  1. Day 31, Sunny #004 has spent the day close to her family, showing signs of fatigue. We assume that she will pass away during the following night. #014, her second cub, has reached adulthood and had his genes recorded. #014 "Anli" #008 has left her nest and hunted a stagmole. Her mate #006 appears to be taking care of their newborn cub. Their older son "Lami", #012, seems restless and has spent the day distanced from his parents, leading us to believe he might attempt to migrate. #007 has stopped advancing, instead clearing out grass. #010 and #011 follow his example.
  2. Honestly I think its wonderful - sad and wonderful. The ending sequence, where you gradually zoom out is very beautiful, and the story has come to a beautiful end. An ending needs to fits its story, and this is a perfect fit. Love it.
  3. We are happy to announce that we have started a database, in which we track our nicheling's status, and every individual involved in the project!
  4. This site is dedicated to recording all former, current and future nichelings of The Nicheling preservation Programme 2020. This database is meant to help both our researcher as well as our supporters keep track of the individuals, family relations and genomes. The Nicheling Preservation Programme can be found here: Deceased Nichelings These nichelings have lived on our island and died. #001 "Zeri" Generation 0 #001, "Zeri", was together with #002 the first nicheling on the island. She had been cloned using the remains of a nicheling who belonged to a population not related to the rest of the species. #001 was born and raised by a surrogate mother and acquainted with her mate #002 during her adolescence. Together #001 and #002 raised four cubs, all of which survived into adulthood (#003, #004, #005 and #006). #001 died together with her mate on the night of day 17. #002 "Zarim" Generation 0 Just like his mate, #002 was cloned using remains of a deceased nicheling. "Zarim" was neither related to #001 nor to the remaining nicheling population. #002 and #001 raised four cubs together, all of which managed to survive into adulthood (#003, #004, #005 and #006). #002 showed a particualr liking of berry-picking, and died side by side with #001 on the night of day 17. #003 "Niim" Generation 1 #003, "Niim", was the first nicheling to be born on the island. After growing into an adult she migrated to perimeter 4, where she was socialised with her mate #007. Together, the pair raised two male cubs, #010 and #011. #003 died on day 29 due to old age, leaving her mate and adult offspring behind. #004 "Ilael" Generation 1 #004, "Ilael", was the second cub born on the island. She separated from her family shortly after becoming an adult and relocated to the northern part of perimeter 1. There she was introduced her mate #009 and had three cubs with him (#013, #014 and #015), the last one at an unusually old age. When she died on day 31 only two of her cubs had grown into adults. #007 "Elrosti" Generation 1 #007, "Elrosti", comes from a nicheling research center in the north. He was introduced to his mate #003 soon after she had migrated to P4. The two pair-bonded quickly and raised two cubs together (#010, #011). #007 taught his offspring both how to fish and hunt, a skill previously unknown to the population. After #003's death he and his cubs have been observed to move north, towards P3. He died unexpectedly of old age. Current Nichelings These are the nichelings we currently observe on the island. #006 "Lonta" Generation 1 #006, "Lonta", is the only male cub of #001 and #002. His growth had been stunted after birth, but excessive DNA testing showed that this was most likely a hormonal and not a genetical issue. #006 has remained at the place of his birth until now, living there with his mate #008 and their male cubs (#012, #016). Like his sister #005 he too suffers from shortsightedness, but has been kept on the island due to his gender and the fact that #008 was a very well fit mate for him. #008 "Eve" Generation 1 #008, "Eve", has been given to us by @alex602h and was introduced to her mate #006 soon after both of them had reached adulthood. The two of them pair-bonded very slow. She was very protective of ther first cub #012, and only recently had a second cub after #012 grew up. #009 "Lurroduk" Generation 1 #009, "Lurroduk", has been given to us by @PincerClaw420 and was the last mate of generation 1 to be brought to the island. He and his mate #004 have three cubs together, two of which had grown into adults when #004 died. #009 is currently grieving for his mate and caring for their cubs (#013, #014 and #015). #011 "Zul" Generation 2 #011, "Zul", is the younger cub of #003 and #007. He has been taught how to fish and hunt by his father. AFter #003 died, #011 and his remaining family have started to migrate towards perimeter 3. We are currently looking for a mate for him. #012 "Lami" Generation 2 #012, "Lami", is the firstborn cub of #006 and #008. After birth he showed very little vital signs, leading to a part of our team believing he might've been stillborn. His later developement has been normal however, and our team currently intends to keep him on the island. #013 "Helza" Generation 2 #013 was the first cub of #004 and #009. She has only recently grown onto an adult, and after testing of her genome will also certainly remain on the island. #014 "Anli" Generation 2 #014 is the second cub of #004 and #009. Since the genes he has received from his father are almost completely different from those his sister #013 carries he will be kept on the island. #017 "Vanta" Generation 2 #017 has been given to us by @Okay and is intended to become #013's mate. #018 "Cloydy Skies" Generation 2 #018 has been given to us by @Lilyturf and is intended to be #011's mate. Former Nichelings These nichelings have been relocated either to a different programme or to a zoo, where they will contribute to the diversification of their species. #005 "Laah" Generation 1 #005 was the third cub of #001 and #002 and one of the two born with severe shortsightedness. As she already had two healthy female siblings it was decided that she'd be relocated to a zoo after reaching adulthood. She has been succesfully integrated into her new tribe and had four cubs from different males which she raised with the help of her female mate. Candidates These nichelings come from other organisations or from individuals but haven't been taken to the island yet. "Vuzu", owned by @SilverHowl "Tomato Soup" owned by @Lilyturf Leaving Nichelings These nichelings come from our population, but can't continue to stay on the island, either due to genetical deficiencies, population issues or problematic behaviour. They will be given to zoos or different programmes, so they can still contribute to the survival of their species. If one of our nichelings fits your programme, let us know! #010 "Tuku" Generation 2 #010 is the older cub of #003 and #007. As his genome is slightly less ideal than that of his brother, due to the fact that he carries recessive shortsightedness, it has been decided that he will be relocated to another programme or zoo. #010 shows a friendly, amiable nature. #015 "Vitoah" Generation 2 Gender Ratio This section is dedicated to keeping track of the female:male ratio born in different generations. Gen 1: 3:1 Gen 2: 1:6
  5. Tamed two parrots in my minecraft save (where I just straight up spawned in a jungle). Love them. I know they don't really have personalities in-game, but the green one is much more calmer, and the red one likes sitting on my shoulder and flying around.
