Edit: For a long time I've felt like I just want to delete this suggestion. It's pretty mean to ask the devs to redo their whole pattern system, after all the hard work hey put into it. Only thing I actually have a problem with, is the fur colors. So if you could tone those down a bit, that would be enough!
Oh, the old beautiful niche! I miss it so much! One thing I've noticed lately, is that the new fur colours bother me a lot. They're so unrealistic! I'm tired of pink nichelings. All screenshots in this post are from Seri! Pixel Biologist!'s videos and @Fishyfishyfishy500But I know that many people love the current pattern and color system as it is. Plus sometimes some really cool colors and patterns come trough. So it should be a toggleable thing. You could choose to use either the old fur colors(+ one extra shade of brown) or the new fur colors. Incase you have never played with the old colors, here are some screenshots of them:Well what about patterns? They would be toggleable too. You could choose the current system or what I'm about to explain next. This system would create more realistic looking patterns with more realistic colours. The DNA would include following color related genes.Following DNA has this nicheling's color genes:Geneslots from left to right:AlbinismMelanismFur colorEye colorHorn colorMane colorPattern (Dots, stripes, mask or warning dots)White spotting (works the same way as white spotting does with cats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhGikt4BQtA&pbjreload=10)Pattern shape (More info of that pattern shape E can be found here)White spotting shape (none, white paws, white tummy, bicolor, white with colored spots, van, fully white)Pattern densityWhite spotting sizePattern darkness (Invicible, light, medium, dark, black)White spotting vicibility (Invicible, faded, medium, bright)Tortoiseshell gene (Info can be found here)Related topics: (Go vote them, please!)- 3

Thank you for the compliments!
@Lilytuft - I don't plan on writing a sequel for this one, though I might write more Niche stories in the future!
Can't wait!

Thanks! I added them to the list!

Loyal loner lovers are a milder version of rogue males. Their spawnrate is really small. If one spawns, he will act like a normal wanderer, but you can't invite him into your tribe. If there is an adult female who has opposing immunity compared to him, he will follow her around and breed with her as often as possible. He will only target one female, and if she dies, he won't breed with anyone else or follow them around. If a bearyena approaches his mate, he will try to fight it off or distract it.
Loyal loner lovers have slightly better genes than rogue males.
Genes they will always have:
One deformed paw
High fertility
Normal bloodclotting
One fur gene with camoflauge of the current biome
Any ideas?
Genes they will never have:
Bearyena snout
Bearyena claw
Bearyena hindlegs
Bearyena ears
Sabertooth fangs
Digging trunk
Megaloceros horns
Armored body
Mammut foot
Hammer tail
Black eyes
Brown eyes
Any ideas?

I'd prefer if there was an option to add your own syllables somewhere! I developed my own Niche naming system, and new syllables would ruin everything. It'd be nice, however, to have the option to add my own made-up syllables to be potentially randomly selected for the generated names of new-born children. (Some of those syllables are Ke-, Ya-, Ni-, Sa- for females, and Ki-, Rai- and Tu- for males.) Since every single syllable changes the name's meaning, I'd understandably be upset if the syllables suggested in this suggestion were added, however I very much endorse the option of adding your own!
This would be useful when doing Warriors challenges, because we could get random Warriors names!

This wouldn't be useful, cince you would lose a move to eat it

-octopus: spawns around coral; if attacked will release ink cloud that will last for 2 turns. if a creature steps in it, they will be blinded for 1 turn.
-lion: spawns in savanna; roars to stun creatures for 1 turn.
-raccoon: steals babies (like bluebird but on land)
All current animals in niche are a combination of two spcies

Someone should move this to the feature requests section

@crazybrownmittens I don’t think I understand what you mean, could you clarify? When you program in a color/color set, it keeps the same color. Any programmed in colors would appear on the pop-up for the color cycle as well.
@crazybrownmittens propably meant something like this:

Yes, spots are the only pattern that also get a random value, aditionally to the genetics.
Maybe we should make sure to use the same random value if twins are born ^^Seri hadthis happen in her video, but she sisn't even notice they were indentical bacause of their spots looking different. So yes, it would be really nice if you did that

Did you check their pattern genetics? Are they truly the same?
Yes. No difference in their genes

If identcal twins are born with spots, their spots will look different

Last night I had a dream. Only thing I remember from it is a blue nicheling. I remeber wondering where he just appeared to my tribe. I hoped it was not a dream. Sadly it was.
He looked like a normal two-gem nicheling, exept for the fact that he was completely blue and he had no gems. I think his eyes were black or dark blue. He had medium body, short snout, normal hindlegs, medium ears, one runners leg and one digging paw. I looked at his color genes. He had blue fur and dark blue fur.
I think that these two posts might have caused the dream:
