  1. In my current game (I started late, so it's just the one :P), the markings I give them are based on location as well as color:

Blue on the left: Home Island Immunity

Red on the right: carrying undesirable/unusable genetics (lame paw, sterile, etc.)

Pink in the center: candidate for leaving island

Gold in the center: Community leaders

  2. 5ac06c06e89d0_bugexample1.thumb.png.ccde343246c5108c4d87e4b548da5d72.pngI just noticed while In the Family Tree that when you use the tail gene filter the Nichelings with spiky body read as not having the gene (grey circles). For example I apply the filter to see how many nichelings have stinky-tail recessive genes, and I notice the ones that have that gene and spiky body read as not having it (presumably because they have no tails.)

  3. Hoping to give my cousin a copy, she's a Chicken Smoothie fan and I think she'll get a kick out of this

Recently introduced to this game by Seri! Pixel Biologist. Being a biology major myself, this is just the kind of game I like, and I'd like to share it with my close friend and fellow biology major.

Ha I was introduced to Seri by this game! found it by looking up the "Cute" tag on steam: one of her video's is on their page (and is why I bought it in the end)

  4. one thing I think would be a neat way for nechelings to interact is to be able to have one move another. For example if you have a necheling end turn in water that turns out to be to deep for it, than you can have a buddy come by and pull em' out before they drown. Or a child is near the grass when suddenly a predator appears! so the parent pulls the little one behind them before fending off the baddie

  5. This is such a cool idea! And I really like the frog-rat design, though to be fair the original poster did say they would be part lizard so... maybe a bearded dragon? A monitor lizard might make more sense for the disease effect though

  6. I've seen it multiple times in let's-plays, even recent ones. I've experienced it first hand, as I'm sure all of you have, painfully enough. Your day is just starting, and you move to select something toward the top of the screen; or maybe you still have another game's controls on your mind and you automatically bump the spacebar. Now all your nechelings are a day older and your down another day's worth of food.

I think there ought to be a message that pops up when you try to advance when you have unspent actions. something like: "Some of your nechelings have actions. Are you sure you want to end the day?" This could save a lot of pain and let us accident-prone folk relax.

  7. I notice that there is no difference between a necheling with the derp face that has normal ears and one that has long ears. I know they already have different ear lengths, but since the stats of their genes take effect, maybe we should see a little difference on the animal? a derp variation of each of the ears, if you will.
