  1. thge_es08ddq7eeh Im terrible at this! 😂
  2. Lilyeudt 😂😂 At least I got Lily right
  3. Wow really? Okay well this challenge has become just a little easier
  4. I like this version much better! Upvoted!
  5. I would have banished and killed him but I didn't want my nichelings getting hurt by his spikes. Also you have to wait for them to grow to banish them so he wasted a few days less of food dying as a child. 🤧 Oh nooo 😂😭
  6. I feel terrible as well you have no idea, and I know you're pretty fond of derp snout too so that probably makes it worse! But I had like no food and I needed him to go fast. T_T If I ever have a rogue baby again I'll keep it and name it Basil after you.
  7. I tried the hard version. hopefully things turn out better soon
  8. I'm trying to do my challenge, which you can find right here! I'm doing the hard version, where I completely rely on mutations and wanderer genes only to try to adapt to my environment. Wish me luck please 😓 We begin with, from left to right, Zatala, Anamera, and Zerolur. Jungle creatures, who have stumbled onto the wrong island. Spots for camouflage, toxic body and stinky tails to ward of predators, velvet paws to tiptoe across the jungle floor. Zerolur even has bird beak to help him pick at termites from their mounds, and a lean body to help him stay cool in the heat (completely forgot that big ears could've also been added, oops). But none of these helpful jungle genes will do them good in the freezing snow. Hesitantly they begin to explore. help me please Okay well apparently termite mounds occur on snow islands. Guess Zerolur's beak just became way more handy. He slurps some up and mates with Anamera, who quickly settles down in a nest. Zatala manages to snag a rabbil. So far so good, but there seems to be something rustling in the grass... Anamera gives birth to her first child, a bearyena headed male named Tano. Unfortunately he inherits his father's lean body, but overall he isn't so bad. Zerolur and Zatala focus on providing food for the small group, but they are eyeing each other through the grass blades. They mate the next day, and Anamera takes her first step onto the hard ground of the snow island. It feels unfamiliar and foreboding under her paws, yet she chooses to stay. It is her new home and she'll have to get used to it. Zatala gives birth to a beautiful son, Vankirkir, that has her tortoiseshell markings. He also sports a purr snout and luckily, medium body. I can tell he'll come to his tribe's aid later, healing them after attacks or hunger pangs. Two days later Zatala gives birth to twins, boys named Twizzler and Tango. They are nearly the same, except Tango has some antennae. Anamera also gives birth to a boy named Strawberry (so many boys oh god) and Zerolur continues to harvest termites and guard his children. Tragedy strikes. Zatala is attacked by a rogue male when trying to pick berries and becomes pregnant. Zerolur chases the male off, but he doesn't go very far. Twizzler and Tango watch in shock as the sudden scene plays out in front of them. Vankirkir however finds a new face skittering across the roots of a nearby acorn Tree. A lovely female his age, Ladybug. Unfortuantely she is quite slow and shows hints of aquatic ancestry, but Vankirkir could care less. Risking the growing group's food stores, he invites her into the tribe. Cold suddenly descends on the tribe, chilling Anamera to her bones. Tango and Vankirkir quickly jump to her side, warming her up. Twizzler meanwhile investigates his half-brother Strawberry, a red and pink strange looking fella. The two play-wrestle while Zatala's rogue attacker lurks nearby. The rogue's son, born a day or two before, has been tossed into the sea by Zerolur himself. He had twittered in satisfaction as the infant sank below the surface. Chaos. A mother bearyena and her cub pass by, leaving bleeding claw marks on Zerolur's and Zatala's hides. Tano, now grown and an excellent food provider, spots a bluebird up ahead. The weather grows colder. But the tribe isn't doomed yet. Tango, Strawberry, and Tano work together to bring the mother bearyena down. The bearyena cub scuttles away, and fortunately the rogue male dives into the sea, seemingly searching for his drowning son. Hopefully he drowns in the process am I right Soon it will begin to snow, and the tribe knows it. They huddle together, providing each other warmth and company. Strawberry and his other half-brother Tango settle next to a vulnerable Anamera and prepare for the first snowflakes to fall. The others try desperately to gather food for the coming freezing days. And sadly, Zatala's rogue son joins the crabbits and seaweed in a watery grave... honestly I feel so bad I've never purposefully killed a nicheling That's part one for now! Hopefully things look up next time, but that doesn't seem likely...
