This thing looks like a freaking dinosaur, I love it Fun fact: The young of these birds have claws on their wings. Here's a photo where the claws are visible Fun fact 2: They eat mostly leaves. The way they digest these makes them smell bad so they're nicknamed 'Stinkbirds' 5

BirbPolly Posted April 19, 2024 Author Posted April 19, 2024 Birb of the day is back! This time I won't make up for missed days, it's been a few months. 19th April- Philippine dwarf kingfisher! Wins the title for looking fantastic and also silly Fun fact: there are multiple subspecies of this bird. While the southern subspecies has a more intense purple, the northern subspecies have blue spotting on their wings. (this makes me want to modify the design of my birb fursona, Lo-Fi, with inspiration from these guys (paticularly the second picture) 1 6
