  1. As their friendship slowly blossoms into romance Kura discovers that she is pregnant. The two of them are overjoyed and excited to start raising a family together. During the early morning hours, a cub is born!
  2. The pain of loosing her mother is increased tenfold as Kura realises that this must mean that Adam must have aged and passed away as well, forever separating him from how she still views him in her mind's eye - young and healthy. Grieving, she spends the next two days huddled into herself, only getting up to feed herself. On the morning of the third day, she suddenly hears water splashing. The very curiosity she inherited from her mother is now the reason she is able to get up at all, investigating the noise. To her surprise Kura finds another nicheling fishing at the shore. For the first time in two days she experiences an emotion other than deep sadness - joy and surprise. Jumping into the shallow water Kura greets the nexcomer joyously. He introduces himself as Lilur, a native to the island who went out looking for company after his parents died. While they are talking, clouds form once again and downpour starts. Kura is in awe - for all her life, rain had always preceded an important event. She is suddenly confident that Lilur will become an important part of her life soon. And so it is. The mischievous friend brings new happiness into her life and Kura quickly starts to value his kindness and honesty more than anything else.
  3. The days seem to fly by, with Kura and Eve slowly making a home for themselves on this new island. The ache in Kura's heart has become easier to bear and the dreams she has of returning to her father are now more happy than sad. However, as dark clouds on the horizon announce the incoming rain, a now aged Eve feels suddenly weakened. More by instinct that by knowledge Kura curls around her mother's body, surprised to find that the once strong nicheling is now thin and weak. As the night passes and rain falls down onto their bodies Eve passes away, leaving her daughter to wake up alone.
  4. Eve notices her daughter's sorrow and comes to comfort her, telling her that sometimes making the right decision hurts just as bad as making the wrong one. Kura realises that even though the weight of leaving her father will never fully leave her, she still has her mother. Together, the two of them explore the island and Eve teaches her daughter more about the customs of her original tribe.
  5. (Okay let us hope that there will actually be some wanderers spawning because I have had entire lore playthroughs destroyed by a lack of wanderers.) I'll play on a little to see what happens and if no company spawns then I will just use the save file from now that I stored somewhere else to restart.
  6. While Eve starts to make the new island into a home, Kura grows her third gem. She feels overwhelmed by sadness as she looks into the wastness of the sea, wishing more than anything that her father was here with her.
  7. Guys I promise I didn't mean to make this sad it just happened naturally.
  8. Arriving at their new home, both Eve and Kura feel bittersweet.
  9. It is time for Adam to say goodbye. It is hard watching his daughter leave but he knows it is for the best. Kura is devastated, battling with the complicated feeling of wanting to travel on and knowing that following her dreams means never seeing her father again.
  10. While Eve begins her preparations to travel Adam and Kura share a quiet moment together after he has given her some hunting advice. He explains to her how he was ripped away from his family and where to find his past Home.
  11. Kura has just grown her second gem when the dispute between her parents escalates. Adam is refusing to move, begging Eve to stay here instead. After sending Kura off to hunt Eve has a serious talk with Adam, explaining that even though she likes him a lot, staying on this island would mean for her to give up her dreams of traveling. It is at this point that Kura returns with a freshly hunter rabbil, clearly overjoyed. While he praises his daughter Adam realises that he can't let his fears define his daughter's future. It is a heavy decision, but he feels calm. Letting his daughter and Eve go is the right choice.
  12. With rain promising more berries the birth of the young female seems blessed. Her parents decide to name her Kura, after one of Adam's sisters. Adam proposes to have another cub, but Eve replies that traveling with one kit is a hard enough job and that they should think of those things only when they have reached their new home. Adam doesn't reply, instead starting to pick berries.
  13. While Adam is out hunting for his family Eve builds herself a nest. The next morning, she has given birth to a daughter.
  14. The island is small and quite empty. Eve starts to get restless, clearly wishing to travel on. Adam, sensing this is quick to divert her attention in an attempt to make her stay. He proposes to start a family. Eve is a little reluctant at first, given how young they both are. Yet after thinking it over some more, she agrees.
