medicine cat Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Doing Avatar in story mode this time! To keep some of the magic, I'll be employing the console sometimes- mostly to extend the life of the avatar when needed to contribute to their powers. BOOK ONE, CHAPTER ONE Our first avatar is Adam. Waking up after what feels like an eternity in a spiritual sleep can be a bit jarring, so he's pretty weak. Admittedly, our hero is a bit shy and bad with social interactions. He has no predecessors to guide him, so confidence is the only thing you really can have these days when you're starting your own tribe. He is a Firebender. Since he's alone, he figures he might as well finish his bending skills. He grows into a seasoned Firebender- but if you're going to be the Avatar, being just a Firebender isn't much of a help to anybody. He leaves his island, looking for someone of another element to help him. He arrives at the next island, and enter Eve- a relaxed, maybe irresponsible Waterbender. "Can you help teach me Waterbending?" The young Avatar asks. Eve smiles and shrugs. "I mean, I can sure try." Despite her eccentric teaching style, Adam and Eve become very close friends. When he completes his training, he invites her to come with him to the next island. She beams. "Of course, Adam. I'd love to go with you." Admittedly, the two are from different backgrounds and are technically from different factions. But their chemistry is very magnetic, and they decide to become mates when they get to the new island. Soon, Eve has news for Adam. "I'm about to have the child of the Avatar," she purrs. "No way!" Adam says, nuzzling her excitedly. "I'm going to be a father!" Eve gives birth to a handsome young male who resembles his father. "What should we call him?" she asks. "Cloak," says Adam. Cloak is a quirky, jokester nicheling. He loves to sneak around and pounce on the tails of his parents. Though he has the looks of a firebender, he instead inherits his mother's waterbending qualities. However, Cloak's troublemaking personality stresses out his usually easygoing mother. "I'm so scared he'll get himself in big trouble one day," she sighs. Cloak grows into an adult, though, and becomes pretty good at Waterbending. Adam and Eve decide to have another child, and Eve gives birth to Shrine. Shrine also inherits Eve's Waterbending skills, but is much more calm than her brother. She is very close to her father, often enjoying the stories he tells. However, she harbors a deep dislike for her brother and avoids him whenever she can. Eve dies of old age, leaving the family behind. Adam is given extra time due to his Avatar status. "Why do you get to live so long, Dad?' Shrine asks curiously, looking at her father's still-bright fur. "I'm the avatar," he explains. "Here to keep balance between the tribes, and, ideally, master all four elements." "Will I ever be an avatar?" She asks curiously, and Adam laughs. "No, but it's your duty to look for the next one when I'm gone one day, okay?" 2 2
medicine cat Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 CHAPTER TWO ; DAY 23 Fire: Adam (Avatar) Water: Cloak (Leader), Shrine Shrine grows into a full adult. A bearyena attacks the tribe, and they band together to fight it. They take it down without anyone dying, but Shrine is gravely wounded when the creature viciously bites her, nearly crushing her ribcage. Cloak manages to heal her enough to sustain her, but shakes his head when he is speaking about it to his father. "It is likely she will never be able to withstand having children," he says. Cloak dies of old age, and Shrine follows soon after due to her injuries. Adam befriends a young, blue-eyed teenager named Dream. She joins him in his adventures, her waterbending skills reminding her of Eve. They become good friends. Dream is injured by a bearyena, but the wound is not fatal and simply leaves a scar across her abdomen. After some time, Dream and Adam come across a young waterbender male named Littleowl. He is smart and humble, and is welcomed into the tribe when he asks to join. Dream dies of an illness, leaving Adam and Littleowl. Adam feels it in his bones that he will not be around for much longer. "Littleowl," he begins, "I want you to ensure the future of this tribe. I know it's hard, but you're a very wise young nicheling. I believe you can do it." "I sure hope you're right, Adam.." says Littleowl softly. Adam dies of old age, and Littleowl is left alone. Littleowl comes across another young female named Journey. She has a similar personality to Adam, which makes Littleowl think she might be the Avatar, but she is your average everyday Waterbender. 3
medicine cat Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 CHAPTER THREE, DAY 59, BOOK TWO WATER: Littleowl(Leader), Journey Littleowl and Journey decide that it'd be a good idea to leave the island and go somewhere else in search of the new Avatar. "I don't care where we go," purrs Journey. "Then let's go East, maybe?" suggests Littleowl. Littleowl dies of old age when they arrive on the island. Luckily, Journey finds a calling stump shortly after arriving on the island, and immediately utilizes it. "Hello?" She calls. "Is anyone here?" "Hello," a male voice responds. A dark-coated male emerges from the tall grass curiously. "Are you lost?" "Sort of," says Journey. "My tribemate died shortly after arriving here. I'm looking to build up a tribe." "I'll join then," says the male, winking at her. "I'm Asteroid. "That's an interesting name," she says. "I'm Journey." "Another interesting name for another interesting female," he says. Asteroid grows an attraction to Littleowl, and he asks her to be his mate. She agrees. Journey dies of an illness, leaving Asteroid to put together the pieces of her culture to try and look for the new Avatar. He goes to the calling stump he found Journey on. Another female approaches- her name is Aberrant, and she has cream fur. She is a Firebender. The tribe is also joined by Nem, a quiet airbender. An airbender who has powers of the three other elements, too? She's by no means beautiful, but she has a unique aura about her. "I'm the Avatar," she says. "Never heard of it," says Abberant. "But whatever. Congratulations." She shrugs. Aberrant is jealous of this Avatar, wishing she had the same unique power. Asteroid dies of old age, and soon after his death arrives a handsome male. His name is Blade, and he's a relaxed firebender. Blade becomes attracted to Aberrant, and the two become mates. The tribe is joined by a young teenaged male named Darkender. He is a responsible, determined Airbender, and finds himself jealous of Nem since she is the Avatar. The tribe also befriends a pretty ginger female named Ghost. She is a mischievous Earthbender. 4

