Since this wasn't shared on the forums I thought I'd point out something Philo said on the WV discord: I asked for clarification and indeed: when she says "We'll be opening the beta sign-up to backers of all tiers...", she means ALL TIERS. So if anyone here backed the kickstarter (like me!), even if it didn't say we'd get a beta key, apparently we will get it in January or February! Hooray!! (also this is just what Philo said, if she's wrong it's not my fault )

Wandering Village beta testing started and inside I'm like hey Philo...remember when you gave me free keys to your other 2 games + Niche on switch because I was your faithful mod? well I'm still here sooooooo

A bearyena delivers its body to Fourmilier like he called in for Bearyena-fil-a delivery. Yet another bearyena appears. A young female named Bikuu (random name kept) is invited in. The bearyena kills them all. RIP. 107 days this time.

A bearyena is found. Sadly it is too late for Doré, who had already used up all his moves, and we are down to only Merdi and Bois. (Soliel's bloodline is dead now.) Merdi gives birth to her rogue baby, Espoir. Swamp bugs surrounds the three and infect Bois but Espoir ("Hope") brings them hope for the future. A female wanderer appears but there is no food to spare for her. A bearyena shows up again and the small family flees, including a pregnant Merdi (carrying Bois's child). Merdi and Espoir fall into a trap. By the berry bushes lies a bearyena, lying in wait until the pair is asleep. It murders Merdi, but despite being incapacitated for two days by the sleeping bugs, Espoir survives to run with his foster father. The other bearyena return for them as well, forcing them to head west across the river. Bois dies of old age. It all hinges on Espoir now. Don't get up hope yet... And he does not. A female, Mère, is found. She is in her last days, but she may have just enough time to have a child. Mère dies but leaves behind a son. Sadly, despite what his name of Vue may suggest, he is blind. But behold! A female babe! She is given a home but yet...there is not enough food for all to eat today. Espoir makes the difficult choice to sacrifice his son in favor of the child with a better chance of survival. (Espoir himself does not starve as he is the only adult and therefore the only currently capable of collecting food.) The remaining two collect as much food as they can. A bearyena appears and goes after Nuit. She runs as fast as she can, leaving Espoir to spend his final day collecting food for her. Nuit finds a nice spot with a nest, a toxic berry bush (from which she can eat, because of her tail, and even a mate, Citron! The two made immediately. Nuit gives birth to a bat-headed stillborn. The two mate again anyways; the chance of a double deformed pawed rogue baby is more of a risk. Nuit has another stillborn., and then another. The rogue baby route seems it may be the better choice. A wandering female, Vagabonde, is taken in. She attempts to mate with Citron but a rogue gets her first. I let him take Nuit as well. A deformed baby is born from Vagabonde. She will be sacrificed when she is old enough as she has no survival skills. Another wanderer appears. Due to his young age, he is crucial. Citron volunteers to sacrifice himself to the waters to leave enough supplies for the newcomer named Fourmilier. Another sacrifice is born to Nuit, as well as a healthy boy named Qualifié by Vagabonde and the late Citron. Day 100. Nuit and Vagabonde pass. Only two left again.

Our new girl, Soliel. A baby boy wanderer comes in but drowns immediately :T An albino rogue mates with Soliel. An adult wanderer, Boueux, is found and invited in. Soliel gives birth to a stillborn (sickly child). She mates with Boueux on his last day and has little Doré a few days later. Soliel is impregnated by a rogue again, as well as a wanderer she invites in (Merdi, i kept her randomized name). We're very low on food but Soliel has only a day left after this. Soliel dies, unable to have her baby due to the lack of a perma nest or materials. Her son and acquaintance gather food and materials. A wanderer hovers but is not invited in yet. (Another one was there too but she had 1 day left lol) Yet another wanderer appears. This time we have enough food to spare and he is named Bois.

Day 50! Bella becomes an adult and I discover she is infertile. She is sent to search for roots and more importantly, wanderers. Blanche will have to breed with her uncle if she's an adult in time. Bella encounters a bearyena! I have decided to try a new rule, to make this game even MORE challenging: predators cannot be attacked. (The tribe is a peaceful one and cannot find the courage to attack such a predator. They rarely even kill rabbils.) Therefore, Bella runs away from the tribe, trying to lure the bearyena and its child away, but they mysteriously vanish. The rest of the tribe heads east, where Blanche was exploring. A friggin' Big Eared Ape appears and scares the socks off me. Bella again attempts to lure it away. Theodore and Blanche are expecting. Bella is killed by the Ape, but her death was not in vain; she lured the Ape far enough from the tribe that they may never meet it again. Blanche has a cute lil boy named Croissant (I'm naming them all in French bc I'm learning it on Duolingo)...unfortunately he may not last long as a bearyena is nearby again. The Ape comes back. The baby bearyena turns into an angry adult. We have three assailants now. Blanche and Bonnuit protect Croissant while Zach hatches a getaway plan. Blanche and Bonnuit are killed by the bearyenas. The Ape tries to go after Zach but he loops around to protect baby Croissant from the birds. The bearyenas kill Croissant. The Ape kills Zach. Rest in peace, my tribe.

In Memory of Lionne Loving Daughter and Niece Gone Too Soon

A teen, Bonnuit, is invited in. A bearyena again appears; Cleo tries to defend her child, but the bearyena evades her and murders little Lionne. Cleo gets her revenge but it is, of course, too late. Cleo and Bonnuit have a daughter, Blanche. Unfortunately, a spiky-bodied rogue impregnates her directly after, robbing her of another child with Bonnuit (she doesn't have enough time left to have 2 kids). A bat-winged wanderer, Bella, is found. Cleo has her final child, Zach.

our starter, Violet Violet quickly finds a berry bush and spends some time there. The day she becomes an adult she discovers Batrick and they mate. The pair finds a perma nest and Batrick beats the heck out of a bird. Batrick gets the sleeping sickness but his wife has a daughter, Cleo. There's a wanderer, Pipbi, around but he can't be invited in yet because we're low on food. Theodore is born as a bearyena is heard on the shore. Cleo is impregnanted by a rogue male. Ipbi can be heard getting attacked by the bearyena. Another wanderer appears but she's old and we still don't have extra food. The bearyena kills the female wanderer and next, Violet. The family flees. Batrick dies of old age. The bearyena seems to be lost and siblings gather food from twin bushes. Cleo's rogue baby, Lionne, is born. Another rogue appears nearby.

I'm gonna do another AHVHC and document it here! if the tribe dies I may start a new one and continue it here. this is using my AHVHC 2.0 which is still in the works. if it's too easy/too hard I may make a new save with tweaked settings/rules.

i wish we could have defender bears back (even if you had to enable it in sandbox settings) because they made so much drama
