A thing I noticed while making some new challenges with sandbox mode is that in the forbidden genes, I didn't see bat wing. I was thinking that maybe the devs just forgot to add it in but it still didn't spawn on starters. Little did I know that was not the case. I have gotten 2 savefiles where one of the starters got a bat wing, on story mode and sandbox mode. Sadly, both of the saves are deleted now but I do have a screenshot. As you can see, the Eve not only has bat wing, but also peacock tail. Another gene that is forbidden. I have also gotten an Eve with a bird beak hidden in her genes. Not sure if these are bugs, or just something to help out new players to tell them about the really rare genes. That's all I have for now.

Try to make a tribe full of only kiwi birds and platypuses. Every creature that doesn't have the bird beak or platypus bill shall be banished. Also name the savefile "Homo Erectus". Start on archipelago or a jungle island depending on whether you want more platypuses or kiwis. Name the babs after types of birds.

I once had an albino heat-bodied (ayy) derp snout boi invited into my tribe and he helped us reach peak FOOD! Sadly he was sick so I pulled an emergency female on em and then after he died his son was named after him lol

Heyo ya'll, this is where I'll post all of my niche discoveries. Feel free to comment down your discoveries so I can add them! Discoveries in making: Completed Discoveries: The type of paw that the mother passes on to her offspring is actually the top paw when viewing a creature's genetics. Take for instance this screenshot right here. The Eve in the photo has 2 nimble fingers, while Adam has 2 runner legs. The offspring shown here has a nimble fingers gene on the top, with a runner leg on the bottom. Along with that, from our point of view the top paw will always be on the right and bottom paw always on the left. Now, this picture also shows another discovery: Eve carries genes that don't appear on normal starters (not sure if this is a bug). In the photo, the offspring is carrying a bird beak, which Adam doesn't have. So, that means that Eve carries the bird beak in her genes, which doesn't appear on normal starters. Not only that, but I once had an Eve with the bat wing. Moving on to another discovery.. This nicheling without ears! When using the console and changing the bat head to another snout, the ears will not appear on the snout. The only snout that does not lose its ears is the bat head. This is a bug, but a bug caused by the console. And, since we aren't actually supposed to use the console, this might never get fixed. (DM me if you want to see all the ear less snouts)

Hey so um, managed to "save" the tribe in 3-4 days? I found a loophole where I made the "worthless" tribemates gather up lots of food before I eventually banished them. I'm not very sure if this counts as a victory, but it's worth trying. Here's the savefile: Slot1.nichesave

Ok.. I'm super sorry. What you're probably thinking right now:

Well, let's start this off. The flying serpent would be a prey entity that eats rabbils but can also be hunted down by your own creatures. There are 3 variants (for now, at least): Normal, burning savanna/oasis and jungle. The flying serpents would not spawn in cold biomes because snakes are cold-blooded creatures, meaning they would freeze in those biomes. Each Flying Serpent would drop 3 pieces of food, except the jungle variant which would drop 4 pieces of food. Rabbils run away from flying serpents. Anyways, let's talk about the types of flying serpents. Normal: Normal flying serpents appear in every biome that is mainly grassland (islands that have mixtures of multiple biomes still count.) These guys would be non-venomous. They would require a 2 in strength in order to be killed. They would move every time your creatures move, and try hunting rabbils by jumping next to or on the tile the rabbils are, and then using the next turn you make with your nichelings to attack the rabbil, and the next turn to grab the meat. They would be able to go on trees. Savanna/oasis: Dessert flying serpents appear on the Burning Savanna and Oasis islands. These guys would be venomous. If a nicheling with an attack lower than 3 (the amount of strength needed to kill them) tries to attack them, the serpent will poison them. This does not work if the nicheling has a point in venom or poison. They would function the same as normal flying serpents, except that they have 1 point in camouflage due to their pattern and coloring. Jungle/Swamp: Jungle flying serpents appear on all jungle and swamp islands. These are the deadliest serpents out of all the other variants and would require a 4 in strength in order to be killed. If a nicheling with strength lower than 4 tries to kill them, the serpent will constrict that nicheling and the nicheling will be paralyzed. The only way to free the nicheling is to get a creature to attack the serpent. The nicheling must at least have a 1 in strength in order to attack the serpent. If the tribemates fail to attack the snake, the nicheling who is being constricted will take damage. They function as normal flying serpents, but they would go on trees a lot less.
