Thanks for breaking niche logic, Tanu.

he's the god of love and lust, and if it means breaking the rules to have that, well he's certainly not complaining /j

I guess my source was wrong, then. Or not, I don't care much about insects, but I wrote my final english paper partly on what includes intelligence in animals. It definitely does not or we'd get some interesting legal problems very soon

oh god yeah, thatll be a Thing in the future if we prove that some animals are sophontic

I read this before, but it doesn't say they're the same. There's also only few select intelligent (often social) spiders, by far not all of them

tbh, they have emotions and such, im willing to class it as similar enough to warrant the term same

also, fun fact, not always! its actually more likely to be the cannibalistic spiders

What. That's impossible, they can't even use tools let alone communicate on the same level. Not to mention memory tasks. how

the spiders brain is actually located primarily within the web! when the web is taken away, these cogitative abilities go down! ^^

'It's part of a theory of mind known as "extended cognition," and humans utilize it too. For instance, we might like to think of our minds as contained in our heads, but we rely on a number of structures outside of our heads (and even outside of our bodies) to help us think. Computers and calculators are an obvious example. We organize our living spaces to help us remember where things are, we jot notes, and we take photographs or store mementos.

But these examples pale in comparison to how a spider's thinking is interwoven with its web. Scientists are discovering that some spiders possess cognitive abilities rivalling those of mammals and birds (such as crows), including foresight and planning, complex learning, and even the capacity to be surprised.'

"That's twisted. I mean I know some cats like keeping score about how many they killed but this is new." Mika touch one of the hats.

the hat is soft- softer than anything you've ever felt, but it drags against your mind like sandpaper.

  6. 1 minute ago, FawnCat said:

Mika backs off slowly, "Your a real nutty Hatter aren't you?" She looks at all the hats. "Well I would be too in this place. So, your dead but not?"

"nobody can die in wonderland, not really. we just learn to deal with it." he laughs, harsh. "i would know. highest death-life toll in wonderland. there's a leaderboard." he chokes the word out, as if it were poisoning him. "it's by the golden tree covered in feathers."

Gylra looked around at the hats, narrowing her eyes.

"Making hats all day can't be fun. Your paws have gotta be sore."

"...you get used to it after a while. i've had worse things happen to punish me in my dead-life."

They wince dropping the needle, imagining the heavy swing of an axe blade connecting to the base of their next then nothingness.

Mika flinch at the decapitated part. "That's heavy." Her paws carry her to his side. "So, where is the next hat? Why do you listen to the queen anyway?"

"i entered illegally." hatter mutters, idly sewing the velvet of a hat. "the queens need to send me back home, and they need a hat to do it, but i'm the only one who can make the hats well enough for one to even start to become a conduit. so, hat then punishment then hat then punishment-" he continues to rattle the loop on, eyes low and tail twitching.

Mika walks in and stare at all the mess. "Not a tidy cat." She mumbles. Her eyes land on the similar hat. "Why have so many? Is everyone to wear one?"

    1 minute ago, Flower said:

“Hats.” They note. “And plenty of sharp objects.” They add, picking up a needle

"these things costed my dead-life, life-dead all over," he pauses. "they act as conduits to magic," hatter laughs, and his paw rubs at his neck. "but only if made correctly- and every hat made that wasn't a conduit, the queens had me decapitated." he stares, warily, at the hats. "i have made over four thousand hats. none of them have worked yet."

  10. 1 minute ago, FawnCat said:

Mika scoffs. "Mr mystery Hatter. She could have given it to you because she thinks you daft, how should I know." She pace after him eyeing the rattling doors casually. "So, you do have friends?"

"ah, yes, how forgetful of me." he says, dull, broken, all over again. "they're here to make the hats too," he adds, after an uncomfortable beat of silence.

    2 minutes ago, Flower said:

“Big.” They noted. “Pretty big for only one cat.” They said suspiciously

"wasn't always one cat," hatter mutters, opening the faintly glowing door- to a large crafting room. the sun filters through a window above you all, and in the middle of the room various hats are thrown about in different states of disrepair. scissors and needles, felt and thread are all accumulated on the table, and on the wall to your left, there is a lighted rack of hats all similar to the one the hatter is wearing.

  11. 1 minute ago, Clover said:

"Nice place you have here." Gylra said dryly, looking around at the place. "Looks more spacious from the outside."

    1 minute ago, FawnCat said:

"Isn't it a bit big for only one cat?" She peeks around at all the stuff.

hatter ignores the quip, raising an eyebrow at Gylra (as if to question her).

then, he turns to Mika, with a sigh. "why do you think the queens gave me it, hm?" he does the same dry laugh as before, padding down the hallway, making his way down towards one with a faint glow. some of the doors rattle in their place as he passes.

  12. 1 minute ago, FawnCat said:

Mika noted that down and light touch it with a paw first. "Nothing seems to burning." She shrugs and enter.

Inside is larger than you could have imagined. The living room is expansive, with a bar at the edge and a table in the center. There's a large hallway at the end of the room, and you can already see the many rooms through the dark.
