Improving the family tree

The family tree is little bit difficult to follow...  Perhaps doing something like the family tree in The Sims 3 or Crusaders Kings (with pictures + only one family tree for each character). Otherwise, it can be confusing. It would also be nice to keep all the ancestors since it's fun to see the evolution over many generations!

I agree the tree is very busy and like your idea but thought  to make it easier for the devs there could be a column on the left side top to bottom in alphabetical order like

() Bob

() Christine

() Eve

Then when you click on the name it moves to the center like

                                                                                                            () sibling                                                    () sibling

 

                                                                                                                  () offspring      () offspring      () offspring

 

This way you know not to breed with these members. The () represents the color circle meaning a boy or girl but that could be easier if the names were the color of the sex so Adam would be in Blue and Eve in Pink.
