“Hey.”

Layanmua turned her head to face Kayako.

“Hello. Do you require berries?” The female queried with a tilted head and blank expression.

“No. I require.. help. I need to find a mate. As the leader, I need to keep the tribe going, and that means I must have a son before my time is gone.”

Layanmua gave a slight look of confusion.

“Why not a daughter?”

He curled his lips back in a look of disgust before swallowing his pride a bit and lifting his head.

“I feel a son would be more fitting for the tribe.” 

He lied, though that fact seemed to have been overlooked.

“The best choice is to find your own mate. No doubt you want strength, go seek it yourself.”

Kayako opened his mouth to object, but she simply turned and went back to berry picking, which obviously meant she didn’t care about what he had to say.

He scoffed and walked away, off to find a mate.

“Hey, stop squishing the berries!”

Blaze perked her head up, looking above the bush at her brother.

They seemed to have a look of hatred coating their eyes, but others figured that was just what siblings are like..

“I’ll do whatever I want. You stop pestering me!”

“I’m not pestering you, this is the first time I’ve asked!”

“Asked? You yelled at me!”

Blaze glared at Burn, and Burn glared back.

“Hey, could you two stop fighting? Thanks!”

The twins looked down at Lasa, whom had been shoving some of the berries in her mouth.

Burn growled nd swatted at her, which caused her to drop the berries and back away.

“Stay away from my berries you creep! I earned these!”

Lasa frowned, a small pout evident across her face.

“I’m hungry. Spare some food for the poor?”

“No! Go get food yourself!”

Lasa growled at him before turning towards the water. She leaned down and took a few sips, then turned and pranced away.
