So, weird title, I know, but I do need help with drawing dragon talons. The only thing i can do with them is just normally standing(Adding image on the bottom for example).

So, can anybody help me know how to draw talons doing different positions. Specifically holding things. It would be very helpful! :D

-Thank you ❤️

UH I have help right here :D

Usually I draw my talons as either a sort of oval shape with points at the end, or like the one with red and blue, where it's split into two parts and I can move the parts around.

Oooo.. I can help! prepare for a tutorial.

First, I recommend to start with a starting point..  like a circle... 1462650708_Screenshot_20220706-134500_ibisPaintX.thumb.jpg.242f8dbc6ba94e6c1e9f201abb3cd55a.jpg

Then from that circle, kinda go for a hand-ish shape... so look at your fingers for reference, to see how they move and how they connect to your hand. 368129365_Screenshot_20220706-134541_ibisPaintX.thumb.jpg.bedc0ef11efa1a76e2f15b4e495288a2.jpg

Drawing the thumb further back from the fingers bc... thats how a thumb works... again, using your hand for reference (don't mind my extremely low battery. It can wait. Lol) 330172460_Screenshot_20220706-134553_ibisPaintX.thumb.jpg.fa75945aa3b1cbeaa68939f3f543ba5c.jpg

You should connect the "fingers" with the thumb like this... again, looking at your hand... thats how it goes... 2057070285_Screenshot_20220706-134738_ibisPaintX.thumb.jpg.94f1bc157fce10084aff5a8ce4d8f3ad.jpg

When you make the claws, don't donthis unless it's at an angle... bc you should always add...depth..no that's not the word- just 3d-ness...  this is why you should add a curve too it to make it look a bit more realistic(if you want) 944096741_Screenshot_20220706-134755_ibisPaintX.thumb.jpg.930795cd6c791957a263cb10976d65ab.jpg

See, it looks better. Lol.  Then you connect the "fingers"1511040955_Screenshot_20220706-134929_ibisPaintX.thumb.jpg.1d4517c687de6e597d4abde39318b910.jpg

So it should look smth like this... basically.

So I hope this helped. Lol.

heres what i do :]

first, i make a circle for the wirst and the arm (not important)

then (shown in red) a make a line with a diagonal angle or smtn???

if its standing, the bottom of the talon is flat, if its in the air a draw a wavy line undearneath (shown in blue)

i sometimes add padding to make it look better

also if you struggles to figure out where to put the talons s=just make a bloby shade like fingers all conjoined at once (shown at the bottom) and little circles at the end to show where you wnat it to slant or smtn.
