  1. Heya! I heard a feature like this is already done. I believe that if you push TAB, it will take you to a creature who still has actions. Correct me if I'm wrong!
  2. I quite like this idea! Adding aging to our Nichelings adds in that simple realism that makes it almost more realistic! Another thing that can be done is adding a new section in general for Nichelings. This could make them have blurry vision, which allows them to perhaps see something that isn't truly there, or just act as short sighted eyes. Another thing would be it adds a risk factor when breeding a Nicheling of old age, along with it being harder to conceive a child.
  3. I really love this idea! Adding in natural disasters could force players to take actions they normally wouldn't, allowing them to try new things. Perhaps new genes and flora could also be added to aid animals when something happens.
  4. I really love this idea, especially the Flora additions! Currently, Niche doesn't have too much variety in their plant life, and this would make trying to get new genes to use different Flora exciting! Not only this, but it also will make it a challenge for those who want one.
  5. Thank you for your ideas! I personally think sharing resources could be done through alliances. A Nicheling Alpha could perhaps make their way to an Alpha of another tribe, then offer some nesting materials or a mate with new genes in return for food, etc. I also agree with breeding requiring confirmation, so a pop up on that player's screen would appear and ask if they would agree to the breeding, along with comparing genes of that creature to their own.
  6. Hello, hello! To begin, I’d like to note that I understand there are at least 2 other threads on this topic, however, mine will be going into much greater depth of how a Multiplayer Mode for Niche could exist. I would like to address there WILL be a lot- if not a few challenges that will be faced, such as how many people can play together at once? How will movement work? And I have to say, my ideas may NOT work and will take some insight on it. To start, movement on turns is a very large aspect of Niche, which could cause a Multiplayer Mode to not exist. However, there is a variety of ways this could work. One of which could be each person takes turns on making an action, though the problem with this is if someone takes an incredibly long time to move or take an action, the other may get very bored. Another option is to allow each player to take a movement whenever they want, so Player A can do something the same time as Player B, similar to how a Rogue Male or Lone Nicheling would. Personally, I enjoy the idea of Player A and Player B taking turns at the same time, at their own pace. I understand some problems could occur, such as if you want to attack another Nicheling of theirs, for whatever reason unknown. A way to solve this type of action could be a Player has their own tribe which their Nichelings belong to. To start a war and be allowed to attack, you have to declare war first before any wars may occur. Now that all of this is out of the way, I truly hope you consider my ideas and insight of how this could be put together. A Multiplayer Mode of Niche would make mine and many others’ experiences much more enjoyable than it already has been throughout the year of development. Please add on with anything you think would improve this!
  7. Hello, hello! As I write this, I would like to explain that I mean no offense to how the Water Aspect of Niche was put together, and I only want to improve on how it could be more enjoyable to live as an Ocean Based Nicheling. One way this could be done is through more genes, but not just any new body genes- new slots specifically for the ocean. These slots would be similar to the albinism/melanism, whereas if you don’t have it, the slot is greyed out and must be achieved through Natural Selection of breeding outside the tribe, or taking actions in small pools of water (for the chance slots) and eventually being submerged fully underwater (for the obtained slots). This could really make an underwater playthrough more interesting in many ways. An example of how this could be good is now that you have these slots which could be for breathing, camouflage, speed, etc, you can now use the slots which would have previously been taken up (Water Body or Gills) for something more exciting and practical. Another thing that can be done for a better Ocean Playthrough is more food sources, such as a plant that grows back a certain amount each turn, much like a Berry Bush, mostly to make things a bit easier and not have all your creatures starve if you’re not good at fishing (or hunting in general). Finally, my last suggestion to this topic would be more scenery (along with more interesting terrain on the floors) to the oceans and lakes, such as pretty submerged flowers, corals, and well- color! A colorful area underwater full of aquatic animals and scenery would certainly have many players find the scary waters not so gloomy. Thank you very much for taking your time to read through all of my ideas. Please feel free to expand onto them!
  8. Hello, hello! As of recently, I noticed how stiff our Nichelings truly are. They blink now, which is a huge improvement that I love! But I feel like much more could be done to have them feel more alive! One thing that could be done is small idle animations. These can be as simple as to looking around themselves on their own, sitting proudly and puffing their chests out, sniffing the air briefly, chasing their tails, and so much more! If I saw my Nicheling move around idly, I would be VERY impressed, especially if actions (Other than moving tiles) had animations to go with it. Not only could they do animations as they wait for a turn to be used, but they could also have cute animations while they sleep, such as curling up into a ball of fluff, or trying to chase down those pesky Crabbits in their sleep! Now, not only could Idle Animation be done, but so could relationship status be done. There can be options when two Nichelings are next to each other to interact by making sounds, grooming each other, playing, growling, etc. The actions would also have their own small animations, and any action you choose dictate how they view each other in a storytelling perspective, not much more, but still very interesting if added in. Thank you for reading through this, I hope you enjoyed my ideas! If there is anything you would like to add, please do!
