This topic is quite similar to this one
but I wanted to flesh it out. Right now surviving entirely underwater isn't very practical. Yes, you can get food and there are some predators, like the leeches or the razorina. But there's simply not enough nesting material, and not enough challenges with prey. I've suggested a few things,
Small beds of algae could spawn randomly, which could act as underwater nests.
We could add branches, in the water, like underwater thorns that your creatures could destroy. They would be randomly around the map and they could damage your creatures if your creature try's to destroy them. They would also spawn the next thing on the list.
A smaller predator, The eelrey. This is a combination of an eel and a ray. It would look similar to concept art of a flying snake, but the wings would be like a ray's. These would spawn in the tangle of branches mentioned above. They would bite your nicheling, and if your nicheling is on the same tile as it, it would paralyze your nicheling for one turn. They would spawn like the arctic ramfoxes, in packs of 3. Your nicheling with a fishing skill of 3 can swipe one up in one hit- nichelings with lesser skills need more turns.
A new spawn underwater- The coral. The coral only gives you 1 food, and acts as a bit of an underwater rock. A way for nichelings with the collecting skill to help more underwater, but not too overpowered.

Baby, 1; Child, 1; Teen, 1; Adult, 100; Pregnancy, 1.
Enemy, 13; Hunger, 5; Environment, 10; Healing, 4.
Genes
1 creature; whatever you want for everything but the age.
Set age to 0 days old.
World
Set food and nesting material to 10 each.
Tribe size limit of 1.
Rules
- You are not allowed to have more than 1 creature in the tribe.
- The only command you can use is 'increaseage -100' to reset your creature's age, 'removestatuseffect parasiteleech' and 'activatestatuseffect healing'
- Move islands as little as possible.
The goal of this challenge is to see what 1 creature can accomplish in Niche! This is somewhat of an experiment to see what kind of stuff you can do with unlimited lifetime and one creature. Good luck!
Would it be allowed to have one child on death, and see what happens?

From the Archipelago
Kora- the goddess or caring. She was the only mother in the tribe that would help her kids and wish them good luck. All of her kids left the island, and she helped them on their way. She would take damage for them and any other sick/ drowning nichelings. She once dived super deep into the water, taking damage from drowning on the way, to bring a drowning nichelings into the tribe. If you need courage or strength before you do an act of kindness (maybe your gonna save a wanderer from a bearenya or your child is about to go on an adventure) you pray to her to be strong and to help you. [btw this is all from a nichelings perspective) Kora has big ears, to hear her children, a claw to protect them, nimble fingers to feed them and normal hind legs to run to them
From the Archipelago
Aname- the prophet. They were having too many babies on her island and they were starting to starve. She saw new islands in the distance and declared “we must travel, off of these islands, out of this ring of islands, to new lands” she declared this when she was only about 4 days old. Her designated mate was just a grown up and his best friend was too. They jumped to the new island with ease. But she was too tiny and got drowning damage when she attempted. Her mate tried to help her but in the end they both took off almost half of their life from drowning. The food resources were starting to go up as less babies were born. A name was bitter that’s her propechy had ended up harming them both. She manages to have 4 babies with her mate (one set of twins, one name An and the other name Ame- get it?) before he passed. None of them got the fill prophet mark (a white mark right on before their purr snout) and she had too choose one that had a semi mark. The tribes food resources started to go down more as traveled less, had more babies. The prophet spoke no more and they are awaiting a sign. (I’m still figuring out their story) She was brown with lots of white spots like the stories she told were sprinkled over her. She had a purr snout to heal them with the propechy. She had a digging paw to dig out the signs and a claw to protect the stories. She hadn’t normal hind legs to try to run to the end of the propechy.
From the Archipelago
Isre- the goddess of warnings. The prophets words had not sunk in yet. Lots of nichelings (weak ones) were still on the island. Isre was just about to jump to the next island with her friend when two bearenyas appeared out of nowhere. She called a warning to her tribe, jumping to save herself and her friend, as they were both very weak. The two here has paved on the shore, waiting for them. Just then th battalion arrived, slaying the bearenyas but not before taking some critical hits. An old nichelings wo had joined them was slain. The last thing he saw before he passed was Isre’s bright orange tail disappearing into the bushes. Several other nichelings did as well. They never would have survived if the bearenyas had ambushed them in their nursery, protecting their babies. They told stories about how she only spoke to give the direst of warnings, her bright orange fur giving you the sign before disappearing with her mate. She had bright orange fur to warn them and a claw she never used.
Zyla- goddess of the harvest. (I literally made her up at school while I was bored) When a tribe is starving they are said to pray to her.If they gather at least five food on that day before praying it is said that that she will bestow 1of her traits on that nichelings. She had playtupus beak so she could feed from the bottom, ram horns for more strength, nimble fingers so that she could collect and crack nuts, a claw so that she could fish and hunt, big ears so that she could hear where the food was, berry purple eyes, hind legs so that she could run to the berries and stinky tail so that she would not get the sickness. If a worm, berry, bunnel ect was gathered in one turn unlike the odds it’s supposed to be a gift from her. When then summer months come, a tribe is destined to follow her ways and try to please her and get her incarnation into their tribe. It is said that if you get her incarnation into your tribe either during your lifespan you will never go hungry or she will bleed all the berry bushes, oceans, bunny burrows ect, dry forcing you to move to a new island. Maybe even both can happen.
I really need more gods... I have so many goddesses
btw I mostly use the goddesses from Seri’s tribes (like Meis, Yuki and Tata) and Jessi mew’s tribes (like Anameme and the balance sisters)
Man I forgot this existed, I just remembered all of my lore! Wow I love this game and it's story making potential

