A challenge I might do later

 

The ranks from highest to lowest:

1. King/Queen - the ruler. Gems are dark blue if king or dark pink if queen with red in middle, only can be ruler if has the royal gene (aka home island immunity)
2. King/Queen - the wife/husband of the ruler, gems same as ruler but light blue in the middle, does not need to have the royal gene
3. Heir - Basically a princess/prince, but with the royal gene, usually the oldest one with it. If the ruler dies (and their wife/husband steps down), the heir will take over. Gems same as prince/princess but with red in the middle.
4. Prince(s)/Princess(es) - The kid(s) of the king and queen, gems light pink if princess or light blue if prince with yellow in the middle.
5. Royals -  Other family members no farther than one generation related to the ruler or their wife/husband, gems yellow.
6. Knights - Strong nichelings who hunt and protect the kingdom. Gems orange.
7. Farmers  - Nichelings that are good at collecting, gems green.
8. Servants - Nichelings that aren't useful for anything or just plain 'ugly'. Gems gray.

 

Marriage and children

When two nichelings marry, the most or even whole kingdom gathers. (A similiar thing occurs when the heir is born, or becomes king/queen.)

The marriage occurs in a specific place, commonly near a tree (see beliefs).

When the marriage is done, the nichelings go back to what they were doing.

The female gets her surname from the male (or from the ruler if their mate)

Example: Rosy Green marries Scratch Shark, so her full name is Rosy Shark

 

Children become either knights, farmers or servants depending on their parents. Of course, if they aren't doing well with their rank they can become another one

Example: Wood is bad at being a knight, so he can become a farmer or servant

 

Not everyone can marry everyone, forbidden relationships include a royal and servant, servants need the ruler's permission to marry and/or have children

Names

I name my nichelings in-game as:

[rank] [name] [surname]

Beliefs

The Kingdom of Forest (also known as Forest Kingom) has many various beliefs and traditions.

 

When anything important happens, it happens/is discussed under a tree, because it is believed that trees are sacred spirits and have a connection with the goddess Flora.

 

The kingdom doesn't have a wide pantheon, but there is Flora. They also worship a part of the well-known La'Khaanian pantheon, as they believe in Nightspots and Suneyes.
