(basically we get there because of the heart of the sea, but it doesn't really say how, so it's jsut as vauge, but it could be that waves take us there. Or a magic whirlpool that appears from any source of water and leads us to the ocean even though it's not connected.)

We haven’t gone to find home because our sign of direction has been all jumbled and we lost our compass

i'm not sure about the others but i have a tent and know a lot about them. tents will eat pretty much anything that any other house would, but that doesn't mean you should let them! don't let them eat hard foods like stone, wood etc as it can be bad for them, and of course don't feed them rotten flesh, though they tolerate it much better than other houses. the healthiest for them is polyester but it's good for them to have a diverse diet like wool, nylon, cloth, etc,
this is minecraft. There is only wool, no nylon, no cloth.
I'm pretty sure they still need wood or stone, just less. Can they eat leather or string? what about moss?

well then what is? We need to find out why we can't get back, and more importantly, why aren't our characters looking for a way home, have we given up? if so, why?
