@MysticTopaz I do get that ^^ but it still stands that there is already an active suggestion for something like this right now
I do appreciate the upvote. Not trying to come off as defensive, as I'd like to assume you're not trying to be rude or dismissive, so please don't take this the wrong way:
I really don't see the purpose of you pointing this out to me, unless you're suggesting I get rid of this, in which case, should I then go to their post and say "Oh hey btw, I posted something vaguely similar to this in November of last year, so this thing you posted basically already existed before you posted it"?I mean, what you said to me basically boils down to, "I get that you came first, but they've posted their idea, which is vaguely connected to yours at best, more recently, so by reposting your old idea you're stealing from them instead of them stealing from you" and that doesn't make any sense to me.

I love that creature!
Her name is Rereme <3 She was in one of my older games and I loved her pattern so much.

Shouldn't the maw add fishing, too? Otherwise, I loved this idea and still do! I love the underwater part of the game, so I'm disappointed there's limited heads and stuff.
Why do I always forget that? I mean it, but I guess my brain is like "well, it's /implied/" and I never actually add it.

In nature, animals sometimes employ tricky tactics to avoid critical damage. This tail is such an evolutionary step for Nichelings.
This tail has but one ability: once per day, when attacked, the first attack will not do any damage, as the attacker is actually attacking the decoy tail, but after the initial attack the attacker then realizes where the true target is. The eye-spots on the tail would be the same color as the nicheling's eyes.

Based off the ever-famous Boar, this head is as tough as it looks!
Adds +1 strength, +1 digging, +1 gathering, and +1 defense. Because Boar.

OH MY GOSH IT'S SO CUTE!!!
I like the color variants- maybe they're depending on the type of island? Gold for savannah/archipelago/whale island, grey for swamp/jungle/home island, and blue for everything else? <3
Also maybe it could be Kangauirrel [pronounced Kanga-whirl]?

IT'S BACK!!! And still as creepy as ever...
This is a suggestion from last year, and honestly I find the appearance intimidating, but I love the idea anyway! Based off of Angler Fish, this Glamour Maw has little blue gill thingies on the sides of the face just like the Gill head, but this one has more than underwater breathing to offer: a constant attraction effect similar to that of the Peacock Tail, but instead of attracting mates it attracts prey items such as fish and rabbils. The fishing bulb would be the same color as the nicheling's eyes, just to make things easier. And thanks to that attractive bulb, it gains +1 fishing. Plus it could have +1 strength, because of all those teeth. Not sure if it would have a sense of smell, though- not sure if it's of any use in the water.

I mean that males would have the bearyena-hair-thing on their head even without bearyena snout
Ohhh okay, that's cool too!

Based off of ants, I figure I can bring this head back into the active suggestions now that we have antennae Last year an insect head was deemed far-fetched, but I figure it's a little less so at this point. ❤️ This was, after all, my personal favorite among all my suggestions from last year
Consider this head a jack of all trades- except smelling. It can't smell worth a lick. But dangit, it's cute, so I'd be willing to overlook that. It gives +1 strength, +1 gathering, +1 cracking, and +1 digging. The eye would also be a solid color with no iris/pupil, and would bulge out a little from the head."But Mystic, what do we have to do to gain this new gene?!" Easy- STARVE your nichelings. What? You have to take physical damage to gain Spikey Body, so having to starve in order to gain Clever Jaw isn't that much of a stretch.

Also a bearyena mane would be nice
You mean no mane at all? There's like no sexual dimorphism between male and female bearyenas

Just now, Lilytuft said:
But if mane genes got added, it would be a really nice mane gene, that could only be accessed by breeding with a liotah. But if it doesn't get added, your idea is really nice too :). I was just thinking of a fun way these ideas could work together!
True, very true; if they do add different mane genes, I could see Liotah Mane being a thing~

i like this idea, could inadvertently get the whole "There's another tribe sharing this island with you" feel from it. And you could even intentionally leave behind rouge-born children for the rouge females to pick up and take care of!
Exactly! 8D

Maybe it could have a liotah mane gene?
I briefly explained in my post that the Liotah Body and Liotah Head had gender dimorphism and look different from normal manes, so yeah, it's a thing, just not a 'mane gene', because, as far as I know, there is no such thing as a 'mane gene'.

I love its colours. It reminds me of a tribe I had living in the Grass Mingle whose population consisted mostly of creatures with black fur and orange spots.
That actually sounds like a very neat tribe! 8D Got any pictures? I'd love to see that!

