Oh I didn't even glance at his genes whoops. I don't know what the old cracker jaw is like but I like the current one :D

Kinda related and unrelated. I was born with blue eyes but when I was four they turned green. BOOM! I want this XD

Awesome! One of my cousins was born with dark blue eyes that became brown before she was a year old haha (sorry for responding an hour after seeing your comment)

  3. This may not be necessary but I thought this could add a little touch of detail. Some animals (including some people) are born with blue eyes that later become darker as time goes on. This is due to lack of melanin that the animal is born with but will eventually gain. Domestic cat kittens, for example, are always born with blue eyes that start getting hints of green/orange/whatever adult eye color the closer they are to adulthood (this usually begins at 6-7 weeks). By the time they are adults their eyes will no longer be blue (unless the cat is supposed to have blue eyes throughout its life).

Nichelings would be born with blue eyes that they will keep through the baby and child stages. When they are teens they have a ring of their adult color around their pupil, and when they are an adult they have no blue at all. If a nicheling has blue eyes in its dominant allele then its eyes won't change of course. Again this is just a little detail and it doesn't even occur in all animals but I thought I'd still suggest it. :)

the above picture is a jaguar or leopard with melanism (black panther) and as you can see it has faint markings. thought id take the opportunity to link this suggestion which suggests faint markings for melanistic creatures https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/topic/4753-melanism-has-faint-patterns/

I don't understand. You want to take a screenshot of your Nicheling's back?

Sure if I wanted. Or from the side or above or whatever, it wouldn't just be a nicheling rotated in front of a blue background. They're small in that corner too so it would allow for better quality pictures

Couldn't you just go in the family tree and spin them around to see whatever you're looking for?

Yeah but if you can rotate them without going to the family tree then it'd be much easier to see them in detail, and every screenshot you take won't be of them facing you, giving you opportunities to get more interesting pictures. :)

Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m sure those errors exist because the Erins haven’t had a lot of time to fully develop the story/characters since they have such a short window of time to write the draft n’stuff. Maybe if they were given more than a few months, those flaws wouldn’t exist...? Then again, I’m not so sure if my speculation is correct.

Yeah I think you're right, I think they have like 5-6 months after each book? More time to write would definitely benefit the series but as it stands it's painful to read sometimes 😂

There's quite a difference still between the movie, mini-series and the Watership Down book. Although it is an older and rather longish read.
I think I only read one Horses of the Dawn book thus far... unless it was a different horse series.
I kind of wish they'd make a series for Wolves of the Beyond.

I might try it, but it isn't too much of a priority since I've already gotten Watership Down material. It'd be cool to see the differences/similarities and get more details about certain events. The first Horses of the Dawn book is about a horse born on a ship being thrown into the ocean with four other horses, and the main character leads them to their origin land, so if that sounds familiar then you've read it hehe.

I’ve heard of that series! Me as a 10 year old would’ve loved it, I bet...

You could still try it! I'm too old for all the books mentioned (except for Watership Down and Ratha's Creature) I feel, but eh, as long as the reading level is a little sophisticated and not just "The cat jumped up. Then it landed and meowed," I can enjoy it.

  9. I've read all Warriors books (including mangas and such), all the Seekers books (and their mangas), the Bravelands series (which gets really intense and compelling after book 1), the Horses of the Dawn series (by same author of Guardians of Ga'hoole), the Survivors series, the Wings of Fire series (everything, even the winglets, except for the most recent graphic novel) and I'm actually currently reading the second book in the Ratha series, Clan Ground. Phew.

Out of all of these series I'd say Horses of the Dawn and Seekers are my favorite, with Bravelands and WoF close behind. I used to be a huge Warriors fan but now that I'm older I'm recognizing plot and character flaws that bother me (and yet I still keep up to date with the books lol). So far the Ratha series is alright, hopefully it'll pick up. I really want to try the Ga'hoole series (love the movie) and Wolves of the Beyond as well. I've seen the Watership Down movie and Netflix mini-series so I don't really want to try the book anymore.

Strong voice would be cool, but I'm not sure if it would be a bit op given its already got high stats?

Yeah that's why I wasn't sure, but I don't think it would hurt since other heads have many stats. For example bearyena head has 2 strength, 2 smelling, 1 strong voice and 1 distasteful appearance, so one more +1 stat on a shoebill head may not be too much. But  ultimately it's up to you, I'd be happy with this gene either way. :D

  11. Here I am
    Once again
Feeling lost but now and then
    I breathe it in
    To let it go
And you don't know where you are now
Or what it would come to
    If only somebody could hear
    When you figure out how
    You're lost in the moment
    You disappear
You don't have to be afraid
To put your dream in action
    You're never gonna fade
    You'll be the main attraction
    Not a fantasy
    Just remember me
    When it turns out right
    ‘Cause you know
That if you live in your imagination
    Tomorrow you'll be everybody's
    Fascination
    In my victory
    Just remember me
    When I make it shine
    Reaching high
    Feeling low
I'm holding on but letting go
    I like to shine
    I'll shine for you
    And it's time to
    Show the world how
    It's a little bit closer
As long as I'm ready to go
All we have is right now
As long as you feel it inside
    You know
You don't have to be afraid
To put your dream in action
    You're never gonna fade
    You'll be the main attraction
    Not a fantasy
    Just remember me
    When it turns out right
    ‘Cause you know
That if you live in your imagination
    Tomorrow you'll be everybody's
    Fascination
    In my victory
    Just remember me
    When I make it shine
    Everyone can tell you how
It's all been said and done
And harder times will change your mind
    And make you wanna run
    But you want it
    And you need it
Like you need to breathe the air
    If they doubt you
    Just believe it
That's enough to get you there
You don't have to be afraid
To put your dream in action
    You're never gonna fade
    You'll be the main attraction
    Not a fantasy
    Just remember me
    When it turns out right
    ‘Cause you know
That if you live in your imagination
    Tomorrow you'll be everybody's
    Fascination

  12. I used to find shoebills so eerie (I still kind of do, look at that first picture hehe) but they've started to grow on me now that I've learned about them.

Anyways I was thinking perhaps this beak should also give +1 Strong voice  or whatever that stat is called. Shoebills do that loud clacking noise with their beaks and apparently moo as well, so the stat might not be necessary but will add even more uniqueness to the beak. Personally I'd love to have this gene in the game, I actually sketched it when I first saw this post a little while ago.
