Nope, apes can go into the ocean and cross rivers you just need to make sacrifices. Maybe a distraction of a creature without spit snout, stinky tail, or toxic body.

Apes can cross rivers, I found it from experience one side of the island had a river going through it with no trees, 2 apes ended up crossing it.

Jungles are so easy! What are yall on about? and.. snow islands are quite easy aswell!
I just started on the deep jungle and i'm around 70 + days in, and the tribe has discovered all 3 apes, but for some reason we go away! The tribe size is 17 currently. I don't have velvet paw, toxic body, big ears, stinky tail, or even lean body. Not sure how well I'll do considering our lack of jungle genes.

Oh also btw, I failed so what happened was 4 bearyenas struck my tribe who had no attack because fishing tails and swimming paws and water bodies so.. yeah..
