  1. (Well it's your playthrough, but if the tribe's doing bad it sounds like it may be a challenge either way sadly enough)
  2. (The tribe's doing alright now... A new baby and a friendly bearyena. Let's hope it lasts. Are you going to breed with the bearyena?)
  3. (Well in this case I actually used the increasespawn playeranimal command because I needed to test if a blind creature could invite them in on their own. But in my other playthroughs where I haven't I have decent luck as well when I find them. Most the time I invite them right away so they don't have a chance to dissapear. And I even invite some with bad genes or with very little life left if I wish to breed them. I pretty much invite everyone lol. But I also often cheat and give myself back the 5 food to invite them so that's one less consideration in inviting them.
  4. Oooo this is a concerning development
  5. (Btw I'm waiting for a response @Regular human with face
  6. These are the rules: **Note, this tribe I played in order to come up with the rules of the challenge, so did not obey them the whole time or consistently. A look at our blind starter! Her genes are almost completely randomized (she had the default immunities and no melinism or albinism, and I gave her normal fertility in one slot and of course blind eyes). I thought I would need a nicheling to move with commands right ontop of the blind nicheling in order to interact with things, so I created her friend Blind Guide (a double no-pawed, webbed hind legged, short-sighted, no fertility nicheling) for the sole purpose of being a one block radius pair of eyes so she could interact with things she smelled and heard. Turns out, he wasn't needed. But I still kept him in the tribe as a friend to her who had helped her cross the stepping stones storywise. The moment I realized she could gather berries on her own in scent-view. She camped by this berry bush quite a while to stock up. Livita can't see a thing...so surely she can't interact, right? Wrong! She can invite in this wanderer or attack them, no sweat! I invite him in of course...and then immediately accidentally have him eat from a poison berry bush. I freak out, not knowing what my damage multipliers are set to having hastily set this up. But it turns out they were X1 or something ridiculously easy like that.
  7. (This is kinda like a warriors crossed with a caste challenge except with dragons and more brutal. Very interesting. I can imagine all sorts of ways a nicheling in this society would try to break the rules...and ways the leader would try and rule with an iron fist in order to prevent that
  8. In this challenge you will start with one blind nicheling. How does that work? You might ask, since blind nichelings can't move without another of their pack and are practically useless on their own. Setup: Settings can be whatever you want them to be, although no cheating by taking away anything from the world to make it easier on yourself! And if you increase lifespan increase pregnancy duration and damage multipliers accordingly. Your starting nicheling must be blind. You can custom-make them to get a set difficulty or randomize everything, but they must have blind eyes in both eye slots. They can be either gender, though the challenge is easier with a female. Age-wise they can be either teen or young adult (or an older adult to give yourself more of a time crunch) Mechanics: The challenge works using commands. Specifically one command: the moveoccupant command. Whenever you wish to move your blind nicheling forward, (with no others of their pack around), you use this command to move them one hex at a time. Interaction-wise, it turns out you can interact with pretty much anything from picking berries to inviting in wanderers to attacking bearyena in the smelling or hearing views. So in order to find out what's around you and interact with it use these views in order to help your blind nicheling survive and reach their goals. Your blind nicheling "uses" one of their gems when moving with the moveoccupant command, just like if they were walking. They can, however, use the command one extra time. So they can move up to 4 times a turn if they don't use their actions for anything else. Once you've invited in (or birthed) another nicheling, you may move your blind creature as you normally would in niche (using the pack's sight radius) or continue to use commands to move them one hex at a time, whichever is more advantageous at the moment. The child of the blind nicheling with the worst eyesight is the heir. They lead the tribe and gain all abilities of the blind nicheling. If the blind nicheling has no children, any other blind nicheling in the pack can become the heir and start a blind royal line of their own. Other Rules: Once every three turns you may use commands to teleport your blind nicheling (or their heir) as far forward as their speed would normally allow. Once every 5 turns you may use commands to move 3 of your nichelings to a part of the island your nichelings have previously explored. If there is no blind nichelings in the pack you can no longer do this. In order to make things a bit easier you can use commands to give yourself back 4 food when you invite a nicheling into the pack. If you end up on top of a rock or cactus accidentally, give your blind nicheling one damage. If you end up in thorns give your blind nicheling as much damage as it would take to cut them down. Tips: Rogue males aren't ideal, but not necessarily bad in order to continue your family line. The benefit is that they will seek you out and you won't have to waste one of your moves. Use the moveoccupant command and your nichelings with sight strategically in order to move your blind nicheling. Find a berry bush or other food source and camp in order to store up food. Cracker jaw can be very useful for clams and nuts, but coconuts cannot be viewed in smelling or hearing view. So you have to have a sighted nicheling to help your blind nicheling collect them! If you do, they can be as reliable a food source as anything else. Extra challenges: Only blind and/or shortsighted nichelings can collect food. No using mutations. Start with a male or a child. Or start with a nicheling with horrible genes (at least one no-paw, low fertility, less useful genes). No giving back food using commands when inviting wanderers. Start with two blind nichelings of the same gender, one of them with no collecting or attacking ability. Feel free to add other challenges to this one!
