  1. Most of Blossompaw’s first patrol consisted of Robinbriar being excitedly bombarding with a million questions about being a warrior, from questions about training to patrolling to even things like following the code no question was left unasked. Robinbriar was doing her best to answer the apprentice’s many questions but the pure number of them made it almost impossible. The sight of a nicheling suddenly jumping out of the grasses caused both clan nichelings to startle and unsheathe their claws in case of hostility. The unknown nicheling looked up and jumped back as she saw the unsheathed claws on the two clan nichelings. “I’m not a threat!” The spiky nicheling said with alarm as her quills stood on edge at the unknown intentions of these nichelings she just met. “Why are you on clan territory?” Robinbriar asked as she smelled the air for any sign of another nicheling seeing as this young nicheling seemed to be alone. The unknown nicheling’s ears lowered as she debated just lying but decided against it. “I’m looking for my parents, they told me to run because of a bearyena but I haven’t found them since” The nicheling said as she glanced behind her, as if her parents would magically appear. Robinbriar’s face turned to one of sympathy and she realized what probably happened. “Well you could stay with us in our clan especially since you’re so young” Robinbriar said as she watched the unknown nicheling for her reaction to the offer. “But what about my parents?” The nicheling said as she looked at the older nicheling with doubt. “We’ll keep an eye out for them and if they come looking for you we’ll send you off with them” Robinbriar assured the quilled nicheling which seemed to make her consider the clan nicheling’s offer. She wanted to keep searching for her parents but the thought of running into a bearyena was terrifying… “…Okay” The nicheling agreed making Robinbriar’s posture relax as she realized the young nicheling wouldn’t be fending for herself. “That’s great! Now you can train to be a tough warrior like I am!” Blossompaw exclaimed as she got closer to the unknown nicheling, who startled a little at the sudden volume but quickly calmed as she realized that Blossompaw was just excited and not hostile. “Warrior?” The quilled nicheling said with confusion, having been a loner all her life. “You get to fight and hunt and do all these cool things!” Blossompaw replied excitedly making the quilled nicheling hum in thought, it sounded interesting and if she gets stronger she could fight the bearyena herself. “Well we should go introduce you to the rest of the clan uh…” Robinbriar paused as she realized she didn’t even ask for the young nicheling’s name. “What’s your name?” She asked as she glanced at the quilled nicheling. “Crow” The unknown nicheling spoke making Robinbriar nod. “Alright Crow, well let’s go introduce you” Robinbriar said before turning around and making her way to camp, with the two younger nichelings following close behind. CanaryStar easily accepted the young nicheling into the clan, as expected, but first ordered the clan to get her some food and let her rest until the next sunhigh so she would be more ready for training when she got her mentor. So Crow was currently laying on the ground, she refused to take a nest despite one being offered, with Blossompaw practically buzzing around her. “So what do you think so far? Isn’t it great?” Blossompaw asked as she continued to pace circles around the newest member of the clan, who had stopped watching her pacing because it was making her dizzy. “It’s okay” Crow answered honestly as she would prefer being with her parents but it’s not like this place was a bad place to live in. “Well maybe your opinion will improve once you start training! I mean it’s so exciting to learn how to fight and hunt so you can be the best warrior in the clan” Blossompaw said, not at all bothered by the lackluster response from Crow. “Not to be rude but don’t you have someone else to talk to?” Crow asked, she didn’t dislike Blossompaw’s company but she did wonder how she could talk for this long. “Nope, Twigpaw is grumpy lately and he’s busy because he’ll be a fully grown warrior real soon” Blossompaw replied as she momentarily quit pacing to glance in the general direction of said apprentice, who was currently getting ready to go on a patrol with his mentor Daisyfall. “Oh” Crow simply responded as she had been introduced to everyone but wasn’t really good at memorizing names. “Well I wanna sleep” Crow said making Blossompaw let out an ‘oh’ as she realized she must’ve been tired. “Oh okay, goodnight!” Blossompaw said which Crow nodded at before the more energetic apprentice left. The next day it was time for Crow to be officially made a part of the clan, and that meant getting a new name and a mentor to teach her the ways of clan life. “Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and defend this clan, even with your life?” CanaryStar recited the words while Crow slightly cringed, not really liking the thought of being bound to this clan but Robinbriar’s words echoed in her mind and made her confirm it. “…Sure” Crow’s response wasn’t as sure as clan nichelings would want it to be but CanaryStar realized it probably unnerved the former loner so she easily let it slide and continued. “Then by the power of StarClan I give you your new name, Crowpaw. You will be known as such until you earn your warrior name” CanaryStar said before clearing her throat as she prepared to say the last bit of the speech. “Sandwing please step forward” She said making the deputy blink in shock before quickly scrambling to stand in front of the apprentice. She had chosen Sandwing both because he deserved it and because she knows he was once a loner and hoped that would let the two both and create an understanding. “You are an optimistic and loyal nicheling and I hope you pass these traits down to your apprentice” CanaryStar said making Sandwing nod and caused the gathered nicheling to start cheering the new apprentice’s name.
