New Genes 065: Jellyfish (there are quite a few)

Biogamer

Post

The jellyfish are hands down one of natures most successful organism, outliving most organisms including the dinosaurs. And because of this the Jelly fish would be one of the most interesting options for genes for Niche. First would be  the obvious jellyfish stingers (be a tail gene) which would be unlocked by swimming 10 times (the don't really swim) and collecting toxic sea plants (explained at bottom). The effects would be +3 venomous and +1 poison resistance. Next the Bell Body would be the jellyfishes bell like body and would be unlocked by surviving 70 days and swimming 50 times. The effects would be +2 scentless, +1 distasteful appearance, +1 swimming, +1 underwater breathing (sort of) and -1 defence (they aren't exactly titanium). The Jelly Body would look similar to a toxic body but see through and no organs wouldn't be showed because it would look slightly disturbing as well as looking inaccurate.

Finally hands down the most broken gene the immortality gene, let me explain. This gene would be based of the Turritopsis dohrnii jellyfish a species of jellyfish that when near death can turn their cells young and then repeat the whole process of the life. This gene would be unlocked by surviving for a reasonable 1000  or more days. The effects would be when the nicheling is at its final day they would turn back into a new born baby nicheling. However the baby would be the same as a regular nicheling (obviously). But in order to make it more balanced the nicheling must live to its maximum lifespan also it would be the rarest gene in the entire game and it would be a new gene slot were both sides of the gene must be with the immortality gene other wise it would not have effect if not be 50/50.

So just toxic berry bushes but set in water environments. They would be more common in archipelago, swamps and jungle waters and be rarer in savannah and tundra island waters.

Hope this was interesting, Sincerely Biogamer.