Three kingdoms
In this challenge there are 3 separate branches within the tribe. They all have separate goals.
First off is the kingdom obsessed with strength. They can have 9 members. They hunt and protect the tribe. Your goal is for the nichelings to be the strongest they can be. Most of their turns will be for hunting, attacking, or if the kingdoms are at peace clearing out the grass. You want them to have claws and big bodies.
Second off is the kingdom obsessed with a collecting. They’re main purpose is to provide for the tribe. They’re much more forgiving then their stronger counter parts. They are allowed 9 nichelings and you want them to be able to collect from as many different things as possible.
And last but not least, the least prominent group- The guides. They’re main purpose is to scout and find new areas for the tribe. They are allowed 6 members, and you want them to be as speedy as possible.
They mostly stick to the shadows, exploring and clearing out grasses. They are the ones to tell everyone when it’s time to leave to the next island. You want them to have the best senses they can. Now, you are allowed to have 24 nichelings. Each of the kingdoms must remain separate. Only the guides can carry messages. The only communication allowed is for breeding, or when there is an attack. Within the kingdoms, they can breed with each other. But to breed with the other kingdoms, you must wait until a gathering. This is when at LEAST 1 nicheling from each tribe comes together to breed. Have only a guide and a collector show up and they cannot breed. There is a mandatory gathering every 10 days, but if you’re in desperate need of children there can be one every 5 days.
When a child is born, it is decided which kingdom it will join. If you have more than 24 nichelings, it must be sacrificed to the cactus or poison bushes until a spot opens up. You are allowed to banish nichelings as well. Whichever child is most suited for which kingdom joins that one. I.e a child born with double running legs and the lean body born to the Hunters can be a guide. When it is time to move to a new island, you can take who you feel is appropriate as long as there’s at least one nicheling from every kingdom.
Your goal- Get to 500 food and keep each kingdom alive and well. Must stick to 24 nichelings, with 3 slots for sacrifices. Babies should count, but won’t have to be sacrificed until they are grown. Only communicate to the other kingdoms through guides, and only breed with other kingdoms at gatherings. You want each kingdom to be skilled in its trade, keeping the tribe diverse.
that’s about it! This isn’t so much a challenge as a play style but I’ve found it incredibly fun standards to play by.

You begin with two starter nichlings, the king and queen. They choose a area for a nest. Basiclly, each king/queen for the generation can choose to make a law of take away a law. Laws can be about breeding, food, exploration, etc. Basiclly you want to eventually have a bunch of sub villages and clans. You also can have other groups that are outside of the kingdoms laws, but thats not exactly as important. The rules are have one royal secret such as hemophila or short sight. Something that is not visable, but still is there. The other rule is just, grab a big island to start on.
So like you have them have short sided eyes or something? Oooh that would be so interesting, like put blind eyes in the mutation menu or breed with a rogue. This reminds me of what Jessimew did, with the bluebird leaders in Adams quest. This sounds so fun!

I have this one tribe with over 60 nichelings I think I’m close to day one hundred and I have 700 food. It makes sense as I’m on the archipelago. I think the trick is just to spread out your nichelings and get as many as possible

Floo steps over towards the strange scent. It appears to be a very tall creature. And it has little bugs crawling all over it. Whatever it is, it's not very hygienic. 'Ummm hello sir, I'm Flo...'
Akari pokes him.
'Don't assume it's a he! You might hurt their feelings.' She whispers aggressively, 'Good day sir or ma'am or whatever you like to go by. I'm Akari, and this is Floo.'
The creature stands still and silent.
Excuse me sir, but do you ever bathe? It seems there a lot of bugs on you...

Thanks! Can I ask what you like about it? Maybe for a future playthrough?
Personally I love how sweet and innocent the playthrough is it provides great lore for the founders of tribes, and it gives it a lightheartedness that I think is hard to do with niche sometimes. You just establish Floo's character so well, and it's great fun going through his journey with him. We get to see how he grows up, which is adorable. Also tysm for how many screenshots you take it helps a lot. My favorite part is Floo's fear of rocks

But little man doesn't have to be confused for long because he is distraced by clam. I think Floo's appetite has rubbed off on him.
Floo takes big sniff to make sure it's clear of danger. There's really no reason too though. This island looks like it could do less damage then a baby rabbil.
More clams AHHH!
I love the idea that he’s come full circle

So there's a mama cat in our neighborhood and a while back she was pregnant and then she wasn't. We saw one kitten a while ago but a few days ago we saw all three!! Mama's been really skittish and her kitties too but tonight they were in my backyard and I went out with chicken and threw it to them and by the time I stopped mama and the tuxedo were getting pretty close to me and looking at me expectantly while licking their jaws. Anyways, I need names for them! I have no idea of their genders except that the mom is obviously female, and the calico is very likely female as well. The tux is a PIG and eats all the food and has a big tummy bc of it. The calico isn't quite as brave as her sibling (he may not be brave though, just a food hog) but I saw her pounce on a leaf. The tabby is suuuuuuuper shy, they kept hiding under the deck and ran for cover at the slightest leaf crunch from me.
Sorry for the mediocre pic, my phone is magically not with me whenever I see them, this photo was taken by a lady that feeds them (as well as the other neighborhood cats), has a little cat house for them, spayed the mom, and is trying to capture the cats
How about for the mom Fern
For the tuxedo one Chip
For the calico maybe May
And the tabby could be Magnolia
these are just my suggestions, none of them are great, I’m sorry!

Idk if this is supposed to go here but I’m so proud of myself.
Over three hours, with no cheats in story mode I got the Emma universe achievement. It’s one of the easiest of all the genes to get, but it was hard. I had almost 100 nichelings by the end of it.
If I had any tips, it’s to get the cosmetic genes as early as Adam and Eve. I had a lot of babies so close, but without the yellow eyes or with spots.- 1