  2. It wasn’t long after the fight that the trio of adult nichelings returned to their home, only to have Volcano run up to them with tears. Lava reacted the quickest, approaching her son with concern and worry written on her face as she noticed the injury over his eye. “What happened?!” Lava asked with alarm as Volcano kept up the tears, which were in fact crocodile tears instead of genuine ones. “Finch attacked me for no reason, she used a cactus thorn to give me this” The prince said continuing his fake tears as he used a paw to gesture to his left eye making Lava’s expression turn to shock. “She did?” Lava asked feeling mixed feelings, she wanted to believe her son but considering his usual behavior… King Clay and Strike looked at each other after hearing the prince’s words, Clay with an expression of thoughtfulness and uncertainty and Strike with an expression of doubt heavy enough that a balance bear would crumble under the weight. Clay knew his son seems to only act selfishly but he had to consider the possibility that Finch started it despite the fact he doubted the teen nichling would be the type to start a fight. Taking a deep breath, Clay looked at his son with a serious expression. “Take me to Finch so we can discuss it” The king nicheling said making Volcano resist the urge to smirk at his victory, surely Finch would get in trouble now and learn to not mess with the future king. He turned around and led the older nichelings over to the other teen nicheling, who was busy trying to re-organize the mess of herbs that Volcano had left behind. Volcano then went behind his mom to watch everything go down. “Finch” Clay’s voice broke the younger nicheling’s concentration and caused her to look up from her herbs to instead look at the king nicheling. “Yeah?” Finch asked with some confusion as she noted the presence of the three nichelings along with the smug expression Volcano was wearing behind his mom’s back. “Volcano said that you started a fight with him and gave him that injury but first I’d like to hear your side of the story” Clay said and Finch had to fight really hard to not even smile at seeing the prince’s arrogance fall away the second he heard his dad’s words, Finch thought it served him right to think it would all go his way. “I admit I did cause that injury, but it was only because he was trying to order me around saying that I’m ‘below him’” All three adult nicheling’s gazes whipped towards the prince which made him shrink in on himself at the stares. “and also because he messed up the herb piles, as you can see” She continued as she gestured toward the mildly sorted pile of herbs, though most of them were still a mess as she hadn’t finished sorting them yet. Volcano very quickly regretted his plan as he saw the anger on the three older nicheling’s faces, especially seeing how mad Strike looked. Strike was trying to not express his anger though he was seething at the actions of the prince. Not only had he messed up the herbs he and Finch had meticulously sorted but he seemed to think almost everyone else was inferior to him. “We will heal your injury but once it’s healed we’ll be having a talk” Clay spoke before Strike could, staring at his son with a harsh glare that made Volcano look at him paws and give a meek nod at the fact his dad sounded genuinely angry. Volcano was taken to a nest and given herbs for his eye but both Strike and Finch refused to speak to him. The newest royal had been born early but with both Strike and Finch’s quick reactions both Lava and the pup had been able to make it through without any complications. Volcano hadn’t been able to see his new sibling for a few days due to the fact he had to rest and because while Lava was alright she was exhausted and needed lots of rest to recover. But now he was able to meet his younger sibling, though he now knew he had a younger sister. He didn’t even want to meet his sister nor did he see a point in going to see her, I mean if she is his sister he was going to see her all the time so why did he need to see her now? Though he was already in trouble for the stunt he pulled a few days ago so he couldn’t protest against the idea but he did drag his paws on the way there. “Be quiet, your mom is sleeping” Clay whispered as he saw his son emerge from the grasses after the healer. “Whatever” Volcano said as he sat as far from his newly born sister as he could muster without just walking away, having no interest in interacting with her. “Why don’t you come closer, say hi” Clay said after some silence as he noticed the distance his son kept from his sister. Volcano’s tail flicked in annoyance but he didn’t protest as he got up and walked closer until his dad was satisfied. Volcano just intended to sit there until his dad said he could leave, then he would walk away and only interact with his sister when he was required to. Then the tiny bundle of fur woke up. The pup squeaked, her eyes weren’t even open yet due to her young age so no one knew what color her eyes were at the moment. Then the pup quieted down and instead stood onto very wobbly legs and wobbled in the direction of Volcano, making him stare in confusion and shuffle a pawstep back. Clay’s stern glare made him go no further though as the tiny pup made her way closer to the prince. Once the pup got close enough she laid down on top of one of his paws which made Volcano freeze as he saw her settle down with a yawn. “She already seems attached to you” Clay said with a quiet chuckle as he saw Volcano’s reaction to the pup laying on his paw. Volcano just stared at the tiny bundle of fur with a confused expression. He was sure he would either hate having a younger sibling or just tolerate them but this pup was almost already making him attached, and he didn’t know how to feel about it. His thoughts were interrupted by his mom suddenly speaking. “You’re getting along already” Lava said with a soft smile as she looked at her pups making the prince’s fur prickle with embarrassment. “We’re not getting along, I’m only tolerating her” Volcano scoffed as he, gently, moved his paw out from under the pup and got up, causing the pup to squeak in protest, before turning around and stalking off into the grasses.
  3. I'll be playing two wolves for now on accurate ironwolf Omen and this new boy! - Far from Omen’s adventures was a white wolf named Shark, who was practically the opposite in terms of personality. Skittish and lazy, Shark much preferred going for easy meals over big hunts but he knew he would never attract a mate with his rabbit hunting skills so he promised himself that he would try to hunt a few elk to prove his worth. But the wolf quickly regretted his choice when the first this he came across was some bison, he wondered if this was a bad omen for the things to come but instead of contemplating it he quickly ran away with his tail between his legs. The scent of a bison carcass made him stop in his tracks as he sniffed the air to find where it was. As soon as he knew he ran over with excitement at the thought of getting an easy meal. After getting there he was confronted with a pair of coyotes, an annoyance but he was willing to fight a few coyotes for free food. So he circled them, growling and nipping at them until they gave up. But right after they left a pack of three dogs showed up. He considered running to avoid a fight but then realized he would go hungry if he didn’t so against his better judgement he fought. It was hard to avoid the bites of three dogs but after some time he had won though not without sustaining an injury in the form of a bruised jaw. He ate then took a chunk of it before turning around and leaving. As he explored an odd place with square things he found a herd of elk. He remembered his promise to himself and set down the meat chunk before chasing the herd. He quickly found out it was a mistake as an elk’s kick landed right on his already injured jaw, injuring it further and making him rethink he choice. Deciding it wasn’t worth it, he turned around and looked for his meat chunk before finding a spot to rest. He made his way around to explore his new surroundings and get to know the area he would be living in for now. On his way he found a herd of elk which felt like a mockery considering his current injuries and failure to hunt an elk the day before. He ignored them and instead focused on continuing to make a mental map of this new area.
