002 has located a large cluster of the berry bushes Dianae Felivulpes seem to eat; it is currently asleep.

Meanwhile 001 has been staying put. Mid-month an unidentified small creature was glimpsed passing by it, greatly startling 001 and spurring it to start moving.
001 (Adam) on high alert
The creature was caught by the cameras, but it was too fast and all we have is a gray blur.

At the start of the day, the specimens started heading further inland. They have now split up, with 002 going northwards while 001 stays stationary (we hypothesize that 001 is guarding a food source)

Day/Month 0, start of research
Our team's goal is to learn about one of the species native to the exoplanet Diana-4 known as Dianae Felivulpes, of which we have raised two specimens in captivity from a young age (001 was taken in as a cub while 002 was already a juvenile when found). The pair, nicknamed “Adam” and “Eve” respectively, have recently been released into the wild. They are roughly twenty five Diana-4 days old (or two solar years).

Our hope is that they can adapt to their natural environment despite captivity, allowing us a closer look at this intriguing alien species so similar to Earth’s own.
The pair have taken their “banishment” from Outpost Apollo rather well and have just been brought to a relatively peaceful location. We look forward to their next actions.

Yeah so turns out Niche can be modded after all, we just needed a universal mod loader that works for all unity games.
Here's what you must do to get Niche ready for modding and also the link to the MelonLoader Wiki
REQUIREMENTS
.Net Framework 4.8 Runtime (or higher)
Microsoft Visual Studio
You can either install manually or automatically, I'll write about the latter since that's the one i know how to do
- Download MelonLoader.Installer.exe
- Run the installer
- select the niche app file found in This PC/C:/Programs/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Niche/Windows/either 32bit or 64bit depending on which version you have installed
- Select the 0.5.7 version (higher versions dont work)
(Should look like this)
- Install!
- Launch Niche to check if MelonLoader has installed correctly
If it has, a console should appear at startup
If the console doesn't appear, try to install MelonLoader in the other Bit folder
There are currently no mods made specifically for Niche, but there are some universal mods you can add instead! Like the Unity Explorer which lets you delete or add things :DD
Get the MonoMelonLoader versions and copy-paste the .dll files into the mod folder that should have appeared in whichever 'bit folder you installed the loader in. Check if your antivirus has taken the .dll files in quarantine and release them if so
That should be all, tell me if you have problems!

If there were underwater biomes, I think they should have special ports which are underwater so that you can't accidentally travel to one with unprepared nicheling's
We could also have born blind nichelings' eyes looking the same as 'normal' eyes like in real life since the cloudy white only happens if it's been damaged (maybe there could be a chance for a nicheling to be wounded in the eye by a predator and get a debuff to eyesight)

001 caught up to the creature, which turned out to be an infantile Dianae Felivulpes. 001 initiated play behavior towards the cub and was reciprocated. They were soon approached by 002, who also seemed to react positively to 003’s presence.

While too early to tell, it would seem that the two adults have taken 003 in as a pack member. It should also be noted that 003 possesses two parallel horn-like cranial structures which are not shared by 001 and 002. A subspecies, perhaps?
