This sounds like the challenge for me! (I have a terrible habit of just continuing to have nichelings have babies until one is perfect and let's be real there's no such thing as perfect)

I'm playing a save file with custom settings for a max tribe of 30 nichelings, but I'm now up to 31 and it isn't stopping me from setting down nests or breeding or anything. I've attached the save file here

Have you restarted both the game and steam itself? I know in 1.1.5 when I first put in the colour codes, they didn't show up until all of a sudden they did after I restarted the game and steam

Oh. Perhaps he legally changed his name and doesn't want to be a boy.
I would have really appreciated that tbh, I was so low on girls and his immunities were so perfect...

Did you switch the nicheling's gender at all?
Nope, I don't use the console at all (mainly cos I don't really know how, but also cos I can't be bothered) I guess his parents just really wanted a girl

I'm pretty sure it's your eyes. OR IT'S THOSE STINKY FRUIT TREES!
It's possible, I've moved from First Snow to a swamp and the colours are normal again...

@Bananananannanaannana to get to properties, you have to right click on Niche in the steam menu on the left hand side and it's all the way at the bottom

Thank you! Though that wasn't exactly my issue. I should've explained it more clearly. I cant find any folder for this on my computer. I've tried searching for the file and have been going through my computer and cant find anything! I'm starting to get worried I may of downloaded the game wrong.
Okay, so I couldn't find it anywhere either. There are two ways to find it that I know of for PC (no clue on mac sorry)
First, in the search bar, type %appdata%
From there, double clicking on this folder (at least for me) took me to appdata - roaming. I clicked on the appdata folder at the top bit and then had the option to go to locallow and the team niche folder
The method I used though, was from the file explorer, click on 'this pc' and search 'locallow' it'll take a while, but eventually should turn up a file and from there you should be able to find the team niche folder and then the folders I showed above.
If you need any photos of that process just let me know

I decided to try turning off blue birds (because I find them a visibility issue) and I keep hearing the bluebird spawning noise even though none are appearing. Also it seems like other creatures just keep vanishing? I had a wanderer disappear but I thought maybe I just couldn't find her, until I also had a friendly bearyena disappear and a baby bearyena (both didn't move overnight like they normally do, just vanished, nor could I find any meat piles to indicate they had died)
I've included the save file this happened on

I don't know whether this is a bug or as intended, but I noticed that only nichelings with the insect collecting skill can actually collect insects, which I feel will make it kind of hard to unlock these genes without getting lucky with wanderers or starting specifically with insectivores
(Also I know this isn't a bug, more of a balancing thing, but I wish the bat wings had a 1 in collecting, because there is nothing I love more than pictures of bats holding things and it makes me sad that nicheling bats cannot cuddle things)

But I don’t see any bearyenas! Were they not invited?
....I totally forgot those were things that were meant to be bear related...

SHE LOOKS LIKE EMMAI BUT DIFFERENT COLORS AND JUST ONE CLAW AND NOT BLIND AND AS A TEEN. Big nose + Big Ears + claw + ram horns = Emmai. Is this the second reincarantion she's had?? (the other was in my Annini's Gifts tribe)
That's awesome! I haven't had any reincarnations before!

I just realised, the gene unlocked alert pop up is only showing up once I enter the mutation menu, rather than popping up when the gene is actually unlocked

I can't for the life of me edit these files even though I really want the new colours. Where are they located? I am not very tech savy.
This is what mine looks like

It took a while but then it brought up the folder 'locallow' in AppData and from there I just clicked on the bit that said Team Niche

Meanwhile, Selene and Jacob find themselves lost and confused in this strange world. Though these forms resemble their true ones, Jacob morns his wings and Selene her claws. The strange creatures they are travelling with do not seem to understand them, nor can they understand them. Everything is strange and different, but one thing remains the same.
There is danger all around them, and if they want to survive they will need all their wits and be ready to adapt and change.
They will also need backup. And so Grayson is brought into this world.
Together they quickly neutralist their first threat and scoop up the delicious food.
Drawn by the scent of food, a young wanderer appears, and though Selene cannot communicate with her, her strength is apparent and Selene invites her to the tribe by offering her some food

A strange bat faced baby is born to our two cracker jaw creatures. Though they are unsure of where this strange face came from, they love him and welcome their health baby to their small tribe. In truth, they do not think of their companions as tribe mates, for they talk in strange tongues and hold themselves apart from the rest. It isn't until he is much older that T'aelis and Supripri discover that though he looks healthy, their baby is completely blind!

I realised that with the new ability to create custom nichelings, I could do a play through with the first characters I ever created. Introducing Selene and Jacob!
We're also going with blind genes mode and two randoms because why not! I've already broken blind genes mode once, I'm interested to see if it happens again.

Worst Glacier Luck
in Discussion & Feedback
Posted
I have now opened five glaciers and gotten four nichelings with the megaloceros horns and one with the mammoth foot. I'm just about ready to rage quit the snow lands all together. Please sure with me your tales of bad glacier luck so I don't feel so bad