  4. Yeah he is a rotten brat at the moment (Though idk if that'll ever change depends on how things go with the story and personality trait generator as he ages- Because I have it so they get 1 trait when they're born, 1 when they're a teen, and 2 in their adulthood with one being right when they age and one later in life) so yeah Finch is right because he is very spoiled at the moment, despite his parents attempts to discourage those behaviors. Hopefully that changes but we can only hope-
  5. BIG UPDATE TIME! - Prince Volcano had proven himself to be quite a pawful in the short time since he’d been born, constantly trying to get his way and do whatever he wanted without consideration for others. “But I want the berry now!” Volcano squeaked with anger as he looked at his mom who reached a paw out to gently keep the young pup from getting any closer to the cactus. “If you don’t wait for us to de-thorn it you’ll get pricked and that’ll hurt” Lava said in an attempt to soothe her grumpy son, though this just seemed to anger the pup further as he tried to jump at the berry bush instead. Lava gasped but before anything bad happened Clay grabbed his son with his front paws, eliciting a sigh of relief from Lava, before giving his son a stern stare. “Son, you’re going to be a king one day and that means listening to those around you even if you don’t always agree” Clay said as he gently set the pup onto the ground, ignoring the grumbling that came from him. “A king who doesn’t listen to those around him is a foolish one” He continued as he caught his son’s eye and gave him a stern stare to further get his point across. “Just de-thorn it faster” Volcano grumbled as he glared at the ground below him. “Lack of respect for others is also the trait of a foolish king” Clay said as his stare stare turned into a scowl at the way the pup talked to his own mother, who had been the one de-thorning the berry for the young prince. Volcano opened his mouth but shut it upon seeing his dad’s scowl and instead turned away from him and squeezed his eyes shut. Lava looked between her son and her mate a bit on edge before continuing to de-thorn the berry she held in her paws. She gave the berry to her son after de-thorning it and the pup ate it in silence causing the two older nichelings to sigh at their son’s behavior, knowing his attitude could be bad if it didn’t get better. Meanwhile Strike was expanding the territory by clearing the swath of tall grass that drowned the area and made it impossible to see farther than a pawstep in front of himself. His mind had drifted as he did the same repetitive task over and over so he was startled when a sudden ‘ow!’ rang out from below his paws. He quickly took a few steps back and notice a young pup rubbing her nose with her paw while scowling at him. “You hit me with your big paws!” The pup squeaked as her fur fluffed up in anger at the older nicheling. Strike was a bit shocked at the bite this pup had at this age but then remembered how Volcano acted, so honestly he probably shouldn’t be surprised about it. “Not my fault you’re the exact same color as the grass pup, where are your parents anyway?” Strike said as he lifted his snout before sniffing the air for any signs of another nicheling, though he didn’t smell the pup either so he tried to listen as well but heard nothing. “Fire got ‘em” The pup said bluntly enough that it surprised the healer even more than earlier and caused him to whip his head toward the pup, who didn’t react the way most pups would to that information. No crying or yelling…she just stared at him as if she just told him about the weather instead of about her parents dying. While an odd reaction he still didn’t feel right just abandoning a pup in this harsh place so he sighed before speaking. “Well I live in a group of nichelings that you could join, I doubt they’d reject a lone pup” Strike offered as he glanced back in the vague direction of the center of the territory. Finch tilted her head as she looked at the older nicheling for a little bit. “Okay” Was all she responded with but Strike supposed that was answer enough and gestured with his tail to follow him as he turned around and started walking. “The healer finally returns!” Clay said in a joking manner as he saw Strike emerge out the grasses, making the fanged nicheling roll his eyes before moving out of the way to show the yellow pup he brought with him. “A pup! Why did you bring this pup here?” Clay asked as he quickly approached the pup and looked at her, making the pup squint at him and take a step back with bristled fur. Clay took a step back as he noticed the pup’s body language before looking at the healer for an explanation. “She was alone and from what she said her parents were killed because of a wildfire” Strike explained as he looked at the king. Clay nodded before turning his attention toward the pup with a soft smile. “You can live here as long as you’d like little pup” Clay said, trying to look as welcoming as possible as to not unnerve the pup again. At that moment the prince burst out from the grasses with his mother close behind as she tried to keep up with the small pup. Volcano can to a sudden stop as he noticed the new pup. “Who are you?” Volcano said with a sneer as he looked at the new pup, who scowled in return as she heard his tone. “I just joined, why are you so grumpy?” The new pup asked with an annoyed lash of her tail at this red pup’s attitude towards her despite having just met her. “You’re weird and already annoying” Volcano said as he glared at the new pup causing Lava to look at her son. “Volcano! That’s rude” Lava tried to reprimand her son for his behavior but he didn’t even acknowledge his mom’s words at all. The new pup stood onto her four paws with bristled fur as she approached the young prince. Volcano just scowled as she came closer only to be stunned when the new pup raised her right paw and bopped him on the nose with enough force to make him flinch away, while Lava just stared in shock at the actions of this new pup. “Ow, hey that hurt!” Volcano growled as he rubbed his nose. The new pup stuck her tongue out at him before smiling proudly which made Volcano get ready to jump at her before Clay grabbed his son with a sigh. “No fighting you two” Clay said with a stern tone that made his son grumble while the new pup just looked away with a huff, finding it unfair considering that this spoiled pup deserved it in her opinion. “Maybe a bad time but I never got your name pup” Clay spoke, holding tightly onto his son to ensure there were no more shenanigans as he looked towards the newest member of the group. “Finch” The new pup simply said as she looked over at the king before looking at the prince, who scowled at her as she looked at him. “A wonderful name for the newest member of the group” Clay said with a welcoming smile before noticing Lava gesturing towards their son, who was trying to wiggle out of his dad’s hold without any luck. “Well I hope you enjoy living here” Clay said to Finch before turning around and taking his son to a different part of the territory to give him a stern talking to…again. (Time to make up herbs uses in this world-) It had been a bit of time since Finch arrived, most of her interactions with the prince ended up as arguments or attempts to fight so they were kept separated whenever possible. Currently Strike was sorting the very scarce number of herbs that