Dragons, Because Why not?

I think Dragons would be a cool addition to the game, They could have two variants, Flame Dragons and Frost Dragons. They can be more of a challenge. Due to the fact that after a while Bearenas are not much of a challenge after a while, The dragons could be the next step up. They can be tamed and mated with to produce Hybrids which would unlock new Genetics that come with them. Sadly they can't breath fire and the Hybrids could be hard to produce as the Dragons Fertility could be low.

 

Possible New Genetics.

Flame Dragon:

Flame Dragon Tail: Strength +2, Heat resistance +1

Flame Dragon Claws: Strength +2,  Speed +2,

Flame Dragon Hind legs: Heat resistance +2, Speed +1

Flame Dragon Snout: Smelling+2, Strength +2, Distasteful Appearance

Flame Dragon horns: Strength + 2

Flame Dragon Body: Heat Resistance +3, Flight

Frost Dragon:

Frost Dragon Tail: Stealth +2, Cold resistance +1

Frost Dragon Claws : Strength +2, Gathering +2, Stealth +1

Frost Dragon Hind legs: Stealth +2, Speed +1

Frost Dragon Snout: Smelling+2, Distasteful Appearance, Venomous

Frost Dragon horns: Strength + 3

Frost Dragon Body: Cold Resistance +3, Flight

Eyes & Ears are the same for both Variants

Dragon ears: Hearing +3

Dragon Eyes: Sight + 4

All the new genetics will be very recessive.

I've seen this all over the place, the suggestion to add dragons to the game.

 

Honestly, I'd prefer they didn't appear. I love dragons, don't get me wrong, but, I like that Niche has entirely unique creatures featured. Dragons are everywhere right now, and it's getting to be a little, too much.

 

That aside, dragons are extremely powerful mythical beasts, too much so for a game like this I think. Too add them as possible hybrids sounds a bit like cheating to me.

Maybe instead of proper dragons, just a flying reptile? Has scales, clawed feet and general reptilian appearance, with bird beak, feathery tail and wings?

 

I know it's not a dragon, but I feel like it would be more in line with Niche's cobbled together mash up creatures.
