Ages and longer lifespan

We have 4 basic ages now. Baby, child, teen and adult. They are cool, but I think the lifespan could be a bit longer. For ex. the baby stage lasts only the day they are born. The child lasts only 1 day and etc.

I thik that the baby stage could last about 2 days, so that their parents can care fot them more. The child stage could last about 4 days, and the teen and adult can be the same.  In the child stage, some nicheling can teach them things like collecting berries, digging and etc. depending on their genes. If the child does it 3 or 4 times, they can do it.

The elder stage, that would be new, would change the appearance of the nicheling, and they could move slower.

This would probably work just for story purposes, but I think it could be nice.