  15. After having been dropped off by the blue bird Adam is frightened and hides beneath a berry bush for quite some time before making his way to the shore. Despite being able to travel on, his experience with the blue bird has made him reluctant to travel and scared of the unknown. Only when he has grown his first gem is Adam ready to travel on, vowing to himself that this will be the last time he goes through such an ordeal. After arriving at his new home Adam is quick to make out the scent of another nicheling. Her name is Eve. Coming from a tribe filled with wanderers she traveled to this island when she was but a two-gem, fulfilling her family's tradition of each generation traveling at least once. She is brimming with life and energy and takes a quick liking to her new companion.
  16. Also I will be documenting the family lineage via this family tree: https://www.familyecho.com/?p=START&c=yf3glbp8d8&f=298343030153581516
  17. Hello and welcome to "an attempt" where I will be making - an attempt - at a lore/rp-filled story mode playthrough that I don't abandon because I loose track of who is who. Or at least I will be attempting to do so.
  18. Well yeah technically but I continued playing with it for about a month after uploading this one, and it is now painfully outdated. Talking 3-5 generations earlier than where I was when I stopped.
  19. It seems the save file for this playthrough has been lost or deleted, so I guess I'll have to officially declare this dead.
  20. The reason I came up with this is because I accidentally started a challenge with this setup once and then somehow didn't notice until I was three tries in.
  21. If you need more details let me know, I'll do my best to recall them.
  22. Finally found screenshots of the one and only recorded unborn baby I have. I don't have full genetics for both parents, but I can speculate. Father's genes: Nuduk is the cub's father. The following information I was able to figure out due to looking at screenshots of his parents. Mother's genes: Emifi appears to have been a wanderer, so I can't say too much about her genes. However, the following are my speculations (fertility can be switched out to be no fertility and high fertility, which would suit her rogue parentage better): Father's personality: Nuduk was born into the tribe after a few generations. Accustomed to the icy and unforgiven landscape he was calm, collected and could sometimes seem cold towards others. Despite being rather serious and not allowing his emotions to interfere with his judgement, he was very valued in his role as a calming presence and as a healer. Mother's personality: Emifi joined the tribe shortly before a time of scarce food began. Due to her background of not only being a wanderer but also a rogue's child she is tough and durable, a survivor and a fighter. Emifi is witty and crafty. Parents' standing in tribe: Nuduk was a highly regarded healer as well as part of the leader family. Emifi was given the rank of an omega due to her physical deformities and treated rather harshly. Notable relatives: A rogue male grandfather and a paternal line of strong leaders. Reason for never being born: Emifi was pregnant during a time of famine. Both she and her unborn child were deemed unworthy of the scarce food the tribe had. Additionally she had been separated from the tribe during a snow storm and her child would have not survived for long after birth. Other: I was playing with random mutations. Dad's mutations were no fertility and heat body. Mom's mutations were black eyes and something unknown, perhaps antlers or digging trunk. I also headcanon rogue males to be quite smart, but in a kind of gnarly, survival-smart kind of way. This is because they are apparently able to feed themselves well enough to constantly attempt to mate with females, despite having no functional paws. Therefore I usually roleplay that rogue-offspring inherit some of their wicked intelligence. Since the unborn cub's mother was a half-rogue this could somehow also translate into the cub.
  23. I've been pretty much everywhere with them already - Frost Lands probably around 3-5 times, getting all the ancient genes took way too long. I usually only keep tribes around that I manage to rp with, but this one was made waaay before I even started that (it is probably about two years old by now) and I'm struggling a little with switching playstyles all of a sudden. Conquering Home Island sounds fun actually - is it possible to whipe out Adam's tribe?
  24. This challenge focuses primarily on Immunity Genes. It is fairly simple, there are only three rules: -You cannot start with only one nicheling. -All of your starters have the A and B immunity. -You can only mate with/invite nichelings that have at least one of your starter immunitites. -Additionally you can make it so that nichelings born with two different immunities can only stay in the tribe if said immunities are already there paired with either immunity A or B. So say you have a cub born with Immunity D and E. Unless there are already nichelings with A/B and D as well as nichelings with A/B and E you can't keep this cub. -Furthermore you can make it so that you aren't allowed to banish sick tribe members. Please let me know how this goes!
  25. The apes are pretty much some of the most terrifying predators in niche. Killing one is a huge accomplishment and killing all three different kinds of them needs at least a certain level of devotion. I think that would be worthy of its own achievement. Another fun achievement could be one for killing a peaceful bear, it could be named "Anti-Pacifist" or something along these lines.