the group had, the dry grasslands provided much fewer herbs than him and the royal’s last home is something he had found out quite quickly. “Can I help?” Finch’s words broke Strike out of his concentration and caused him to glance over and see the pup staring at the herbs with interest and curiosity that he hadn’t seen on any other nicheling. “You sure? It’s pretty boring to just sort herbs, wouldn’t you rather go play or nap?” Strike asked as he set down the herbs he was sorting to instead give the pup his full attention to see if she would change her mind. Finch shook her head and glanced at him before looking at the herbs again so Strike shrugged before deciding to explain it. “These herbs are new to me but from what I’ve picked up the ‘meat’ of the cactus can help fight infections if eaten and can be a good source of water if it’s fresh” Strike started explaining with the pup giving the herbs her complete focus. “And the roots of the cactus are good for stomachaches, and that’s all I know at the moment” He said honestly as a new biome meant new herbs that he was unfamiliar with. “Okay” Finch said as she started to help sort the small amount of herbs, with Strike occasionally making sure she didn’t mix the fresh herbs with the dry ones. Finch and Volcano had grown into teens and Volcano’s parents were currently discussing his attitude toward others. “I thought he would get better but his behavior has gotten even worse” Lava said in a discouraged tone as she rubbed a paw against her face, she was patient but even her patience was wearing thin at their son’s attitude. Clay gently nuzzled his mate in a comforting manner after hearing what she said. “I really hope he won’t treat his soon to be younger sibling the same way” Lava continued as she looked at her mate. “I know, even I’m worried that he’ll make a rotten king that lords his power over those he’s supposed to care for” Clay admitted, feeling as if he had failed at teaching him to be a good king. “But he’s still young, perhaps he’ll grow out of it and become an amazing king” He continued as a way to try and soothe Lava’s worries about their son, not wanting her to stress over something that is out of her control. Lava gave a skeptical look but closed her eyes and took a deep breath before opening them and nodding at her mate with the hope he was right. Volcano and Finch had been left alone after lots of reassurances that they would run if there was danger and that they wouldn’t get in a fight in their absence, which got some side-eye of doubt but eventually relented. It was silent for a long stretch as the two did their own tasks, Volcano was just laying around while Finch sorted some herbs as a way to relax. The prince’s eyes were soon drawn to the neat piles of herbs that Finch had just finished sorting, giving the prince an idea as a venomous grin appeared on his face. He waited until Finch wandered off to grab some food before going over and using his paw to mess up the piles and make it a huge, disorganized pile of herbs that made it look as if a mini tornado had just run through it. He quickly scurried back to the nest he was laying on when he heard the faint sound of pawsteps and waited. Finch returned after eating a berry from a bush inside the territory but stopped in her tracks as she saw the pile of herbs, which were sorted only a little bit ago. She turned toward the prince with her fur bristling and her teeth bared. “WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!” She screamed as she noticed the prince’s expression turn to one of arrogance at her anger. “Well you seemed bored so I gave you something to do, so re-organize it” Volcano said with an almost bored wave of his paw towards the pile, fueling Finch’s anger further. “No! You can’t just tell me what to do, especially after that!” Finch snarled as she took a threatening step towards the prince, who just rolled his eyes at her anger. “Yeah I can, I’m a future king so you have to listen to me because you’re below me” Volcano said with a smug grin as he looked at the irate Finch, who’s fur bristled further at his comment. “You’d be a rotten king! I bet you’d just let your subjects starve while you hoard the food!” Finch snapped as she took another step towards the prince. “Well yeah, the royals are the most important nichelings in the group” Volcano said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Finch’s mouth hung open in shock at the complete seriousness of the prince’s tone. Then she lunged at the prince causing him to yelp as soon as her bodyweight bowled into him, easily knocking him over. “Hey get off me!” Volcano said as he tried to shove her off. “No! You’re selfish and you deserve more than a slap on the paw for it!” Finch growled causing a small bubble of fear to rise in the prince but he tried not to let it show, instead trying harder to shove away the winged nicheling but without any results. -Blood mention!- Finch grabbed a thorn from a nearby cactus and swiped it from the top to the bottom of Volcano’s left eye, causing blood to leak out and to create a cut on his face. Volcano screeched and used all his force to push Finch off of him, succeeding this time, before quickly scrambling away from her. The two had a tense stare-off as he felt blood drip down his face from the fresh cut. -End of blood mention- Volcano broke first, turning around and fleeing to hide in one of the nests on the territory that was farther from Finch, making said nicheling scoff at the cowardly action before turning back to the herbs and beginning to re-sort them once more.
  6. If this is way too similar to someone else's than I apologize but I made my newest playthrough and thought eh why not throw my rules for it out into the world if anyone else wants to play it this way. Also this is heavily leaning towards more story-like playthroughs so note that! So time for the rules! -Blind gene mode enabled for extra surprise -Tribe limit is 20 - Certain traits are seen as more attractive and less attractive (Though this may be waived for story purposes as you see fit) -Royalty can make and remove rules but while they can implement whatever rules they want, it is more fair to pass these rules by the lead healer as well for their approval. Not doing so may cause their subjects to trust them less or dislike them. -The gem color is based off ranks which are listed below lowest-highest(If it’s just one color than all gems are that color but combos mean different ranks: Orange - The lowest of the low. Green inner gem and orange outer gems - Lower than pure green but still have a chance to redeem themselves, usually through a task or mission. Green - Average Pink - Pupsitters, they watch over the young of the group. Blue - Healer, they heal the sick or weak and are respected for it. Green outer gems and a pink inner gem - Guards, watch over royalty and keep them safe. Will probably sacrifice themselves to save the royalty if needed (Though again story purposes may waive that rule if you want it to) Blue outer gems and yellow inner gem: Lead healer, commonly converses with royalty to help with decisions and has quite a bit of sway, only being outranked by the royals. Usually the most experienced with healing in the group. Yellow - Royalty, make the big choices and basically control everything, though different rulers have different amounts of micromanaging depending on personality, the way they were raised, etc.
