  1. this is totally understandable. im sorry so many of you live in places where you cant feel safe about your identity. i live in texas so i have a similar issue though as an adult i have a much easier time getting away with it. i wish the best to all of you < 3
  2. dude ive seen people in their SIXTIES figure out their identity. it can literally take your whole life time !! and thats ok!!!
  3. i should say i have definitely changed over the years. in 2016 i was bi, then in 2017 i was a lesbian, then i discovered i was transgender and identified as pan/trans. since then i have gone through pan, gay, pan again, gay again, bi, and now... im back to lesbian. im still trans, just not a trans guy (transmasc nonbinary) so thats my timeline. the only consistent thing about my identity is being asexual LOL
  4. being confused about your identity is totally normal, and the best way to figure things out is to try out labels, pronouns, etc. find what feels most comfortable through experimenting, even if its just a phase or not permanent. you can always change back if you want to!
  5. NEVER BE ASHAMED TO FIND JOY IN SOMETHING!!! I BELIEVE IN YOU !!!!

  8. Days 6-8 The days went by in a blur, and Ziv had given birth to her first litter. She was surprised to have had so many, she had only ever seen litters of three or less in her childhood. "I suppose this is Eve's blessing to us." Viprita purred, gently cleaning his beautiful newborns. "They all look so fierce... And look! These two inherited your digging claws!" Ziv purred as well, holding her kips close and wrapping her tail around them. "I suppose we'll need to name them, hm? Any ideas?" "Well," Viprita tapped his chin with one claw while he thought. "I suppose I have a few..." "Those are beautiful names..." Ziv smiled. "I love them. I love you, I love these kips..." She leaned against Viprita and nuzzled into his fur, letting out a deep sigh. "I can't wait to see what they'll become..." Viprita collected 9 berries over the course of 3 days, making note that the bushes seemed to wither on the third day. Ziv gave birth to 4 kips, two singlets and one set of twins. ----- Day 9 The smell, sound, and feeling rain on their pelts woke the family the next morning. Ziv's younger kips cuddled closer to her side, startled by the unfamiliar sight, and cold droplets of water. Tavi - the oldest of the litter - however, was already exploring outside of the nest. Without hesitating, she had spotted that small rodent from days before, sticking its head out of its burrow again, and pounced into the grasses. She dragged its furry body to her parents with a huge smile on her face, wagging her tail. Tavi had completed her first hunt! "Oh, excellent job, little one!" Ziv cheered with a purr, cleaning the small traces of blood from her face. "I'm so proud of you! Here, have your father prepare us a meal!" Tavi nodded and brought the dead stagmole to Viprita, setting it at his feet happily. Ziv brought him some roots as well, and he made them a delicious meal to share. They all happily slept together, their bellies full and their bodies warm, even despite the rain. Tavi collected 4 meat. Ziv collected 2 roots. ----- Day 10 The next day, her twins had gained their second gem as well, and began to play in the grasses with their older sister. Tavi led them away, smelling another little critter in the grasses that she intended to catch. "Just don't go too far!" Ziv called to them, watching them bound away nervously. "I know it's scary," Viprita comforted his mate. "But we can't keep them cooped up forever. They're strong, despite their age, and they will be fine. Ziv appreciated his words, but was still worried for them. But he was right, she had to let them play and grow. How else would they learn? So, she let them go, but decided to make sure there was food for when they returned. She dug around for some roots while Viprita watched their youngest, Evipri. Viprita collected 3 berries, Ziv collected 4 roots, and Vila collected 2 roots. Vila also discovered a berry bush, while Tavi discovered a new nest and another stagmole den. ----- Day 11 Tavi nudged her brother forward, pointing into the grasses with her claw. He seemed nervous, he had never hunted before. "I know, I know, I need to make my first catch too." He whined, sensing his sister's chastising without her even speaking. "But what if I miss it? That would be so embarrassing!" Tavi simply rolled her eyes and nudged him again, until finally, he gathered his courage and made the jump. He landed on the stagmole with a squeak! and pulled its body out of the grasses to show his sister. "I-I did it! Haha! I made my first hunt!" Tavi excitedly pulled him into a hug and ushered him to show their other sister, Vila. Vila seemed uninterested. She