Nothing came crashing behind you... Slowly the overpowering musty scent dissipated.
Mist kept running until the smell was completely gone, and until her paws started hurting, only then did she stop to rest.
Placing the cub down in front of her, she gave it a nudge. "Hey . . . kid, we're safe now. Are you alright? . . . Are you even awake?" She could see that it was still breathing, so that was good.

"Screw it," Mist thought, and started running to the best of her ability while holding a cub almost her size.
"Maybe, if I'm lucky, I might be able to find someone else who'll be able to help. For now, I just need to stay outta this things reach . . ."

Deciding that the creature was, in fact, friendly, Wulfy shuffled himself down into the nest. He was feeling a bit tired from all the excitement so far today.

Mist let go of the beast's leg, darted back over to the cub, and picked it back up.
Hopefully that bite would distract the beast and catch it off guard long enough for her to get herself and the cub outta here . . .

With a grunt of effort, she pulled the cub behind her, setting it down, and putting herself between the beast and the cub; this thing wasn't gonna get to the cub if she could help it!
With a growl, she lurched forward and sunk her teeth into the beasts leg, and holding on with her claws.

She didn't want to risk dropping the cub, if she did, the beast might try to snatch it. So she kept trying to drag the cub away.
[Also, sorry if I just don't respond for long amounts of time, I had surgery yesterday to get my wisdom teeth removed, so I'm in pain city right now and am most likely just going to sleep for the next week or so :, ). I'll respond when I can]

It had a strange and frightening smell...but also...it smelled kinda like berries and something else. And smelling it made his stomach growl.

Glancing up at the creature, he debated on trying to take it. It did look like the creature was offering after all.

Out bounded the brown creature, it dragged behind it a smaller white and red creature. The red on the creature looked...out of place. And you noticed some red on the brown creature too. It stopped at the threshhold to the nest and said, "yip?"
Wulfy stared at it for a moment . . .
It didn't seem aggressive. Taking a cautious step forward, he sniffed at the white thing it had brought with it.

Its brown, shaggy, and tangled coat was speckled with bright red. It let out something between a whimper and a growl, its eyes gazing into yours
"Um . . . h-hello?" Wulfy whimpered, taking a few steps backwards. He didn't wanna take any chances, better get a bit of distance.

It looked kinda spikey, she didn't wanna accidently stab herself while trying to get any of the berries from it. Maybe she'll find something that would be easier it get food from.
Continuing to walk, she kept her eyes, ears, and nose out for anything she could find.

"Gobble gobble!" you saw an odd looking creature. It was grey, had pointy, yellow snout...it was half the size of your mother, but twice as wide. It's tail fanned out in an odd manner.
"W-what? What are you?" He asked the strange creature. He had never seen something like it before, was it friendly? It seemed to be, since it wasn't doing much of anything. He tentatively reached out a paw to poke at it.

In her attempt of yanking on the berry to get it off the bush, when the berry came loose (from the force to get it off), she sent herself rolling backwards. At least she got the berry, she supposed.

Your surroundings were...different rhan you remembered. There was a berry bush that wasn't supposed to be there, and the nest you now slept in had speckles of moss and seemed sturdier.
You smelled nothing unusual, but nothing familiar either. You didn't smell the salt of the ocean or the scent of other cubs. Your mother was not seen or scented.
"Weird . . . this, this isn't my home . . ." Mist thought. She looked around in confusion, which turned to worry.
She was in an unfamiliar place, with unfamiliar scents, and without her mother . . . and she was starting to feel hungry; not a good combination. "Well . . . at least there's some berries nearby . . ."

"Alright, um . . . I think I saw that thing swipe at you . . ." Mist said. Walking to the other side of the cub, she saw the wounds. Leaning down, she started to lick them, have to make sure they're clean she supposed. Once satisfied, she laid down beside the cub, and wrapped herself around it to keep it warm and comforted.
"Now what am I supposed to do . . . ?" she thought. Resting her head on the cubs shoulders, she decided to just keep a look out for now. She had tired herself out from her long walk and then the encounter with that beast . . .