  7. I've never watched that but that's kinda funny, maybe I'll watch it sometime (No guarantees though)
  8. Fair enough, getting distracted is definitely a reason I've forgotten to update playthroughs of mine-
  9. This isn’t even based off a certain challenge but more of an amalgamation of challenges I’ve probably read over the years honestly. I wanted to do a royalty challenge but none of them really spoke to me perfectly, usually far too many things for me to keep track of honestly heh. But to sum it up here’s the gist. -Blind gene mode enabled for extra surprise -Tribe limit is 20 for my own sake - Certain traits are seen as more attractive and less attractive (Though this may be waived for story purposes as always-) In this playthrough mask patterning, fishing tail, and nimble fingers are considered more attractive. While no pattern, anteater snout, and heat body are considered less attractive. -Royalty can make and remove rules but while they can implement whatever rules they want, it is more fair to pass these rules by the lead healer as well for their approval. Not doing so may cause their subjects to trust them less or dislike them. -The gem color is based off ranks which are listed below lowest-highest(If it’s just one color than all gems are that color but combos mean different ranks: Orange - Very bad, means they are the lowest of the low. Green inner gem and orange outer gems - Lower than pure green but still have a chance to redeem themselves, usually through a task or mission. Green - Average, just a regular nicheling with nothing super bad nor super good. Pink - Pupsitters, mostly watch over young royalty if there is any but also watch over other pups as well. Blue - Healer, they heal the sick or weak and are respected for it. Green outer gems and a pink inner gem - Guards, watch over royalty and keep an eye on royals children. Blue outer gems and yellow inner gem: Lead healer, commonly converses with royalty to help with decisions and has quite a bit of sway, only being outranked by the royals. Usually the most experienced with healing in the group. Yellow - Royalty, make the big choices and basically control everything, though different rulers have different amounts of micromanaging depending on personality. - The harsh savannah sun beat down upon the grassland, showing no mercy to any creature or plant within its grasp. The dry grass swayed in the gentle breeze that was passing through the hot biome in a way that made it look as if it were dancing like a fancy bird. A rabill had cautiously hopped over to a small puddle of water, a rarity in these scorching grasses, and quickly started to drink from it with the hope of surviving another day under the ruthless sun. A nicheling jumped out and quickly killed the rabill, putting an end to its dreams of living another day, and then turned around and started to walk off with the rabill in their jaws. “You should eat this to regain your energy” The nicheling, a white and brown furred nicheling named Strike, said as he pushed the rabill towards the orange furred nicheling who was currently laying in a nest with a small bundle of red fur curled against her side. “Unless you wanna be even weaker than you are normally” Strike spoke again as he looked at the nicheling who only let out a sigh upon hearing the nicheling’s words. “I know, thank you for the meal Strike” The orange nicheling, named Lava, said as she started to eat the rabill that the poison fanged nicheling had given her. She was actually the Queen, though she didn’t know how much that really meant anymore as her and her mate’s old kingdom had been ravaged by bearyena, leaving her, her mate, and Strike as the only survivors they knew of. The healer didn’t say anything as he turned around and laid down, not really seeing a reason to do anything else at the moment as he felt his duties were done until further notice. After a stretch of silence Clay, the king and the mate of Lava, emerged from the grasses before glancing at the two present nichelings. “Cheery as usual healer?” He asked with no actual malice as he briefly turned his attention towards Strike. The healer glanced in his direction before making a show of rolling his eyes and turning his entire body away from the royal nicheling, though there was a small smile on his face as the mellow attitude of the yellow-eyed nicheling. “He’s perfectly healthy, no health issues that I’ve noticed after checking him” Strike spoke as he turned back around to vaguely gesture towards the small bundle of red fur. Clay nodded before gently walking over to his mate and the pup that sat next to her side. “What should we name him?” Clay asked as he looked at the small pup with affection, already being quite attached despite having just seen the small nicheling for the first time. “You don’t want to name him?” Lava asked with a tilt of her head as she looked at her mate who shook his head with a chuckle. “You’re the one who brought him into this world so you deserve to name him, at least this one” Clay said as he looked up from his newborn pup to look into the eyes of his mate. “Alright, than I think Volcano would suit him” Lava said as she nuzzled the pup which caused him to squeak before settling down once more. “From what I’ve heard from my grandparents they spewed out burning red liquid, the same color as his fur” She continued as she glanced up at her mate for his approval. “It sounds perfect for our little prince. Prince Volcano has a nice ring to it” Clay agreed happily as he looked at his pup once more, knowing that his pup would bring a strong legacy to this island.
  10. We're on the same wavelength apparently- That's honestly fair, motivation can be really really tough to find sometimes(I mean look at me, I occasionally drop off the face of the forums for like 1-6 months because I lack the motivation to make more story) All I can say is if you can't think of story ideas use a random plot or even random word generator to try and generate ideas. But if you're just bored of the game itself at the moment than I can't really give too much advice, sometimes ya just gotta wait out the boredom. Also thank you! Always nice to hear someone say they enjoy my writing/say my writing is good, always completely makes my day! (I'm still working on that new playthrough btw but I made the mistake of 'watching youtube for just a few videos' and ended up completely forgetting lol)
  11. Currently writing up a brand new niche playthrough that should be done in about 1-4 hours (Depending on how distracted I am and how much ideas I have-) so if you're interested keep an eye out for that! A small hint: It's gonna have ranks and royalty type of stuff!
  12. I was thinking of that but sadly the combo of being in the middle of unclaimed territory mixed with a leg injury and two dispersals means I didn't even have a chance to get to try that. Thanks! Different wolves make it more interesting I think! Especially if they have different personalities! I actually might make a new one because Desert died so quickly-
  13. ATTEMPT 2 OF ACCURATE IRONWOLF WITH A DIFFERENT BOY- An Ornery Omen - While Desert’s legacy quickly ended another had began. Omen, a young 2 year old male wolf, had ventured away from his own home pack. Not to start a legacy but simply to explore far beyond the reaches of his old home. The chilling wind higher in the mountain didn’t bother the hyper wolf, instead it invigorated him and only made him more excited to explore the treacherous mountains. As soon as he smelled an elk herd he bolted toward the source, not even showing a wink of caution or care. He even passed on the chance to hunt a hare, despite the fact it would be a guaranteed meal to help fill his stomach. On his travels he came across a herd of elk! But not the right type, it was a herd of bull elk. As tempted as he was he shook off the temptation and continued on his way with the intent to find a herd of elk with calves, for something easier. He had luck! He found an extremely weak calf, its limp making it an obvious target for him. He got kicked once but luckily sustained no injures and managed to kill the elk without any more problems. He quickly ate after hearing the sound of a nearby wolf, not wanting to risk the chance of getting none of his own spoils, before taking a chunk and wandering away. It was tempting but he knew a carcass wouldn’t be left alone for long. After finding a secluded area he sat down the chunk of meat before laying down and slowly drifting off, happy to have gotten a meal and live the day.