gave the body a sniff, but shrugged. "Eh, I'm a little sick of meat honestly. I'm looking for roots." Tavi simply rolled her eyes again, and pulled Vanka closer, pointing back toward home. "I should... Take this home? Yeah! I should show Mom and Dad!" Tavi nodded excitedly and followed him home. Vila, on the other hand, had better things to do then to parade a dead animal around the place. Her taste was more suited for roots, after trying a few the day she had earned her second gem. And luckily, like her mother, she had the means of which to collect them... And she had just found the jackpot! Meanwhile, back at home, Ziv and Viprita were arguing. "I can't nap now, what about the rest of you?" Ziv barked, digging her claws into the dirt from stress. "What about my babies? I need to make sure they're safe! I have no time to be exhausted!" "My dear, you are exhausted, whether you want to be or not." Viprita sighed. "You just had a litter, and they're all growing very fast. Please, let me take the lead for now, and you get some rest. You need it." Ziv wanted to argue back, but a yawn overtook her, and she sighed in defeat. "Alright... If you insist." She curled up by the shore, digging a 'nest' beneath herself, and watched the waves lap at the ground before her, lulling her into sleep. Viprita sighed in relief, and turned to their youngest, who had now earned his second gem. "Alright, Evipri, your mother is very tired and needs some help. Can you clean up this place a bit? Make it look nice for when she wakes up." The little dok nodded and looked around, starting by picking up their old nest, which seemed to be falling apart already. Ziv collected 2 roots, Viprita collected 3 berries, Evipri collected 5 nesting from his old nest, Vanka collected 4 meat, and Vila collected 2 roots. ----- Day 12 The following morning was... Quiet. Weirdly quiet. The usual sound of scurrying animals, chirping birds, and blowing wind had disappeared. Vanka and Tavi were stuck to each other's side, rotating their ears around in a desperate attempt to find any recognizable, comforting sound. But it was all too quiet. Except... "I hear... Something." Vanka whispered, turning his ears into the grass wall ahead of them. "Something in the water, it sounds... Big? It's moving around real slow." Tavi stepped ahead of him, slowly creeping into the grasses and ducking down so she wasn't immediately visible. She sat with her mouth agape, ears flattened, and nose scrunched up from the terrible scent that wafted around her. Down in the shallow waters, stood a creature she had never seen before... But Ziv and Viprita recognized the stillness. They remembered that terrible silence that settled over their camp, just before tragedy had struck. Ziv, for the first time since she had arrived at this island, was terrified. But she wasn't going to let her family be destroyed. She wouldn't let it happen again. Ziv jumped into the grasses and called for her babies, ushering them toward her with her paws. Vanka listened and ran to her, hiding in the grass behind her. "What's going on? What is that thing?" He whispered, flattening himself to the ground. "A terrible creature you should never approach. You hide with your brother, I'll handle this." Ziv snarled, stepping forward so the only thing between her kips, and the beast, was herself. Tavi, on the other hand, had ran further into the grasses behind her to retrieve her sister. She seemed equally as disturbed by the lack of usual sounds, and when nudged by her sister in an attempt to get her to keep going, she listened, and found a spot beside a rock to hide. Tavi was young, and she had never faced a creature like this, but she knew she was stronger than even her parents. If that creature came after her siblings, it would have to get through her first. Vanka and Evipri hid by the shore, peaking up over the slope to watch their parents in fear. Viprita ran to his mates side with fearfully wide eyes. "Is it really another one...?" He whispered, looking between her and the grass ahead of them. "It is. Tavi and Vanka saw it, and I can smell that rotten beast from here." Ziv stepped ahead of her mate and parted the grasses, looking down at the shore. She couldn't see the creature yet, it must have moved further down, but the smell was stronger than before. She knew it was there, and she hoped it would come for her first, rather than her kips. She flexed her claws and tilted her head forward, ready to attack when it comes up to the slope. Sikoana, grant me strength... -----
