    1. you still didn't answer how it could work in Niche. I know inteligence is an important factor for animals and evolution, but how does it fit into the game concept? think about game mechanics and not just vague ideas of how things should work

    2. I am quite sure fishy meant in Niche, as in the game, it is just about the body parts and not evolution in general

for the simulation aspect, look here

    thank you

As for the guy who says body parts are all that matters, well, that shows utter ignorance of modern studies of wildlife, both urban and in the wild.  Intelligence is being selected for HARD in the modern world, especially amongst those critters most in contact with humans, or affected by human activity.  I saw someone ask for a city biome, and that's exactly where intelligence comes in.  Now imagine an urban wildlife simulator with an intelligence mechanic ...

hey dude, my favorite bird is the crow, because of their high intelligence they use to identify threats, figure out ways to get new food sorces like making cars run over nuts to smash them, dropping rocks in water to displace it and using twigs and stems to extract food(WHICH BY THE WAY COMES IN HANDY IN URBAN ENVIRONMENTS), they even make it hooked to help them out with that, F-you do you think I have zero understanding of biology, evolution or etc. I should have specified first probably that I meant in niche(because duh), you should have probably thought of the GAME when you read my section

  2. I had an idea called the flowerfern, it is a plant that grows on trees, rocks, stumps and the ground in jungle and Savannah biomes, you can sit in it, and use it as a free nest, but these are heavily guarded by dodomingoes and burrowing owlparrots, you can also pick it up and put it on your back(needs adult), it gives you 2 camouflage when worn in those biomes, for the cost of -1 in all movement stats, it also takes a hit for you, but gets destroyed after one hit, you can also break it to get 5 material and 5 food

These genes are what allow nichelings to move, see, and interact at night. Ladies, gentlemen, and everyone in between, let me introduce you,

    Echolocation head

    Bat ears

    1258079809_Batears.thumb.png.8e350dac37781db724d5a233c5a7486c.png

These are Bat ears. Bat ears allow a nicheling to hear 4 around them, but give no heat resistance(like bog ears do). theyre about the same size as big ears, and are obtainable after "squealing" 25 times (squealing will be explained in the Echolocation head) mostly cosmetic, but still cool.

    452624757_Echolocationhead.thumb.png.39b3560a7e58c0e554ff5e9e857b0b09.png

This is Echolocation head. It looks simialar to a bat's head, and when sitting in a high position (like calling) you can make a squealing noise that allows everything within 3 tiles to become outlined with green, yellow or red (much like smelling/hearing, except it is seen on seeing, so everything around is also in color.) The affect lasts until said nicheling moves from its spot. The nose also has 2 smelling, 1 damage, and distasteful appearance. they are unlocked by squealing 50 times.

    How does the night work?

Any animal that would normally move during the day, would stay still at night. Any animal that would move during the night, move according to your nichelings moves. (example, a bunnil would stay still, while a bearyena would move twice, then sleep.)

hope you like it! incase you couldnt tell, i REALLY WANT A NIGHT MODE!! its been an idea since the water update :D

The echolocation head should allow nichelings to move as far as they can hear too

or at least color it the same as the grass tiles around it

good idea, in the SAVANNAH and the MOUNTAINS, it looks the SAME COLOR always and looking at it, it looks a bit unnatural

Okay, this is just a simple one.

    It bothers me so muchhhh!
I get its like grass but

Okay, this is a half made idea, but we can expand on it.
    Here's my suggestions:
    Mouse Snout
    Further smelling, like, 3.
Mole holes themselves are lit up even when a mole is not present, and are a different color.
Roots are also a different color from just green.
    Unlockable by either:
    1) Digging 100 times.
    2) Killing 50 moles.
    3) Digging 50 times and killing 50 moles.
Hope this can help you expand!
Also, a mouse snout would be so cute! I hope we can take this idea to new heights!

couple it with round ears, it will look like this -> 🐭

  7. Also this(ties into my own ideas):

Mezmi: Hey Korais, remember that Killer bearyena we saw when we were 2?

Korais: yup, but mom lead us to the mountains from that deadly grassland

Mezmi: Korais, look behind you(use 1 claw finger to point at it)

Korais: Dammit Tata!, you and your ALBINISM!

Tata(a flying gilled nicheling in a nearby tree, also their brother): *Snickers while eating a nut*

Actually in the recent update they made plant growths come off the giant trees to allow for flying nichelings to sit on them :D I thought that was pretty cool.
What do you mean by landing on grass?
I like the idea of landing on healing plants, rocks, and bushes, since nichelings with this body are supposed to be smaller than the other available bodies.

Thanks topaz! I mean that you can land on top of grass and always be in a high position

I edited the original post to show a full body nicheling with the Type 1 wings- please check it out~! ❤️

    cool! also maybe this:

maybe nichelings with this ability can land on grass(maybe not), healing plants, rocks and bushes and gain the effects of high position, and land side ways on otherwise unlandable trees and structures(like ape trees)

  10. 🐜Ant gaster(tail in females)

    +4 fertility

-2 in all movement based stats

    +1 defense

    + venomous(because of stingers)

+ double birth(gives birth twice with one successful mating session)

    In males it gives:

    🐜Ant gaster(tail in males)

    +2 defense

+distressful scent(when a predator is nearby, it goes off and gives a notification; a <insert predator name> is nearby!)

+mortality(creatures lifespan is 3/4 the normal span)

    or

    Possibilty number 2

    Female Gaster:
    +1 Defense
    +1 Venomous
+ Replacing possibilities of offspring [instead of always 1 baby with the possibility of twins, it's always twins with the possibility of triplets]

    Male Gaster:
    +1 Defense

    +4 Fertility
    - 1/2 of the nicheling's lifespan [cannot be regained from purring or eating healing fruit]

unlock conditions: breed 150 times and unlock Clever jaw

    and also legs to boot

Chitinous hind legs(like an ant🐜, hind legs)

    +1 defense

    +1 speed

    +1 swimming

    -1 cold resistance

    +1 attack

    +2 defense(per pair)

    +1 cracking

+1 knockback per pair(knocks opponent backwards that number)

unlock conditions: walk 50 times on a beach with chitinous hind legs and eat 5 coconuts

    +6 flight

+Dive bomb(fly and attack stuns enemy 25% of the time)

    +1 defense

+clumsy take-off(the nicheling takes off and lands at the destination after 2 turns)

+ ground waddle(the nicheling can still walk, but flies to get past its walking limits)

    unlock conditions: climb 50 times

    Throwing horn(Rhino beetle-like)

    +2 knockback

    +1 defense

    -1 in all movement stats

unlock conditions: knock back an enemy 10 times

    cool details:

-Pincer paw has the pattern color on the pincer

-Beetle body has the pattern and pattern color on the wing covers(elytra), but the fur color is on the belly and pattern color on the wings themselves

-Grabber jaw has the horn color on the "Jaws"

  11. maybe it labels the islands that they came from like there is a border:

    Whale island

(Insert Family members and relation lines here)

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Current island(Burning Savannah for example)

(Insert family members here and their blood lines)