  14. His hunt was interupted by another dispersal, a dark coated male who seemed intent on claiming the weak calf despite not putting in the effort to help hunt it. But after he thought he lost the one it turned out there was another as another bit his leg which slowed Desert to a stop and caused the elk to get a chance to run off. He tried to fight but quickly realized 2 against 1 was a losing battle so he turned tail and fled but to his shock they didn’t leave him be, continuing to chase him far from the elk. They both took turns biting him and despite his efforts he couldn’t run, his wounded leg making it impossible to keep a fast pace. And he felt guilt, his dad and mom spent so much effort raising him just for his legacy to end here, before it even begun. He never he got to hunt his first elk. (BRUH THAT SUCKED I TRIED SO HARD TO RUN BUT THEY KEPT CHASING ME???)
  15. So yea this will be for my Wolfquest playthroughs staring with Desert! The son of Dune and Frostbite. Desert’s Destiny (Accurate ironwolf playthrough!) - Desert had grown into an adult wolf and decided to leave his family pack behind, hoping to have his own family and leave a legacy that would last forever. But he didn’t know of the challenges that lay ahead of him, nor did he know of the dangers that wait around every corner… He was happy to have caught a hare, it’s a small meal but at least he knew he had something in his stomach today. Though hunger still made his stomach rumbled so he continued on in a search for something more filling. He had been lucky as he found the scent of an elk herd quickly, and even luckier he had managed to find a weak calf. Though its mother was going to be a problem as he knew it could end him with a swift kick if he didn’t show caution and careful planning.
  16. Time for an update! - CanaryStar made her way through the tall grasses at the edge of the territory while holding Blossomkit by the scruff. It was only now that CanaryStar was hit with the realization that she had never introduced Blossomkit to her father, nor did said father even know about the kit. But between caring for the kit and offering advice to Sandwing she was too busy to notice until now. “Where are we going?” Blossomkit asked as she tried to wiggle out of her mom’s hold without any luck. “You’re gonna meet your dad” CanaryStar said as best she could through a mouthful of fur as she continued through the grass at a brisk pace. Blossomkit gasped before trying to look at her mom’s face. “Really?!” The kit asked excitedly as her mom had never actually told her, in fact CanaryStar tended to avoid the subject whenever possible. CanaryStar made a ‘mhm’ sound as she finally reached the spot that her and Blossomkit’s dad always met. And to her mild surprise he was still there despite having not come here for moons. “And here I thought you got bored of me” Berry said with an amused chuckle as he looked at CanaryStar before his attention was grabbed by the kit in CanaryStar’s hold. “Whose kit is that?” The loner asked as he watched CanaryStar set the kit onto the ground before looking at him. “She’s yours” CanaryStar simply said shocking the loner into stunned silence for a few seconds. Then he looked at the kit in a different way, assesing the kit as if to see if that was really true. “Well I guess she did get my horns and claw” Berry admitted as he realized how the kit did share some similarities with him. Meanwhile Blossomkit, upon realizing she was actually meeting her dad, quickly ran over to him and looked at him with admiration. “Can you teach me secret loner battle moves?!” Blossomkit exclaimed, starting Berry a bit before he chuckled and put a paw on the young nicheling’s head. “Well I don’t know, are you an apprentice yet uh…” Berry paused as he realized he had no clue what his kit’s name was. “Blossomkit” CanaryStar filled in as she noticed his expression. “Well since you have kit in your name I don’t think I can yet” Berry said with some amusement as he saw how excited the kit was about the idea. CanaryStar watched the two interact with happiness and relief as she saw how easily Berry seemed to accept the kit despite not knowing about her existence for moons. “Please? If I get training early I’ll be the strongest warrior ever!” Blossomkit begged as she tried to change Berry’s mind but CanaryStar spoke up first. “No Blossomkit, you’ll be an apprentice in a moon so it won’t be long” The leader said with a mix of amusement and slight exhaustion at the kit’s attempts to get training early. “We should go though, too long without a kit being back at camp and everyone will panic” She continued as she looked at Berry who nodded. “You’re probably right about that, maybe you could bring her to see me more often?” Berry asked as he sat down idly. CanaryStar nodded in agreement before grabbing Blossomkit and walking back to camp. Twigpaw waited until his dad was alone before approaching him, trying to shove down the feelings of anger as he made his way over. Ever since his sister died Twigpaw had started to really take notice of how little his dad seemed to care about him. His dad would only interact with him when they crossed paths or if another nicheling had made him do so in some way, he never tried to seek him out to interact and Twigpaw was tired of his dad’s behavior. Firefang’s ear swiveled toward the sound of approaching pawsteps, and by the scent it was his kit. “Hello Twigpaw” He greeted as he turned his head in the general direction of the sound, unaware of the conversation that would be occurring in the next moment. Twigpaw didn’t even take the time to greet his dad back as he didn’t feel he deserved such courtesies. “Why don’t you love me?” Twigpaw came right out with his question, not wanting to dance around it or take unneeded time to get to the point. Firefang blinked a few times in shock at the blunt question before his ears lowered a tad as he noticed that even his kit had noticed his lack of attachment. He opened and closed his mouth a few times as he debated whether to tell the truth or not. “I do! I just-” Before Firefang got a chance to try and defend himself the apprentice quickly interrupted him. “I’m not that rabill-brained! I know you don’t love me because you only talk to me when you have to!” Twigpaw hissed as he glared at his dad with his paws digging into the ground as he flexed them. “Listen I just…I…” Firefang desperately tried to think of a way to defend himself as he heard the fury in his kit’s tone. Twigpaw stared at his dad as he waited to hear an excuse or explanation for his behavior. “…You’ve got nothing, because you don’t care, you never loved me did you?” Twigpaw spat as he heard the deafening silence from his dad. Firefang’s ears flattened as he clenched his paws, sinking them into the dirt below him. “…You…you never loved Redpaw either, despite how much she looked up to you” Twigpaw said with a bitter laugh, remembering how his sister had always wanted to be ‘as strong and tough as dad!’ always admiring their dad for the fact that he didn’t let his blindness get in the way of being a good warrior. Firefang’s silence made the apprentice’s blood boil. “You’re a good warrior but a useless father” Twigpaw snapped before turning around and stalking off, leaving Firefang to sit by himself to contemplate his actions. Soon it was time for the only kit of the clan to become an apprentice. CanaryStar was happy to get back to her duties, mostly for Sandwing’s sake considering he looked really stressed lately, but she would also miss always watching over the young nicheling. “Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and defend your clan, even with your life?” CanaryStar spoke, internally shaking off her wistful thoughts to instead focus on the present. “I do!” Blossomkit said as she practically bounced in place due to her impatience about becoming an apprentice, just wanting to be one right this second. “Then by the power of StarClan I give you the name Blossompaw, you will be known as that until you get your warrior name” CanaryStar said as she looked at her daughter with pride before continuing. “Robinbriar please come up” CanaryStar said causing said nicheling to straighten up in shock before quickly following the leader’s order and making her way to the front of the crowd. “You are an excellent nicheling who remains calm and works well with others and I hope you teach such skills to this apprentice” CanaryStar asked as she looked at the still shocked nicheling, though she knew Robinbriar would teach the young nicheling well. Robinbriar approached the apprentice, who almost slammed her nose into Robinbriar’s with how fast she tried to do it. Robinbriar resisted to urge to laugh at the apprentice’s obvious excitement over becoming an apprentice. The rest of the clan cheered Blossompaw’s new name before the meeting was dismissed.