  9. Day 0 Ziv and Viprita blinked their eyes open and looked around. They were surprised to still be alive, only vaguely remembering the attack that destroyed their old home. All they can pull from their memory is the sharp claws and even sharper teeth, snapping at their faces and tearing through the flesh of their packmates. They had jumped into the ocean to save themselves, and washed up on the shore of a new island. It wasn't much, but it was their new home. They had no choice. They decided to start making themselves comfortable... Ziv and Viprita spend their first day clearing away the grass. ----- Day 1 When the next morning came, the two decided to wander into the tall grass. Ziv stepped forward first, sniffing the air and ground for any signs of danger. Although she couldn't smell much, she did notice a tasty root just beneath her feet. She decided to dig it up later, as they still had plenty of food stored from their old home. Viprita however, was much less cautious. He jumped over his companion and dove into the grasses, stumbling upon a hole in the ground. The two stayed their distance, but Viprita leaned over and gazed into it. "It smells like something lives here!" Viprita exclaimed. "Then we ought to leave it alone." Ziv decided. And so they left it be. Ziv and Viprita spend their second day stepping into the tall grass. ----- Day 2 The next day, when the two awoke, they felt strange... Different. Viprita noticed his companion was much bigger than him now, and they both realized they had gained their third gems. They jumped in joy, embracing each other and yowling in happiness, but quickly quieted down when they realized just how loud they were being. "Wouldn't want to attract anything undesirable." Said Ziv. As she looked at her partner, she tilted her head to the side. "You're nearly invisible in all this tall grass!" She exclaimed. "I think we should leave it be for now, so we're hidden from any dangers." Ziv agreed and decided to sniff about the place instead, allowing him to uncover a berry bush near them. They were both so excited! This meant they had a steady source of food already! Viprita decided to pick all he could carry, and to celebrate, Ziv dug up the nearby roots to have a feast with her friend. "Of all the people to be stuck on an island with, I'm glad it's you." Ziv collected 4 roots, and Viprita collected 2 berries. ----- Day 3 The sound of a small critter nearby woke the two. Startled, they both jumped from their sleeping spots and watched the patch of grass carefully, waiting for whatever it was to jump out. Viprita sniffed the air, and lifted his head in curiosity. "It smells like prey!" He whispered. "And I don't think it knows we're here!" "I'll investigate, since I'm stronger." Ziv growled, carefully stepping forward. Viprita stepped back and watched as the pren jumped into the grass, slamming her claw down on the small brown creature with a squeak! "You were right!" She held her head high, proudly. "I guess we've got dinner!" Ziv collected the creature's body and began to skin it, using it's pelt as bedding for their sleeping spots. Viprita decided to continue collecting berries. He used his claw to squeeze the berries into a paste, which he put over the meat they shared. Ziv laughed, admiring his interest in preparing food. "I'm going to find all the food on this island for you to play with. I want to see all the things you can make." Ziv purred, and the two cuddled into their dreams. Ziv collected 4 pieces of meat, and Viprita collected 3 berries. ----- Day 4 On their fourth day, they were greeted with a pleasant drizzle. The two had gotten their fair share of water already, with having to swim this far and all, but were still thankful for the replenishing qualities it had on bushes. Ziv decided to spend today exploring some more. She could smell a small animal off in the distance, but wasn't sure if she could catch up before it bounded away. She decided to follow it anyways, and on her exploration, she uncovered a nest! "It must be long abandoned." She whispered to herself, sniffing around the edges. "There's not a scent on it." She could, however, smell the same small animal in the dirt mound nearby. She determined this must be their nest, but she couldn't fit her claws inside to grab anything. She instead turned her attention to the bush beside the nest. "What a perfect place for a family..." She thought wistfully. "Viprita will love this." The dok in question decided to let his friend explore on her own, and stayed behind to gather berries. He knew she could hold her own, especially with those large ram horns atop her head. Ziv discovered a permanent nest, bunnil den, and berry bush. Viprita collected 3 berries. ----- Day 5 Ziv awoke to the sounds of a frightened Viprita, and leaped to his side to investigate. "What's going on!?" She exclaimed, looking him over to make sure he wasn't injured. All the scared dok could do was point toward the grass wall in front of him, shaking in terror while hiding under his berry