  1. Anyway I just discovered what Dyson Spheres were and ohmygod my mind is blown, if you don't know what Dyson Spheres are this video can tell you all about them (this is the one I watched and discovered them with too):

Please tell me I'm not the only one with a strange passion for Dyson Spheres and cool science thingamabobs because WOO SCIENCE and also scientific breakthroughs and the fact that Dyson Spheres could produce so much energy if the human race ever succeeds in making one (probably not in my lifetime but whatevs they're still cool)

Hi, I was just wondering if it's normal that I couldn't see my tag as a niche mobile tester? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I can't seem to find the pinned post either (is it in announcements?). I'm assuming that you can probably see a niche mobile tester tag on me and that I can't for whatever reason, and that I'm probably looking in the wrong place for the pinned post, but I just wanted to ask if you could tell me where the pinned post is? Thanks!

Ah that makes sense, that's probably a good instinct.

Yea, I'm really glad that these didn't end up too OP, so I think I've pretty much figured out these stats.

Anyway, please tell me if you have any more suggestions :)

Yeah, I don't know myself. five is probably a good number, maybe increase the distasteful smell by one?

I was thinking about increasing the distasteful scent, but I saw that the stinky tail only had 1 distasteful scent (I'm pretty sure) so I thought it would be weird to have more than something name 'Stinky tail'. I'll check the wiki again to make sure tho

Well, if only one or two nichelings can fit up there it should be fine. They can still reach the bottom poof where nests would spawn. I think that should also deter them though. Like if there's nichelings on the ground they should go after those first. Unless the ones in tree are only one around. The jungle is a challenging biome so I'm not too worried about the tree being OP.

Ok, thanks! (And yes, just to confirm, only two nichelings in total can fit on the tree at a time, with only one of them being completely safe. I really like the idea of them being on the tree and detering apes, who would go for the ground nichelings first (unless there aren't any ground nichelings, of course)

Edit: Ok, yep, the stinky tail only has +1 distasteful scent

The ladybug wings still seem op to me, especially since you also get a distatasteful smell. But I don't think you should decrease the regular bug wings anymore, and that's a good ratio between the two, so IDK if you should change anything

Hmm... do you think I should change the ladybug wings to be 4 or 5 flight? Maybe less but I feel like that would defeat the purpose and people would just go for the regular bug wings instead? Not sure yet, I'll change it to 5 for now but please tell me if you have any more suggestions with the ladybug wings. Thanks!

This is a great idea! Will give more use for wings and may make it easier to survive in jungle. Upvote :)

Thanks! I was a bit worried that it'd be a bit too OP (if your nichelings had wings) because the apes wouldn't be able to get to the top of the tree, but I'm glad to know it isn't that OP.

The stats for the regular wings is 8 flight if paired :D

I actually didn't know this either! Thanks for telling me. Now I can accurately change the wing stats (which I'll do right now). Please do tell me if the stats are still a bit OP, tho.

  9. So this idea of a tall tree is made mostly for the deep jungle island (0-2 tall trees per island), and maybe the jungle island (0-1 tall trees per island).

The idea is for the tree to be 2 stories tall, with one small branch with a 'poof' of leaves at the end of it branching off of the main tree. The poof acts as a tile, and occasionally spawns with a natural nest. To get to the highest point in the tree (the top part) from the ground right next to it, you'll have to have some sort of wings (feathered wings, bat wings...). If you have any of those, you'll have to use 2 moves; one to get to the branch poof, and the other to get to the top. The apes can still get you if you're on the branch poof, but they can't climb or fly so they won't be able to get to the top part of the tree.

Concept art (ignore the wing concepts, those are on another page here):

Ok, now here's the concept art:

  10. I really like this idea! I think it's a bit complicated, but it's cool!

Depending on the size of the hummingbees (I was thinking they'd be smaller than nichelings), maybe nichelings could get the hummingbee genes by interbreeding with them? If the hummingbees are around the size of a nicheling (maybe a bit smaller), then they could interbreed normally. However, if the hummingbees are much smaller, I was thinking that there could be abnormal hummingbees, ones that were much larger (a bit smaller than or the size of a nicheling). I think this would be cool because it's a bit random chance, like having baby bearyenas show up to tame and get genes from.

One other thing I thought of is that, since bees have six legs, maybe the hummingbees' hind legs could be hummingbird-like (like the ones you have in your drawing), while they also have four smaller legs on the front of their body. If this gene was transmitted to a nicheling through interbreeding, one hummingbee arm/paw/leg on a nicheling would be two small vertical ones on one side of the nicheling's body.

    Four front leg stats:

    - +2 nectar collection

    - +1 collecting

I also attempted to make art of a hummingbee with the four front legs (I didn't add any color, but I hope you like it):

Anyway, sorry for rambling, overall I think it's a pretty cool idea!

  11. Wings

I came up with something random recently and decided to post it on here. Please tell me if you have any suggestions for this idea!

Ok, first the wings. I had this idea around a day ago to suggest a pair of wings that wouldn't take up a paw space (like regular wings or nimble fingers). This is so the nichelings would get to use their hands and be able to fly (they would probably be less powerful than regular wings, though, to have a slight trade off). This idea is... *drumroll please*...

Bug wings! I thought these would look pretty cool, and kind of fit the jungle vibe that I wanted for them. I came up with some that looked a bit like dragonfly wings, and one that looked like ladybug wings (because they're so unique with the spotted (usually) red shell and everything). I'll list the possible criteria for the bug wings and ladybug wings here:

    (Regular) Bug Wings:

    - Invite an animal with these genes to your tribe

    - Spend 30 days in the jungle/deep jungle

    What they do:

    - 4 flight

    Ladybug Wings:

    - Invite and animal with these genes to your tribe

    - Spend 50 days in the jungle/deep jungle

    What they do:

    - 5 flight

    - 1 distasteful scent

(apparently ladybugs smell bad when squished)

ALSO PLEASE READ: Since I've fixed the amount of flight the bug and ladybug wings do, I want to say that, since the wings don't take up a paw space (like regular wings), they also don't come in twos (what do you think about this? I might change it later), so for now, the flight mechanic is the 'total' flight amount given by both wings, since you can't have just one.

I also have concept art for this, so I'll put it here (ignore tree concept, I put those together but I'll make a different post for it that I might link once I finish if I can edit the post afterwards):

(Also, please ignore most of the text on the concept art, because I might've changed something. It also says on the art, "Both bug + ladybug wings work the same as regular wings", but I hadn't included the stats yet. Yes, although they do work the same since they both fly, they don't have the same stats).

Anyway, please feel free to include other suggestions, comments, or anything else (please tell me if these seem too OP, too)!
