuff like that. Could also come with penalties to those sorts of things. Or special abilities unique to those types of ship, for instance being able to sense where ore is, or able to call a satellite in orbit to blast something, etc.

  12. I agree with the progression idea, tho I think we should start with more options. It does seem like stuff like the shield and sensors and mechanical parts and factory and anything we can configure with options should need to get unlocked tho. I dont think you should need to unlock bigger parts tho, 1x1 block, 1x2 block, or 2x2 block, I think thats all simple enough ya shouldnt need to upgrade tho. Same with the 1x1 and 2x2 thrusters or the different size energy generators or fuel tanks. However I do believe we should have bigger thrusters like 3x1 thrusters or 2x2 thrusters, or newer generators if they ever make any, stuff like that... So those would be fine locked behind an upgrade system.

Its funny you mentioned it tho because at first when I started I thought the ticks under the planet were for some sort of leveling system and I spent forever trying to figure out what I could spend them on. >.> It definitely feels like a dropped ball tho, it should be used.

Anyway I dont think we should be limited arbitrarily in terms of how many blasters we can use at a time tho, we have a factory that prints this shit after all so once we obtain the schematics for something we just unlock the ability to use that in our builds. They're just drones after all, drones are by their nature replaceable. There seems no common sense logic behind saying "you can only make 2 blasters right now", so... even tho Im +1ing your suggestion Im giving that part a very hard no.

BlueDragon could you be more specific? What new options? Just saying “add more stuff” isn’t useful to the devs. They need to know what new stuff you want added.

For example, I would like there to be an option for wether or a decoupler detaches from its parent part or it’s children parts.

also a radius slider for TNT would be nice.

Im just pro more options generally. Options are good :p

More info would have been nice tho.

  14. Too bad we dont have a general +1 or -1 like on reddit~ heh. Ya know like, I agree or disagree, but something less than a like since Im sort of indifferent really? But Ill just give you a thumbs up instead 👍 Maybe Im overthinking the system :p

  15. Options are good. For instance some quality of life options would be nice, like being able to shift between different color resource tanks without needing to delete it and replace it along with everything that was attached to it. Or being able to shift from a small generator to a bigger generator and vice versa. Stuff within the same category you know. Im pretty sure larger shields are coming tho.
