  1. I mean I'd love to take Floo but I don't know if @Applesauce is okay with that.
  2. How does everyone have something to do when I'm on and whenever I'm asleep people are apparently partying on here. Anyway, have as much fun as possible doing your work.
  3. Which party initiates the "coupling"? Is it like in the real world, where the owner of the female chooses the male?
  4. This is literally the most adorable being I've ever seen. The drawing, his character, the colours, his name...I haven't stopped thinking about him. This is the purest and best thing in the world right now. I love him. I would protect him from a killer bearyena with my bare hands.
  5. Here's Elsi. The picture was taken when she was six months old, she has since grown older (she's now three and a half years old). As you can see her right paw is crippled - this isn't genetic. She got into an accident when she was still quite young (she somehow managed to have a bookshelf fall on top of her). Luckily she survived it, the growth in this leg just stopped. She is quite a dominant one - not overly aggressive but bossy towards others. It got a whole lot better after Halfglance joined us. Now she just reserves certain rights for herself, like eating first or sleeping on the cozier bed. Apart from that she is very clingy and cuddly. A potential mate would need to fit her standards (Halfglance doesn't). He should probably also be a confident nicheling, (but what do I know, maybe she likes soft boys) just not too challenging. Ideally he has some sort of horns and a nice eye colour (blue, purple, orange, green). (She has recessive dots, so her cubs could have patterns)
  6. Here's Halfglance: He's a very sweet boy, playful and affectionate. For some reason he dislikes it when people pet his ears, but he has never shown any form of aggression towards others. His perfect match would probably consist of an equally outgoing and friendly female, ideally one that is a bit more grounded than he is. This doesn't necessarily have to apply though - he can sire multiple litters, as long as the owners think he's a good match.
  7. Do the owners get to choose who they breed with? I feel like going really in-depth on my nichelings character traits and good potential matches for themπŸ˜…
  8. Would you like to have their genes as well? Could be fun for a potential rise of recessive genes.
  9. These questions are great, now I get to think even more about my different mythologies! -What happens to nichelings that aren't gods and goddesses when they die? This depends. My tribes have varying beliefs (kind of like we do) and some are correct while others aren't. Some tribes actually have a quite boring afterlife, where they all just kind of exist. In one belief-system female nichelings can choose to try and be reborn. If they are reborn, even once, they can't go into the afterlife. Instead they are kind of like sleeping spirits and can be contacted by a specific group of nichelings. Males and females that didn't try to be reborn or didn't succeed at their first try go on to live in the wind. There is also a tribe where there are two planes of existence, the living world and the world of the Frozen Ones. Everyone else just disappears after their death. Only three nichelings who aren't Frozen Ones still exist in another dimension - the in-between, where they are only shadows of themselves. I generally think that beliefs can spread from their original tribe to other ones. Maybe I'll create a topic where everyone can post their nichelings beliefs and others can then have tribes living after those, therefore spreading their mythology. -How did the Niche world come to be? Technically, just like ours. In terms of beliefs I don't have a lot planned there...yet. -Do all Nichelings speak English? Do they all speak a different language, but when depicted on the forums, speak English? Do different groups of Nichelings speak different languages? They definitely speak different languages. Personally I don't think that we would be able to understand them or they us for that matter. I'm trying to work on something really cool (in my opinion) concerning niche language. -Not quite mythology, but how do your nichelings see, for example, the instant aging of teen to adult? Do they simply wake up one day and find themselves taller and more mature, or are the changes over time, like in real life? Other examples include nicheling death (body instantly changes into bones), food storage, and nighttime. They grow older over time, although I'm still trying to figure out how long they live in our terms. Food storage is complicated - they definitely store food but a store of 500+ food for a tiny tribe just means that they are very well-fed. The day-night cycle could maybe consist of far more time than ours. This would explain the rapid aging and how bearyenas can sneak up on our creatures. -How do nichelings become gods and goddesses? Is there a nicheling that chooses who becomes a god or goddess, or what? Depends on the different beliefs. In some, it's chance. In others there are steps that can be taken to ensure that you will be a god, but these are only known to few. -If there's so many different pantheons, is only one true, and the rest just stories? Is each pantheon real, but they each control a different area of the world? If the second one is the case, then do some/all nichelings know of multiple pantheons? Can the areas interact? Can nichelings from one pantheon's area cross into a different pantheon's