  9. Yep I learned that pretty quickly just now attempting the challenge (I've never played with snow biomes lol). We definitely need a cool down action, like licking your Nichelings or something, similar to kangaroos.
  10. Honestly it probably would, since other than the terrible cold resistance there wouldn't be much problems. But the problem is you have to survive long enough to get cold resistant genes in lol
  11. Hey, back with another challenge that I made up in a few minutes and that someone has probably already made. I don't know how to introduce posts so let's just jump into it shall we? Not My Island Challenge The goal of the Not My Island Challenge is to adapt. I know, that's basically what Niche is, but let me elaborate. You must start off on an island that is the completely wrong environment for your Nichelings. With the new sandbox settings, you must create creatures that are adapted for a certain environment and toss them into a different one. There are three levels of intensity: Easy~ Create Nichelings with some adaptions in their dominant alleles already, so you can just work to breed those in and make them adapt quickly. Moderate~ Create Nichelings that are adapted to a different environment but have recessive (or randomized) genes that will help them with their new island. You can try to breed these recessive genes out to dominant so you can adapt. Hard~ Create Nichelings that have the completely wrong genes in their dominant and recessive alleles. You must rely on unlocking mutations and breeding with wanderers to adapt. Examples, me putting animals specialized for life in water onto a Whale Island. Or creating Jungle creatures and putting them on a Snowy Mountain. The goal is to fully adapt to the island. You cannot have any of your beginning genes in your dominant or recessive alleles! So yeah that's pretty much it. I might start this challenge soon, I'll link it here as a playthrough later:
  12. Block on Insta, we don't stan rogue males
  13. I definitely hope to start a comic soon!
  14. Aw thanks, that would be very much appreciated!
  15. Vankirvan is my main nicheling OC, and really the only Nicheling I've gotten really attached to (so far). In the beginning I didn't have the game though; I had created him by studying the genes of the game and drawing him from there, and so, I made a backstory (which has changed quite a lot by now). He has a missing medium tail, since he was attacked by a bearyena as a child. He was rescued and raised by all his older siblings until he was healthy once more, and by then he had developed a hatred for bearyenas. His tribe later found a baby bearyena, which Vankirvan tried to lead away and loose among the grasses. But his only younger sibling, Tarela, caught him and brought the bearyena back. Vankirvan watched as it grew, growing more fearful of it by the day even though his siblings always made sure it stayed away from him. But his fear turned to dread when he realized Tarela had fallen in love with Don (the bearyena) and was expecting his baby. The baby was born, a male named Clawduk, with a monstrous bearyena face. And things only grew worse after Vankirvan and Clawduk were swept away from their island during a storm and washed up in a jungle a few islands away. Now Vankirvan must raise his sister's monster baby and get them both out of the danger-filled jungle alive... I was thinking of making a comic about Vankirvan's full story, what do you think? Anyways, here's the first version of him. His horns, poison fangs, medium ears, hind legs, and lean body have never changed. Mind you this was back when there were only stripes and panda pattern for markings. (2016) This next version of him was created after the new pattern system came out. I didn't know how they worked so I just drew whatever pattern came to mind. This version of him also has a runner leg and a velvet paw, just like his next one. (2017) These next two versions are final, current versions, mostly the first one since he has his runner leg and velvet paw. For some reason I gave the most recent one a nimble fingers and a runner leg. I like his tenrec-like face in the 2017 one, but I think I drew his body better in the 2018 version. (2017) (2018) And I was originally going to try and create him through breeding, but with this new update I can MAKE HIM! So I did, and I finally have him IN MY GAME!
  16. Wow Honeycomb is beautiful, those colors and patterns go amazing together!
  17. What was wrong with the stinky fruits? I hadn't noticed a problem in my game
  18. Oh and I also shared it on steam just in case anyone wanted to check it out!
  19. I linked it in my Zukvanku art post, but I hadn't realized there was a section just for challenges.
  20. I'm just going to leave the link for it here. It's a google doc and it goes right into detail on how the challenge works. To sum it up though, you must create a colony of 60 zebra-like nichelings with specific traits. Zukvanku here is nearly a perfect specimen.
  21. Thank you! You must be the Jojo that I see on steam all the time right?