I'm kind of in the same boat as @TamTroll .
However, I do want more hybrids than just the bearyena, I always have. I'd be happy with orcolf and ramfox hybrids, since it even says on the wiki that ramfoxes could be distant relatives of nichelings (whether or not this is true I don't know). The other animals make less sense as hybrids though, but as predators they would be good.
To be honest, I made all of these /possibly/ breedable because I genuinely don't believe my ideas will be implemented, and if so then maybe only one out of all of them, so that's why I made them all possibly breedable, because really, you'd only get one anyway, and the rest are just scraps. Because I've played sooo many hours of this game that more hybrids I think would help spice things up. Gives me more genes to hunt down.

If the nechelings with this head look like Grabber Gob then finding a baby one of these would make me ecstatic. Also I noticed a creature with all crark limbs has 0 move, so does the mother just flop up on land and get beached or...?
Exactly The mother does indeed only spawn on the beach [because she's beached herself to have her baby] and she and the baby stay there. The baby is always male, so once it's old enough to separate from her [if you don't kill her and make it friendly] it'll go back into the water and act as all the other males do.
And yes, Grabber Gob is exactly how they would look; it's the head you get from breeding with Crarks! <3- 1

A mix of a Firebelly Newt and a Rattlesnake, this prey creature will poison you if you're not stealthy enough!
Found in Swamps, Jungles, and the Grass Mingle, the Newtsnake is a prey item that preys upon Rabbils, and if you get within one tile of it, it will strike out at you, poisoning your nicheling. It doesn't do any immediate damage, but each day it'll take a bit your nicheling's lifespan, just like any other poisoning. They take residence in Rabbil Holes, so watch out- that mound you're watching might just spawn a Newtsnake instead!

A mix of "Tiger" and "Turtle", this predator is like a tank- slow, but powerful, with plenty of defense!
Tigles spawn in the Jungle, and maybe Home Island, but definitely the Jungle. They are very much like Bearyenas in their predatory behavior, but Bearyenas are definitely lower on the food chain than Tigles. You can probably only find Tigles on Hard/Killer Islands. Tigles are solitary, like Bearyenas, but occasionally you'll find a mom and her cub. Kill the mom, and you can make the cub friendly- now THAT is an ally! If you mate with the Friendly Tigle, you get these stats:
Tigle Body: +5 Defense -2 Speed
Tigle Jaw: +3 Strength, +2 Smelling
Long Tail: +1 Speed
Predator Eyes: +3 Sight
Red or Yellow fur color
Black pattern color
Stripes
Runner Legs
Regular Hind Legs- 9

A mix of "Bear" and "Owl", these predators are like the warm weather versions of Balance Bears, but with a twist!
They generally spawn near a tree and stay near that tree, attacking anything that gets near. Sometimes a baby will spawn with the Bearowl, but otherwise they are solitary. Breed with a friendly Bearowl to get these stats:
Bearowl Head: +1 Strength, +2 Smelling
Bearowl Paws: +1 Strength, +1 Gathering.
Bearowl Hind Legs: +1 Sight, +2 Speed, +1 Swimming.
Bearowl Tailfeathers: +1 Flying
Farsighted Eyes: can't see the tiles right in front of them, but can see +3 after that.
Inner Ears: +2 Hearing [looks like there are no ears]
Big Body
Moss Brown Fur Color
No Pattern or Pattern Color- 2

From the "Crocodile" and "Shark", this is a lazy predator that will stay either on the beach or in the water [sometimes in swamps] and wait until prey gets too close before striking. Think of it as a creature version of the Carnivorous Plants.
They stay underwater close to the shore, waiting for nichelings, bunnels, and fish to get too close so they can eat them. Females are the only ones found on the beach, and they will have a baby on the beach next to them you can tame once the mother is dead. The tamed male will wander into the water and proceed to have the same behavior as all males, but won't attack your nichelings. This does however mean that in order to breed with one you'll have to do a little swimming. For breeding, you can get these stats:
Crark Jaws: +2 strength, +1 smelling, +1 underwater breathing [a crocky mouth with a sharky head shape]
Inner Ears: +2 hearing [Looks like there are no ears]
Crark Body: +2 defense, +1 swimming, +1 underwater breathing
Crark Legs: +1 strength, +1 defense, +1 swimming
Crark Hind Legs: +1 strength, +1 defense, +1 swimming
Tailfin
Beige Fur, no pattern
This doesn't have to be a thing, but I think it would be cool if it was: Crarks [and nichelings with Crark Jaws] could be able to 'hold' a nicheling at the same time as attacking, which makes them unable to move but still able to attack. So, in other words, you use one turn to attack, and when you attack, your target is then held.
