Exotica's Oc story - DWM

A story I have been writing on word that I decided to share with da forums. I'll post a few paragraphs a day or 2 ( they are short paragraphs ) I also put my ref sheets for the 3 main characters here so ye. Enjoy

 

[GHOSTVALK]

I looked down from atop a hill into the ocean, the sun was setting so it reflected of the sapphire blue ocean. It created a beautiful blue orange color. I noticed a bit to the right there was a strange bright blue glow from the ocean, it was too far away for me to see properly. 

I jumped off the hill and swiftly flew down to the strange light. It looked like a small pedistool with a strange blue glow coming from under it. My mum always said I was too curious and it could get me hurt someday. 

I couldn’t help myself though, I reached out and touched it. For a short moment it felt cold and smooth but then it shocked me and everything went black. I woke up in a lush jungle, beautiful towering trees, butterflies flapping around and colorful birds twittering in the trees.

“Finally, you’re awake“ Said a strange voice. I looked down and my I saw a blurry green and aqua blob but then my eyes adjusted to the light. It was a small and strange creature, I had never seen anything like it. 

“Who are you?” they said calmly “I uhh a- uhm“ I stuttered “I'm uhm Inusu and where.. are we?” I looked around, it was nothing like home, I then remembered the strange pedistool. Something must have taken me here, Jungles don’t exist back home. 

“A jungle, or my home I guess, also what are you?” They continued. I sat up. “I'm a wyvern, Flame Wyvern to be exact, and what are you?” I questioned. “I’m Lilina and I'm a Utahraptor  

“ They growled kindly. “How did you get here, I've never heard of a wyvern” I didn’t really want to tell them about the pedistool but they seemed nice enough to tell. “A- There was a strange pedistool back at my home and I touched it and now I'm here” I muttered.

“ There was a what and you touched the what what?” They growled confused. “Trust me I'm as confused as you are” I snarled. I looked over and noticed my wing hurt a bit and was slightly torn. “Oh no, your wing is hurt!” Lilina growled walking over to look at it. 

“It'll- Ow- heal in a few days but predators with get to me beforehand...” I muttered sadly. “Is there anything you can do? “ I asked. “Yes yes, we have a healer back home at our den, they can take care of you for the next few days, C’mon!”  

They pushed me a bit to where I think their den is, hopefully they aren't lying and just luring me into a trap. I tried following them best I could, but my wing still hurt a lot, so it was hard to keep up. When we got there it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. 

 A beautiful diamond stream flows down the middle, to the left there are 3 big dens with beautiful dark green vines at the entrances, to the right there was one small den full of ferns and animal carcasses and a larger den decorated with beautiful yellow blue and aqua flowers.

“Woah “ I growled in awe “This place is perfect...” I trailed off because I was mesmerized in its divine beauty “I know! I can never get over it! C’mon now the den is over here” They called, stepping across the stream and into the den next to the food pile den 

In there was a dark blue and dark purple raptor “Welcome back Lilina! Who and... what is this” They growled “Hi Yunill, my friend here Inusu hurt their wing and they are a wyvern, like those flying lizards but without front legs” Lilina growled. 

 “Yeah, it will only take a few days to heal so is it ok if I just stay here for a bit?” I asked kindly “Of course of course, come over here to this bed and I'll get you some food” Yunill growled soothingly and pointed to a soft looking moss bed. I limped over there and laid down.  

It was the softest and most pleasant bed I have ever felt. “Here “ Yunill tossed me a small bug and some berries. “I'm not too sure what you eat so just have that for now” Yunill then walked into another part of the cave. I ate the bug and berries. 

 The bug tasted crunchy and soft, and the berries were truly delicious. “Wow” I mumbled before laying by head on the soft moss bed and immediately fell asleep. I flickered my eyes open to see the beautiful night sky, I noticed the sun was coming up.

I had no idea what time it was when I got here but I had slept for a while. I then remembered my mum, my dad and my sister Illix. I miss them so much now and I can only imagine how worried they are. I cried a tiny bit but then Yunill walked in with a lot of berries. 

“I saw that you liked the berries” Yunill growled kindly “I gathered some this morning for you” Yunill gave me the berries and I ate them very quickly. Once I finished eating, I said, “Thank you” Yunill walked into the other part of the cave holding a dead bug  

“You’re welcome!” They called back. I watched the sun rise, the beautiful swirl of light yellows and gold mixed with the lavender purple and navy blue was just a wonderful sight to see. I got up and limped over to the diamond blue river. I bent down and started drinking. 

It felt so clean and refreshing, once I finished drinking, I went back to the den and the unbelievably soft moss bed and fell asleep. The next few days were just the same and it started to get boring but then my wing finally healed enough to fly.

I woke up and looked at my wing, it looked basically fully healed except for a small scar. I ran out and jumped into the sky, I flew in loops because I was so happy, I could fly. I shot fire into the sky happily and landed back down at the healing den in front of Yunill. 

“Thank you so much Yunill, I don’t know how I can repay you!” I growled thankfully. “You don’t have to! I'm just glad you are ok” Yunill growled. “HEY INUSU” Lilina called, running over. “Since you’re all better now, wanna go hunting with me?” Lilina asked. 

“Of course! It would be nice to start moving again” I roared cheerfully and started following Lilina into the jungle. We came across a cow and slowly snuck up on it. Lilina beckoned me to attack it, so I jumped out while breathing my fire on it. 

It tried to run away but the flames burnt it before then. Lilina emerged from the jungle bush. “Woah, that’s so cool! Breathing fire and flying is so cool!” Lilina shrieked. “Hah, it's nothing really, it's pretty normal once you get used to it” I giggled.

“Heh” Lilina grunted “Still really cool.” In the distance I heard distressed roaring “Do y-” “Do you hear that?” Lilina cut me off “Yeah” I murmured. We were at the edge of the jungle and there was a hill with sand on it. 

 “Must be coming from the desert, at least it's not our problem” Lilina growled, turning around. “What if someone is in danger, we have to help them” I shrieked. “Ok ok, I'll tell the others we are going to the desert because something's in danger blah blah”  

Lilina sighed, walking off. “And stay here” She added. I sat there and it felt like an eternity when it was only one minute. I sat up, just before I turned Lilina emerged “Alright let's see what's happening” Lilina said joyfully.  

We tread slowly and carefully up the hill as to not be noticed. I camouflage quite well with my vibrant oranges and yellows, Lilina on the other talon... Not so much as her dark green scales and light aqua feathers. I noticed

She hid under my wing as we approached. In the distance I saw a large feathery raptor-like creature making the roaring. “A Yutyrannus, young one too” Whispered Lilina “Young!?” I whispered back in shock. 

“Yeah” Muttered Lilina “They grow pretty big.” The Yutyrannus must have seen us because they started stomping towards them.  “EEK” I roared, shooting up into the sky “No no no I won’t hurt you!” They roared, coming to a stop about 30 metres away from Lilina and I. 

“My name is Euxshau, can you please help me find my family?” It groaned sadly, looking down at Lilina and then looking up at me “Also what are you? I’ve never seen anything like you?” I flew down infront of them slightly kicking up some sand as I landed. 

“My name is Inusu and I’m a-” I growled before I was cut off by an explosion. I whipped around to see an explosion not far from Lilina’s home “YOUR HOME!” I roared in fright. “MY FRIENDS” Lilina roared in pure rage “EEK AN EXPLOSION” Cried Euxshau.
