Goggles-kun
Today I'm gonna be experimenting in one of the earliest versions of Niche, which is supposedly harder than the one found today. Here's the link if you want to play it yourself!: Let's get started! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here we have our starter creature, appropriately named "Adam". (After this I closed the game because the window was too big to see the food count whoops) Here we have break-neck Adam again After a while I found a girl named Ramela, but I'm not going to breed her with Adam just yet. (In my first run, I had issues with accidental breeding and incest) And oh nice! She has the ancient berry paw. How adorable. Broke my promise about Ramela not getting pregnant This is her daughter Iskoko! AW JEEZ I BRED RAMELA AND ADAM AGAIN-- oh well, I can wait for the child to be born. OH NO!! How do you thwart these guys off?! I can't attack him! ... Well, sh-- Alright, new run. I gave myself a new paw gene and-- oh? What's this? Is that a claw? I actually checked and it said "Digger's Paw" Speaking of checking things, there's this separate tab called the "Gene Lexicon" (the old Niche equivalent of the Mutation Menu) and... WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN MY ENTIRE LIFE Found another girl that is yet to fall victim to Adam's mess Oh, I pray to the Niche Gods the carnivore doesn't attack us... Sky
huddle up to defend your creatures from predators. I know that you need at least 3 adults in a triangle to ward off the Big Carnivore, so your creatures should survive. Also note that babies don't help give protection, so a triangle of two adults and a baby doesn't work. 1
Sky
Another tip: You know how in the beginning (at least for me...) there are a TON of grass tiles shaking? Get all the wanderers in them. Then you can choose which ones you want to keep. Then just starve the creatures you don't want! And you won't lose any food from this, either! 1
