Lost in the Grasses

The Walrus

Recommended Posts

Two sisters jumped from stone to stone, said stones falling into the vast ocean shortly after. Panting, the bright yellow one leaped onto a grassy outcropping in front of her, and turned around only to see her sister frantically splashing in the cold water below. Reaching out her good paw, Prosi inched closer to the water and grabbed onto Bear, hauling the wet orange Nicheling out of the sea and onto dry land. Bear coughed up water a few times, before being pulled into a tight hug.

They may only have a few dried-up roots to their name, but hey, they were alive! Even if they had no clue where they were...

P.S. This is my first playthrough, so wish me luck! Prosi and Bear aren't my Nichelings, I was just given permission to make this by their creators?? Owners?? idk, go check out Dysfunctional Numbers Foxy :) and if you want to read the playthrough these two originated from, here!

Startled by the fact that Bear almost died, Prosi nervously digs up a root and clears away some of the grasses. Bear, on the other hand, is unfazed and leaps (literally) into action, attempting to grab some berries for her sister. Instead, all she manages to get are sticky purple paws. Why can't I gather like everyone else can? I have a similar paw to others that brought so many berries to the tribe, and here I am crushing our only reliable food source. Why can't I do anything right? Why?

Day 1:

"Prosi! In case you're having trouble finding roots, I decided that I'll find them for you!" Bear announced with pride the next day. Prosi nodded and climbed up the ledge to follow, but still, she was confused. Why wouldn't Bear just stay at the wilted berry bush, where berries lay ripe for the picking?

Days 2 and 3:

Day 2 went by normally, Bear leading her confused sister to roots.20200506170711_1.thumb.jpg.835ee9c95d4e60efa67ea90b7baecb45.jpg

Day 3 however, became worrisome, as Bear informed Prosi that "I can't find any roots anywhere, but I'm sure we will tomorrow!". Out of worry and desperation, when Bear went to sleep Prosi rammed into a nearby termite nest, hoping to collect some food. However, all Prosi managed to collect was stings from angry termites.20200506170825_1.thumb.jpg.f3508920f21a2913652e611f63bf86d4.jpg20200506170853_1.thumb.jpg.29782d12bd268a6c3385d8b829443085.jpg

Day 4:

"OH MY GOSH! PROSI WHAT HAPPENED?" Bear shrieked as the sun rose, licking off the angered termites and unsuccessfully trying to collect more for food. Prosi didn't say anything, afraid of being yelled at and abandoned. However, the termites ended up doing a substantial amount of damage to Prosi, and her lifespan shortened by ten days.20200506171445_1.thumb.jpg.0fb6aa2bae2ecc24aa095112102470a7.jpg

Prosi became certain that Bear would abandon her, as she was a failure anyways. So, once again, in the night, the bright-furred Nicheling slipped away, into the grasses, and in search of roots.20200506171510_1.thumb.jpg.5b23c71d5dbb9162e8a9267a6407d9a7.jpg

Day 5:

Bear awoke to no sight or scent of Prosi, and just more angry termites. She ran all over their little outpost, calling for Prosi, but there was no response. As the sun set, Bear stuffed her face full of crushed berries and wailed at the gods.20200506172232_1.thumb.jpg.77ea37a88710d27c35e9d7b4316dc4fd.jpg

Meanwhile, Prosi was sure that she was hallucinating, as she almost heard Bear's voice calling for her. No matter, going back to her sister would only earn her punishment. So, Prosi continued forth, into the wilderness, digging up roots as she went.20200506172945_1.thumb.jpg.f8233bd1ef4204287eb5df708957147e.jpg