bush. Ziv took a step forward, her head tilted down so her horns were ready to ram into whatever was there, and she sniffed the air calmly. It was unlike anything she had ever smelled before. It was light and flowery, like the small, harmless animals that bounded through their old fields. But this creature was huge, and it seemed to not be paying any attention to the two nichelings behind it. Instead, it was pulling blades of grass from the ground and chomping on them, occasionally stopping to let out a low groan or scratch itself. "I... I think it's harmless?" Ziv reassured Viprita. "I think if we leave it alone, it'll do the same for us." Viprita nodded slowly, carefully stepping out from underneath his bush, but decided to stay on the other side for now. "Well, I guess now I can show you what I found yesterday!" Ziv was excited, and bounded back to her uncovered nest, presenting it to him excitedly. "Ta-da! What do you think?" She purred. "It's... Amazing!" Viprita smiled, settling between his bush and the new one. "I can't believe we've found a brand new nest... With plenty of food around it as well!" "It's the perfect place to start a family... Wouldn't you think?" Ziv smiled, settling in her new nest. "This place has everything we could ever need... Everything our new pack could need." Viprita's fur felt hot, and he looked to the side bashfully. He always had a silly little crush on his friend, but he had always assumed it was just that; a crush and nothing more. He hadn't thought she would have ever reciprocated. But now, he realized how silly that was. Of course she liked him too, why else would she have jumped into the waters after him? Or chosen him over every other kip during play time? "I... I'd like that. I'd like to start a family with you." Ziv beamed with joy, and pulled her new mate into a hug, purring loudly and peppering his face with kisses. For a brief moment, they had both forgotten their old home, and could only think about their new future. Viprita gathered 2 berries. Ziv gathered 4 roots, and prepared for her first litter. ----- Eve... Please, Eve... If you can hear me... Please grant our kips with the strength to defend themselves. Please give them courage and kindness to protect their pack. Please make them sweet and full of imagination. And Salem... Protect them from the dangers in the grasses. Protect them from the beasts that tore our home apart. Protect them from the new dangers this island has to offer us. In any situation, I will give you my life for theirs. Ziv's mutation menu has been set to Megaloceros Horns, and Spot Pattern. Viprita's mutation menu has been set to Big Body and Auburn Pelt Color.
  10. got suddenly inspired to do a playthrough so here we go Claws of Conquest is a challenge playthrough in which you must conquer every island. To conquer an island you must uncover every tile of grass, destroy any/all obstacles (e.g. rocks, bushes, cacti) and finally bring your leading pair to the ports to conquer new lands. Here are my settings: And then my gene settings: Some self-imposed rules: - Breeding pairs get exactly one mutation slot, and the other one gets randomized using this wheel. The chosen gene is based off of the current story. (e.g. if my breeding pair endured a harsh famine, they may choose a collecting-related gene.) - Only breeding pairs get colored gems. They change every generation and cycle through all of my colors until we get to the start again. (My color list is red, orange, yellow, blue, purple, pink, black, and white. We do not use green.) - Breeding pairs have their kips in "litters". Litters are determined by having the female birth three times in a row. If the fertility of either nicheling causes them to fail three times, there will be no litter. (one or two times, and the resulting litter will be smaller. e.g. if you fail once you only birth twice.) The pair then cannot have any more kips until the litter has grown completely. - Females who fall in love with rogue males must be exiled. They can then be killed accordingly. - Bearyena are food, not friends. We hunt and eat anything that comes across our path. - Outsiders are welcome into the pack only if they can contribute in some way. If not, they will be attacked on sight. Might come up with some more rules later, we'll see. For now, here are my starters, and I'll start this playthrough in the rest of the thread. Edit: Forgot a few things. For starters, if you're interested in the Gods/Goddesses featured in this playthrough, check out this toyhouse folder. Secondly, you may see a bunch of words in reference to the nichelings that are unrecognizable. Here's a brief vocabulary sheet for future reference: Kip - Baby nicheling Pren - Female Dok - Male Neb - Two-Gem nicheling Dechina - Winged nicheling
