The Leeren Tribe

What happens when many nichelings of a certain tribe get exiled? The Leeren Tribe happens.

Exiled from their tribe in the mountains, 3 young nichelings start a new life in a much more peaceful place where they hope they won't have to see as much death and chaos as they saw in their older tribe.

The founders of the Leeren tribe:

Taco - a platypus-billed nicheling who was exiled for not being able to harvest enough food with only one digging paw. Born to a large family of gatherers who could feed the entire tribe by digging up one root, he was seen as a burden by almost everyone. He is not very strong and is seen as rather submissive, but he has a few tricks and surprises up his sleeve..

Talon - a poison-fanged nicheling exiled for not being able to fly. His family, albeit much smaller than Taco's, had only winged nichelings. His father was an exception with only two runner legs, but he was invited in for his heat body. Talon had his father's heat body, but he only had one wing which was more useless than two runner legs and made his mother abandon him when he was born. He's quite feisty, good at arguing and isn't afraid to call people out on their mistakes. Unsurprisingly with very low strength, he's terrible at physical fighting and will always back down from one.

Bugg- a saber-fanged nicheling exiled for not being able to withstand the cold temperature. Her family was part of the main tribe and they were one of the few sources of food. With big ears and a spiky back, she always had to stay at the nest so she wouldn't freeze. She was just another slow mouth to feed, and she was exiled. Bugg's old dream was to fight a big bad and be remembered as a hero, but this reminded her too much of the mountains so she went with just raising the next generation. She's a bit cold and doesn't get attached or convinced easily, but she knows what buttons to press to get what she wants. Although most of the time she just gets what she wants with her strength.

(Extremely sorry for not starting earlier, also, some genes might have been changed a bit, but nothing too big

The balance bears and ramfox packs were far behind them now. Instead of growling and screeching, the only sounds the trio could hear now were the soothing waves and harsh panting after the long journey.

"We're here!" The youngest, a black and white billed nicheling, exclaimed proudly as the warm wind hit him like the slap of a great ape. The weather was great for creatures like him and Bugg, both who had almost froze multiple times in their old home, but for nichelings like Talon who adapted well to the snow and harsh wind, the warmth didn't feel as welcoming.

As the heavy breathing stopped and slowed, the obvious question of "Who would lead the tribe?" crept into their minds, but for now they were going to ignore it. The day passed rather quickly, as the group didn't really talk all that much, except for Bugg showing Taco some worms he could dig up on the sea floor. The next day on the Peaceful Meadow would have probably been the same...

...if it wasn't for the low growl of a mother bearyena.

The small tribe shivered as she entered their vision, although she wasn't even awake. Though Bugg was used to seeing large, bulky and furry creatures come up and try to attack her tribe, the males weren't so accustomed to seeing them up close like this. The large-toothed nicheling let out a half-growl, but the nocturnal bearyena didn't even move or open an eye. Without thinking and out of sheer anger, she landed a few swift bites on the bear hyena hybrid's neck, resulting in the bear becoming a corpse.

As Taco was about to gather meat from the cadaver, the gang heard small and strange mewling sounds. Peeking over the mother's body, there was, indeed, a baby. Before the female could do something extremely inhumane, Talon jumped out of the water and landed on Bugg's head. "What?!" Bugg yelled, obviously angry.

"You were about to kill the child, Bugg." Talon angrily stared at the female, standing in front of her and the extremely small yet fluffy cub. "So!? He's just going to become another angry and hostile bearyena, it's best to end him before he does any damage to us." In her mind, Talon just didn't understand. He could always easily get away from danger with his speed, but her only option was fight. Even before she had lost her paws, she was extremely slow. Her cut-off limbs just gave more reason for her to hate any sort of bear.

"Listen, Bugg, your tribe became strong because they befriended these "vile" bearyena cubs. Just show him mercy and give him food, for the love of Furrala." It was unclear whether Talon wanted to give mercy, gain strength, or both, but whatever his reasoning was, he managed to convince Bugg.

"Fine. Have it your way." Bugg huffed as she slid a few worms over to the cub, who happily nommed on them. Taco observed, standing still in the water as he wondered how Talon managed to convince Bugg so easily. His eyes slowly wandered to the hungry cub's claws. Strength. Was the only word that popped in Taco's brain, along with the image of the pup's thick claws. I'll have to keep that in mind.