  6. Oh yeah and I love me some feedback of course!
  7. Enjoy! Gott ist Zeit.docx
  8. Anyone wanna see the essay I wrote? Its in german though, and I can't translate it.
  9. I assume there are some stories like that to be found somewhere. But imagine this: In their struggle to capture villain, the heroes lose more and more sight of who they are. In the end, they manage to kill and unmask the villain, only to see their own face. In their pursuit of the evil, they have lost themselves and become the villain they killed.
  10. It has been over a year since I've made this, but it still deserves a bump!
  11. Day 30, Rainy #007 and his cubs have left their home and appear to be heading north. Our behavioral experts suggests that this might be both a result of #010 and #011 reaching adulthood, as well as the death of #003. Seeing that #003 migrated farther than all other individuals, this trait of hers seems to reflect in her young. An extreme closeup from one of our drones has been made, and used to assess the health of #008's newborn offspring. We currently assume the cub #016 to be male, and in good health. (#012 is seen in the middle, is father to the right) #004's agility has strongly declined, and we assume her death to be near. She has left the nest and been succesful in hunting a rabbil for her family, while #009 cared for their cubs. Their oldest cub, #013, has grown up and her genetic code has been taken. #013 "Helza"
  12. Day 29, Rainy In the early morning, our drones have sadly failed to detect a life sign from #003. "Niim", as she was dubbed, was the first nicheling born on the island, and the first and only so far to cross into another perimeter. Her mate, #007, and her cubs appear to be grieving her death, and haven't left her body throughout the day. Meanwhile, #012 has grown up, and our drones have succesfully decoded his genetic code. His mother #008 seems to be more relaxed and has built a new nest, likely to give birth to her second cub. #012 "Lami" One of our drones has detected a new warmth signature in #004's nest. Our team assumes that she must have conceived a third cub, despite her old age. We fear that she might die before the cub is able to survive alone, as she is already quite old.
  13. Day 28, Sunny We are glad to announce that #011 has reached aulthood! His genes were taken and show far greater diversity that the earlier generation. He and his family have spent a relaxed afternoon together. #011 "Zul" Meanwhile, #008 appears to be pregnant once again, but hasn't nested yet. We assume she might feel like she still needs to protect her first cub, and will give birth once he has grown up. With our far more advanced drones we have now been able to take yet another picture of #004 and her family. Her younger cub, #014, has been dubbed "Anli" by our researchers. Since #004 is quite old as well, we do not expect her to have another cub.
  14. After a recent issue with our drones, which rendered surveillance useless for a few hours, we have updated to the newest model currently on the market. As these drones are not only in posession of stronger batteries, but also tinier, very quiet and equipped with high-resolution cameras we will be able to take far more and better pictures of our individuals, enabling us to analyse their behaviour even better than beforehand. Our most recent update will also be the last one taken using our old drones.
  15. Day 27, #003 is showing increasing signs of old age - our team estimates she may live for another two to three days. She is currently taking care of #011, her younger cub. #007 and #010 continue to fish together, with quite some success. We are happy to see the nichelings vary their diet. #008 and #006 continue to care for their cub, both seeming to be quite protective of him. Our hopes are high that #008 will fall pregnant again soon. One of our drones has succesfully captured a picture of #004 and #009, confirming our beliefs that the pair is caring for two cubs. We are happy to identify their older cub, #013, as a female. She has been dubbed "Helza". As we have mentioned before, due to the high amount of male cubs in this generation, we are considering selecting a few of them to be given to other programmes attempting to stop the eradication of nichelings. 16. So, the mobile version is absolutely unusable for me - no layout, everything is scattered around and weirdly colored. Might also happen because my phone is pretty old, but before the update is used to work perfectly well. Certain things are too bold, like the usernames, and there are lots of weird features, like the "--- weeks later" thing for posts.
  17. Big celebratory update coming out tomorrow (for me, no clue how your time zones work), so in about 20 hours or so (y'know, sleep, school).
  18. I have no memory of deleting it (and would never, I love this dearly)- the only way I can explain this happening is due to how absolutely terrible the forum looks on my phone (due to the new update, its basically not funtional anymore). I only open them on my phone to check my notifications, so I might have accidentally clicked on the delete button?
  19. Tbh those memes give me life as well
  20. Oh this has nothing to do with my NPP dilemma, but I've never watched a single episode of Supernatural in my life. Haven't seen the trailers. Barely knew it existed. And apparently now the ship they have queerbaited for years has become canon, and that was all it took for me to get hooked on it (the ship, not the show), since I get all my serotonin from gay pining.
  21. Really weird - I do hope we'll get some info on what is happening. I still haven't lost hope that my topic might be recovered.