area? (I'd assume so because of, y'know, give-me-a-nicheling playthroughs, but do whatever you want!) Yes and no. It depends fully on the pantheon. Some are truly just stories, others are dead now but were real once. Those still existing are sometimes very well-known while others are niche-gods (pun intended). As I mentioned above, maybe we could try and "convert" others to our individual belief systems. Some wanderers are believers trying to spread the message of their gods (this can sometimes be countered with very strong aggression). -Do humans exist in the same world as nichelings? If so: Do they live separately from nichelings? Do they know nichelings exist? If they live alongside nichelings, it it peacefully? Do different groups of humans and nichelings have different relationships? Do humans keep nichelings as pets? Decorate their homes with their pelts? I don't think so. Maybe in a parallel universe but for me the game-verse exist on a different planet in a different solar system. -How do nichelings gain gems? Do they magically appear upon the nicheling's chest when they reach the right age? Do they find the gems? Is there a god or goddess who gives the gems to nichelings? Do gems simply not exist in the Niche world, and are only there for us people as a guide when playing the game? I love the idea of them finding them, maybe I'll try and build a belief-system around that. For me, they are part of the nichelings biology and show health, age, etc. They consist of similar things as horns and claws, and their coulours change due to the nichelings hormones. Some can change them at will, to try and impress their partner, signal sickness, dominance or a pairing or family. I'd just like to ask what people think of the pantheon-sharing idea. Other people could add their own twists to your ideas, but you would still be credited as the "Inventor".
  10. I was thinking about drawing the babies once they are a bit older, since I'm way better at doing that - then they could age up and actually be adopted, right?
  11. This gal has been straying around my house for a few days - she was visibly pregnant the first few days and then apparently gave birth. So I started feeding her, hoping to gain her trust. She's surprisingly tame, so she must've been living close to humans her entire live. Today she led me to her litter and allowed me to bring them home. I decided to bring them here because I think the cubs might be hybrids. One of them (the reddish-brown one) is unusually big and fluffy. She seems to have something akin to a mane, even though she's very young. Both of them have a big, clawed paw and suspiciously shaped ears. I don't know what the typical process concerning hybrids is and if I'm allowed to raise them. I was hoping you guys could tell me and maybe check up on all of them. I think the babies are both female, but I'm not sure.
  12. This is so cool! I love it and I'm definitely going to draw an adoptable tomorrow. Just a few questions, since I this hasn't been mentioned yet: I'm just going to assume that breeders exist - how is incest handled? Seing that it doesn't have any repercussions in-game if the parents don't share an immunity, is it accepted (I don't think it should be, but I don't make the rules)? Are there certain types of nichelings that you need a special qualification for if you want to take care of them? Maybe some with more "agressive" genes? Is there illegal trade with more "exotic" nichelings?
  13. What an abomination. Cool mask boi's lineage can't have duckfaces in it. Then it will be Duknonnu, unless unborn child is incredibly cool.
  14. As long as new child isn't born yet I can't say for sure, but Resi is my favorite so far. Does she have recessive poison fangs? If not, she can't get the title because I'm mean.
  15. So I recently started a save with both my boy Roku (aka cool mask boii) and @Flower's girl Flower. Now I have a save full with pretty nichelings and two options: Either I mate siblings with each other (there are two potential pairings) where there is a chance for some nice recessive traits, like blue eyes, big body or antlers. The downside to this is the incest and the fact that everyone will kind of look the same. The other option is a female wanderer I found. The problem is that she shares an immunity with every. single. male. So it's either incest with healthy kids or healthy relationships with sickly kids.
  16. Take this Eve I apparently decided to screenshot for some reason.
  17. Yess, the rabbil lineage has to grow strong. Multiply! Also, which one is cool mask boiis heir? Just curious to see what his lineage looks like. I mean, these guys belong to Flower's lineage, right?
  18. It's so well written, I love it. Poor, poor Onoko - he was the only one willing to stand up against this tyrant and now he's blind. I feel so sorry for him...(Even though blind eyes look awesome) And then there are all these questions. Will their cubs be healthy? What is happening to Mii? How will the other males react to this brutality? Is there going to be a divine punishment for the Queen's actions?
  19. One of the best parts of this playthrough is how so many things are happening and it is kind of a chaos but at the same time every legacy still exists and has something interesting going on.
  20. I don't care that much - personally I don't like playing on jungle islands because I always starve, but since that won't be a problem here, go for it. It'll look nice on the pictures.
  21. Now you've got me hooked.
