The legs are way too long for nichelings, and if they were made shorter I don't think they would keep their strength. Only birds with particularly long legs like ostriches, cassowaries and sereimas are really known to use their legs to kick

I mean can't they just be folded so they won't take so much space? Maybe they could make the legs thicker/feet bigger to show their strength, which I didn't quite do here. Or they could be splayed out like the webbed hind legs so they can have space for their length.

  2. Small update, I've been playing ahead a little.

The OG three are dead. 😢 But Zatala leaves a daughter named Lenkoel. She has lean body but at least she carries big body.

First big body baby born!! Zael!! (The Za and Ze syllables I added are really showing through haha.)

The current tribe. Also a grown Zael traveling to the other side of the island to crack open an ice capsule.

Strawberry is killed by a bearyena 😭 Zael releases Caramel from the ice after unfortunately being impregnated by a rogue. The baby was born but I was careless and it was taken by a bird (I didn't get to name her Basil T_T) And again an overview of the tribe.

A more in-depth part coming soon, I just wanted to progress more!

  3. I love cassowaries so it'd be great to have something like this in-game! Imagine how formidable a cassowary-legged, bearyena-faced nicheling with ram horns would be. I feel like maybe the strength and speed should be balanced out so one has +1 and the other has +2, but cassowaries are both fast and powerful so I'm not sure.

I was going to say maybe you could suggest a cassowary casque, but then I realized no one really knows what it's for. There are some theories that its used to attract mates, so it could possibly be a horn type that adds +1 attractiveness, but again no one is certain as to why they have a casque (though it is sexually dimorphic) Sorry for rambling on haha

Nobody did. I'll try a different server later. I'm wondering what I should name my badger cub.

Snuffle. I don't know but that sounds like the perfect name for a baby badger ha

  5. I don't think this has been suggested before since I couldn't find anything, please link me if it has.

Animals dust bathe for various reasons; to rid themselves of parasites, keep insects away, dry themselves, and to keep cool/provide suncreen.

Maybe nichelings who dust bathe can keep the swamp insects away from them for a few days (maybe 2 or 3, including the same day they dust bathe). And/or be provided sunscreen if they are a hot animal for again 2 or 3 days.

This could make handling the bugs a little easier if you don't have insect-eating heads, and would help cool animals down so we would no longer have to settle with them loosing actions. Personally I like the former function more since better genes/actions have been suggested to stay cool in hot climates in my opinion.

Nichelings can dust bathe on sand or grassless tiles I guess

Edit: This could probably help nichelings get rid of leeches themselves instead of having to depend on another nicheling to lick it off

only problem with this is that creatures generally wont live long enough to see a tier 4 or 5 since nichelings don't live longer then . In fact the day they get tier 5 hump would be their last day alive. I feel it should be every 2 days instead of 5 due to the low lifespan of the nichelings

Yep I was thinking that but I forgot to change it. Originally I thought 3 but 2 sounds good. Thanks for the reminder!