  9. Here's the pic for my character made by @YourLocalStranger
  10. The spirit opened their eyes, and slowly got up from their sprawled-out position on the ground. Their mind was almost as empty as the space they were in. They stood there, bewildered, foggy. The spirit sporadically felt as if they were floating. They felt almost not even there...
  11. Perfect! Thanks I'll go ahead and post it on the thread
  12. That's striking! Unfortunately I can only use one of them for the rp
  13. This is so cute! I don't think I'll use it for the rp (because from the angle you couldn't see if spikes were on their back, and also I forgot to tell everyone I would've liked them tail-less). But I think I'll make it my profile pic cause I'm due for a change anyway, if that's alright with you.
  14. That's beautiful! Way better than I could have done. Could you make one change tho and give them a bob-tail? I should've put that in the description. It's OK if not, tho. I'm just a perfectionist lol
  15. Agreed! Gingerfall is such a sassy girl. And I like her strong-headed and matter-of-factness too. The rogue's cub may end up being the heir
  16. I need a nicheling drawn for this but don't have the time and/or ability. Can anyone help? Here's a description of the nicheling, I can't give you a screenshot because that defeats some of the rps purpose. The silhouette (black shadow of them, no color) of this nicheling shows a long nose and two straight legs (one runner one stealth paw), with spikes on their back. They appear to be fully grown. They have a small mane on top of their head. -They're generally adventurous. -Is drawn to water, gets a specific scent when near it, and sometimes sees things around and in it. -Eyes sometimes flash black, and sometimes flash blue. But most the time are a glowing white (as are all eyes in this place).
  17. (I just realized I made a mistake a while ago when I posted this, my nicheling had big nose not short snout )
  18. (Who is this to anyway? All or any of those who joined the rp?)
  19. (I don't want this to start without me so I'm just gonna sublit like before. Maybe I'll do a silhouette if this thread doesn't die. Also anyone feel free to draw one for me and I will probablyy use it!) The silhouette of this nicheling shows a short snout and runner legs, with spikes on their back. They appear to be fully grown. -They're generally adventurous. -Is drawn to water, gets a specific scent when near it, and sometimes sees things around and in it. -Eyes sometimes flash black, and sometimes flash blue. (picture to be added)
  20. Nice! Yeah people age kinda fast if not given a youth scroll. If you give only one of a couple a youth scroll their spouse will age but will still be able to have children for some reason?? So that's a tip if you want to give people some more time without using two youth scrolls. Your first pet and child! Yay Also why do you say it takes place in a dystopia? I never thought of that but could very well be.
  21. The clan is growing and doing well, now! Let's hope it stays this way.
  22. (I always set to alphas those that starvation damage would kill (as long as they're important, anyway). That way if this ever does happen it's no big deal, just purr or healing plant whoever took damage as soon as I can. And those that can take a few hits are set to omega too, just in case. But then, you probably knew that.
  23. (Ooooo I'm interested probably gonna reuse my old nicheling...maybe I'll submit an actual silhouette this time? Maybe not.)
