  1. I figured that this might be a more appropriate place to spam my playthrough of the challenge I created (link below of course). And I just prerecorded like 9 episodes because I'm sick and have no time during the week between school......

    Also this post is of ep 3 because of laziness, but the other post with the rules has ep 1 and 2 linked. >.<;

When i first read 'Pokemon Shield and Sword', I thought 'oh fangame'. Then I look at YouTube and OH THAT. I like Grooky the best out of the three starters :)

Scorbunny for me. It's always the fire starters. Just hope this one isn't fire/fighting too lol

  3. So On the left is obviously our original and current mutation menu... But if you're like me and have some mild OCD, you might find it somewhat a pain to have to sift through all of your genes at once searching for whatever it is that you need at the time.

I don't art, so it's very crude and rudimentary, but I thought that a tab system based on the different parts of the body might be a good idea. I searched through the forums and found a lot of suggestions for family trees, and these tabs are somewhat inspired by all of those organizational suggestions.

The tabs themselves are pretty self explanatory, but of course the names are/can be changed to whatever the devs want them to be. That being said, we could also have smaller tabs to fit more customization things such as your favorite traits, only including the ancient genes found in the glaciers etc. Or you could have a tab with ALL of the genes as we do in the current game with a randomization button so we could do things like the random genetics challenge.

I think that's all I have for ideas on the tab system now. Fell free to give me suggestions I can edit in too!

Wait... is the look of the rouge male whats 'more aesthetically pleasing'?

I was thinking more that if you reeeaaaallly like the female that was born into your tribe that you would intentionally ruin the genes for the sake of being frustrated XD

  5. So... I have Windows 10, a new computer, and steam is updated... But I noticed that the icon isn't showing the default image, but instead is replaced with an image of a globe... Didn't know if this was something I was doing? I started the game, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary (it loaded fine, I was able to access my saves). So I restarted my computer thinking maybe it needed an update to its software, but still nothing. Haven't seen anything like this in the forum yet so thought I'd let you know. ❤️

EDIT: I've also tried loading a new desktop icon from steam... I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling since that didn't work.

Whenever I read “bad boy” I just think of a creature wearing a leather jacket and waltzing down a bad neighborhood, with a hot creature next to him.

Yup! That's what I picture. like Danny from Grease XD

  7. So.... I wanted to do something weird, and I hadn't found anything like this in the forums or other google searches that encouraged bad breeding... I'm always caught up trying to make perfect genes, and so playing this was actually really refreshing. I had the change to stream this last Friday during the promotional sale on Steam, and I can't remember laughing so much. I hope you guys enjoy this, and I'd love to see your love-children or any suggestions you guys might have in regards to changing the rules or adding clauses etc to them.  ^^ ❤️ Kat

Kat Tails presents: The Bad Boy Challenge

    For

    Niche: A Genetics Survival Game

Made specifically for Kat Tail’s first official Niche Steam Stream, the Bad Boy Challenge is meant to be humorous but still challenging for both n00b and pro players.

Focused on working around the (usually)useless traits that Rogue Males bring into the mix. In the past, these Bad Boys have been pests, crimes against the genepool, and precious females needed to be protected from them. But no longer!

Rebel against your better instincts and get with bad boy Kyle or dangerous Keith, Fabian the rake, and more unforgettable one-night stands! Your parents will never approve of these summer flings, but it just makes the romance all the sweeter. /endcringe

Enjoy the hilarity and see what amazing creatures you could create when whirlwind romances take over your nichelings and genetics alike.

    Rules:

    1. If a rogue male enters your territory at least one female must find him irresistible and breed with him.

    2. The more aesthetically pleasing your nicheling is (subject to each person playing), the more likely they are predisposed to seeking out a rogue male and to breed with them.

    3. If a rogue male is present, no other males may be bred with.

    4. Because of rule 3, males under your control may kill rogues in order to win a chance at breeding, but you are not allowed to move your females before your males if you are trying to do so.

    5. Males who land the KILLING BLOW on Rogues can be marked and deemed as an even “Badder-Boy”, able to breed with females even if there is a rogue in the territory.

    6. If you have a female that is pregnant with a rogue male’s baby, then you do not have to breed another female with them this turn. That being said, the female must have her baby the following day or as soon as you are able to build a nest. No “holding it in”.

    7. Since friendly bearyenas are a rarity they can be mated with even if a rogue is present.

    8. If there are no rogue males present, you must seek out a tree stump for your females to call out on or leave the island as quickly as you are able. (Rogues do not usually appear on easy islands or breeding islands)

    9. For added difficulty, start your game in a hard island or a killer island. Whale Island is also acceptable as the Rogue males tend to appear more frequently there.

    .

***As a side note, I’ve scoured the internet for anything similar and haven’t seen any like this, so if you could, I would appreciate credit as well as a link to my YouTube channel.  Happy gaming! (this is also available in DOCx format if for some reason you need it????)

  8. Oh, I like this idea. This would be so much fun. As a tweak, perhaps they would be like the Rouge Males, but as baby kidnappers they would be Rogue Females. Then their behavior pattern would be:

    1. Hanging around nests like dodomingos. Rogue females are unable to be recruited into the tribe.

    2. Kidnap an unattended baby.

    3. Once a baby is acquired, the Rogue female behaves like a mother bearyena with the child following behind her.

    4. You can take the baby back by killing the female and offering the baby food.