  17. Yeah it's super exciting and totally not free suffering! (Too bad you're far too late for that- I've played accurate ironwolf, though that's not to say it goes well. I love playing accurate (I-am-in-pain)) (I will though, welp I'll make that new thread sometime tomorrow-)
  18. THE CURSE HAS BEEN BROKEN THEY HAD A LITTER OF 3 PUPS! Also yes Desert lived to adulthood so perhaps I'll do a playthrough with him, though idk where I'd put it- Maybe make a new thread in off topic for wolfquest playthroughs and stuff. Anyways the names are Sandstorm, Twig, and Decay(for decaying leaves) the lightest brown one is Sandstorm and I think the one furthest to the left is Decay while the one furthest to the right is Twig. Also for desert should I make an accurate mode playthrough for extra fun and pain?
  19. I feel like my wolf Dune is cursed or something- First off both his litter were only 2 pups, which is odd considering that him and his mate are not 1 star diversity and have 'gray' coats, and on top of that both of the litters have had one of the pups get snatched by an eagle! (floppy eared wolf is Dune, the white wolf is his mate Frostbite, and the pup is named Desert!)
  20. I have found flutter slimes so I can do that now! And I also got ember valley so I have even more slimes now! Also I now have flutter-ringtail slimes which look really cute! Now all I need is to find dervish slimes- But I have to wait until the cyclone weather comes around. Also what's your top three favorite slimes ever? Mine are, in no particular order, hunter, dervish, and ringtail
  21. Crystal-batties sound really pretty now that I think about it! Also we both have pink-cottons apparently- Also the lab buddy is cute :3 Also do ya have any recommendations for what to mix a tangle slime with? I have one and I have no clue what to mix it with, currently I have honey-rocks, pink-cottons, phosphor-tabbies, and angler-hunters (I'd honestly prefer a reccomendation of a slime I don't have on my farm yet but honestly I just really need help with this one-)
  22. Yeah those two are super pretty so I get it. Huh I'm gonna see what that looks like soon hopefully- I haven't found any flutters yet but maybe they're just on a part of the map I haven't gotten to yet. Because I have like 1 map node unlocked for the Starlight Strand so I probably haven't seen it in game yet. But I do know what they look like and I already love them because monarchs are my favorite type of butterfly!
  23. Yay fellow SR2 lover! What's your favorite new slime? If I had to pick so far I'd say the angler slime.
  24. Hello everyone! So first off I've been using rainworld's arena mode to try and get better at fighting, I am improving at beating up scavs (In preparation because I may still be on survivor's playthrough but I need to get better for my inevitable artificer playthrough-) Turns out that the strategy of 'hide in a tunnel and wait for them to get close before snatching the items out of their hands' is pretty effective! Nothing funnier than snatching the explosive spear from their own hands- Also just for fun these are the games I'm currently hyperfixated on :3 (Talk to me about them if you'd like) -Rainworld -Wolfquest AE(Anniversery Edition) -Slime Rancher 2 -Niche -The Sapling -Fish Game (Yes that's literally what it's called, it's basically just taking care of fish and designing their aquariums :3)
  25. Hello I have a big update please enjoy! - Twigpaw let out a hiss of surprise as he felt something practically knock him over…or someone. CanaryStar watched with some amusement as Blossomkit almost bowled over the apprentice, it had become apparent that she was a rowdy kit which meant CanaryStar had her paws full quite a lot trying to calm the kit which left Sandwing to handle most clan matters. What had also become apparent was that Blossomkit was practically attached to Twigpaw, constantly following him around and trying to get him to show her ‘warrior stuff’ despite the fact that the apprentice wasn’t a warrior yet. “I can’t show you anything yet, you’re not even a warrior!” Twigpaw said as he used a paw to shove the kit off of him. Blossomkit pouted as she tumbled onto the ground. “C’mon! If you show me all the cool training stuff I’ll be the strongest warrior ever!” Blossomkit said as she got onto her paws before sticking her tongue out at the apprentice, which he just rolled his eyes at with a smile. “Well that’s impossible because I’m gonna be the strongest warrior” Twigpaw said as he puffed up with pride while the kit looked shocked before letting out a huff. “No, I will be!” Blossomkit squeaked as she tried to puff up like Twigpaw did, but that just made her look even more silly. Twigpaw snickered at the tiny ball of fluff which made Blossomkit try to puff up further in response. “I’m sure you’ll be the strongest warriors in the clan” CanaryStar finally spoke as she didn’t want to chance it turning into an actual argument over something like that. The younger cats grumbled, not pleased with that answer as it didn’t prove either was the strongest but they knew better than to argue so they settled for pouting. “Twigpaw! We’re practicing battle moves!” All three nicheling’s ears perked up as they heard the sound of Daisyfall’s voice over the clearing. “Coming!” Twigpaw said as he got up while looking much more excited now. Blossomkit grumbled but CanaryStar just chuckled. “He’ll be back soon enough” CanaryStar said as Twigpaw ran off to find his mentor. Sandwing had offered to escort Mossbeetle on his venture into the territory to help him collect herbs, mostly because it was a chance to spend time with Mossbeetle. Between his deputy duties and Mossbeetle’s medicine nicheling duties it was rare to try and have a conversation with the busy medicine nicheling. Mossbeetle was silent as he pushed his way through the tall grass while trying to ignore the feeling of raindrops hitting his pelt. Though he was thankful he didn’t have as thick of a coat of fur as the deputy, whose fur was flattened against his back with most of it seeming to hang down his stomach and tail. He tried to force