Aberrant dies giving birth to she and Blade's daughter, so Blade raises it as her own. He names her Kiasax. Ghost dies of old age, and soon, so does Blade. Darkender dies and Kiasax is left to carry on her tribe. She gets on the calling stump and encounters Orsen, a determined and poised waterbender. "I'll join your tribe," he says, "but on a condition." "And that is?" asks Kiasax. "You are to teach me firebending," he says. "But you're a waterbender." Orsen smiles before causing a dramatic shake in the earth. "An earthbender too? But that means you're the-" "Avatar," he says. "You seem to be a skilled Firebender, and I'd greatly appreciate you teaching me my third bending skill." Kiasax agrees, and they begin training together. The tribe is also joined by Longfang, a nicheling of few words. He is an earthbender, and becomes close friends with Kiasax. The tribe is also joined by Enigma, a serious earthbender. One day, Kiasax approaches Longfang in his den, seeming worried. "Longfang, do you think I would be a good mother?" she asks. "What makes you ask that?" "I... I planned on having a half-bearyena kit," she says. "But if I'm being honest, I have no idea where to start. My mother died when I was born." She flattens her ears. Longfang is silent for a long moment. "You're well-liked by everyone in the tribe," he finally says. "We're all going to help you in any way we know how." "...Thank you, Longfang." 2

He is mischievous and tends to act out, but this is due to hidden insecurities he has, being half-bearyena and all . Longfang and Enigma become mates due to convenience and to further the tribe. Kiasax dies of old age. Orsen is given more time due to being Avatar. Enigma has she and Longfang's child- a male with golden fur. "Let's call him Spark," Longfang purrs. Spark is a young, determined nicheling who aspires to be a great Earthbender. He draws inspiration from the Avatar. Enigma gets sick and dies soon after giving birth, so Longfang raises him on his own. Longfang soon dies, though. Splinter dies of old age. The Avatar also dies, and Spark must take what he learned from him to carry on the tribe. He returns to the long-abandoned calling stump, untouched since the arrival of his mother years ago. He encounters Crownstar, a blind, sweet Waterbender. Spark also befriends Clue, a young, impulsive female. She is an earthbender. Crownstar dies by a bearyena, and clue is injured. Desperate for more tribe members, she calls on the stump. 2

He is very calm and becomes fast friends with Clue. Clue dies of an illness, and Undertree takes over on the calling stump. Through this, he encounters Longfoot, a pretty she-nicheling. She is a quick-witted airbender. The tribe takes in a teenaged female named Riverhopper. She is a Waterbender, and mostly keeps to herself. 3
