Genes in Rocks

I know for a fact that sometimes you can get creatures from genes in a big ice block.  This would would similarly, where you have a slight chance of getting a creature with said gene from a rock.  I figure this could be genes that are hard to get normally in biomes that contain rocks.  This could also work if you all ever wanted to add new genes that are rock only in the future.

Adding to this, you would have to find multiple fossils of one gene to unlock a gene.

cool idea! however I find it hard to believe that a living creatures the size of a large cat living inside a rock to be a big stretch, no offense, it's a good idea, but it's a bit out there