down the laughter he felt as he noticed how silly it made Sandwing look but a snort got out causing the deputy to look over at Mossbeetle with confusion. “The rain makes you look like a soggy rat” Mossbeetle said as he cleared his throat, trying to brush off the laughter. Sandwing pouted as he heard the medicine nicheling’s words. “I came to help you and you insult me, rude” Sandwing said but the smile on his face waved away any ideas of him being genuinely annoyed. Mossbeetle playfully rolled his eyes at the deputy’s behavior as the two continued along. “There’s a berry bush” Mossbeetle noted after some silence, swiftly making his way over to the berry bush. “Grab some leaves and I’ll get some of the roots” The medicine nicheling instructed as he started to carefully dig near the base of the bush. Sandwing nodded before grabbing a decent amount of leaves from the bush’s branches. Mossbeetle took some of the roots but left it mostly intact before gently pushing the dirt back into place so that the plant wouldn’t die. Before the two could go back to camp the rain started to come down heavily, making it hard to see and impossible to smell anything through. The two nicheling’s were shocked at the sudden downpour but Mossbeetle quickly composed himself. “We need to find somewhere to stay until the rain calms” The medicine nicheling said before leading the deputy, trying to look around for more dry area as well as he could, though he felt lost as his vision wasn’t very good. Sandwing took over leading the two as he looked around for anything to hide from the rain. After a small bit of time where the rain was beating down on the two nichelings Sandwing saw a small cave. “There!” He said before leading the medicine nicheling to the cave, though he kept his ears perked as he knew that this place could already be occupied. Mossbeetle and Sandwing practically dragged themselves into the cave, feeling like their fur weighed more than ever due to the rain soaking into it. Mossbeetle immediately started grooming his fur in an attempt to get dry, hating how the rain made him feel like every tiny breeze was freezing cold. “Well at least we found somewhere to hide until the rain calms down” Sandwing said as he glanced at the medicine nicheling. “I suppose that’s a good thing, but the herbs will take forever to dry now” Mossbeetle said with a twitch of his tail before returning to grooming his fur, wishing he could’ve just gotten back to camp quicker. Sandwing looked down as he realized Mossbeetle was probably going to be in a grumpy mood for now, before starting to groom his own pelt. After some time Mossbeetle had gotten most of his fur somewhat dry, except for one spot that was bothering him. Sandwing watched as Mossbeetle tried to reach the back of his head, looking more annoyed as time went on. “Do you…want some help with that?” Sandwing piped up despite the fact he was a bit nervous about the medicine nicheling’s reaction. Mossbeetle looked over at the deputy with an unreadable expression, making Sandwing regret his decision but before he could take back his statement the medicine nicheling spoke up. “Just be quick” Mossbeetle said with a sigh as he glanced off to the side, trying to ignore the feeling of warmth in his heart. Sandwing hesitated for a second but then walked over and began grooming the back of Mossbeetle’s head. The only sounds were the sounds of rain beating against the ground outside the cave. As soon as the back of his head was dry the medicine nicheling moved away from Sandwing. “…Thanks” Mossbeetle said as he continued to pointedly look away from the deputy. “You’re welcome” Sandwing said as he felt a smile grow on his face. The cave grew mostly silent for some time as the two just waited for the rain to stop. “…If your old clan actually found you would you leave with them?” Mossbeetle’s question threw Sandwing for a loop as he whipped his head toward the other nicheling. “I would like to see them” Sandiwng said as he considered the question honestly, would he want to leave with them if they actually found the clan? After almost a minute of silence Mossbeetle walked over to the wet herbs and sorted them which made Sandwing snap out of his head. “I wouldn’t leave the clan by myself!” Sandwing clarified but that just caused the medicine nicheling to look at him even more confused. “Don’t you get it?! I love you! I’d take you with me” Sandwing blurted out causing both his and Mossbeetle’s eyes to widen in shock. Sandwing just wanted the ground to swallow him whole as he realized what he just admitted. Mossbeetle could barely process the words as he tried to figure out if he had just heard that. One part of him was thrilled, as he shared those feelings but kept them deeply buried as he didn’t know how to handle them. But the other part was panicking as he didn’t expect to deal with those feelings ever because while he had seen the signs, he naturally assumed there was no way Sandwing felt that way for him. “Are you…sure?” Mossbeetle asked, not sure what answer he would prefer. Sandwing felt regret for blurting out his feelings but he knew he had already said it so repeating it couldn’t be any worse. “Yes” Sandwing said with a dead serious tone as while he felt extremely afraid he also wouldn’t take his words back either. Mossbeetle looked at the ground as he tried to form his feelings into thoughts and words. “I…” Mossbeetle started as he tried to round his panic into something cohesive. Sandwing just nodded as he really didn’t want to repeat it a third time. “…Can I have some time to think about it?” Mossbeetle asked, wanting to give himself time to come up with a proper response. “Of course!” Sandwing quickly responded, not wanting to pressure him with a time limit. Mossbeetle let out a sigh of relief upon hearing the deputy’s words. “Good” Was all Mossbeetle said in response as he looked out the entrance of the cave, causing Sandwing to do the same. The rain soon stopped and the two went back to camp in silence, not having any idea what to say. After calming some worried clanmates they went back to their separate duties.
