  1. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to look like that. The previous texture looked too much like a Jungle port. This one doesn't look like any of the other ports, so I assume that it's supposed to look like this. Besides, it looks  like it would go to a Whale Island.

Since the more customization options for sandbox mode thread has so many upvotes, I think it is almost certain to be implemented into the game, in which case new weather types could be a toggleable feature. Whether or not to include new weather types in story mode, like Skysplash8 said, would probably be up to the developers to decide.

I actually did not consider this, and I do not know what to do about it. Reduced sight is such an important part of fog, and being without it would be a shame. Even if the reduced sight was -1 instead of -2, it would still render shortsighted nichelings blind. Should it just not reduce sight at all?

Maybe it would basically make everyone only be able to see one tile in front of them-- normal eyesight would act like Shortsighted Eyes, and then Shortsighted Eyes and Blind Eyes would act the same as they do right now.

I have an idea to propose. If the devs made it so you can move in the smell and hearing modes only fog (and if you’re blind, but that’s another story), then this wouldn’t be that big of an issue. There could also be other genes to increase sight. I’ve seen people suggest firefly tails and angler fish heads which may be enhanced in the fog.

I completely forgot about my Firefly Tail xD Yeah, those two genes would help out a lot in fog!

  3. I wanted a creature that has sheep wool, so what better combination of animals than Wolf + Sheep? This creature has no name yet, so please suggest some :D (I'll call it a Wolf-Sheep for now)

Appearance: Wolf snout, sheep eyes but on front of face, sheep ears, sheep wool (body), wolf tail, front legs have paws, back have hooves. Regular version has a gray color palette, while Arctic versions are white.

    15301156429511246023115.thumb.jpg.753f257a4c02be27513285d4bd3b4e59.jpg

    1530115688845840758877.thumb.jpg.36e311ff48f1926f5a48a73ff9cbee7f.jpg

Behavior: Spawns in groups of 3-5, and very rarely in groups of 2 or less.  Attacks on sight, but if in groups of 2 or less, they will flee. Eats/attacks Rabbils, Bearyenas (If it's in a group of 2 or less, it will only attack babies/teens), Rogue Males, wanderers, Arctic Ramfoxes, Balance Bears (Only if it's in a group of 5) (maybe?), and your very own creatures. If there's 2 or less of them, they will only attack Rabbils and Baby Nichelings (including wanderer ones!). I'm not sure if they would move every turn you make (like Rabbils) or when the day passes (like Bearyenas).

    Habitats/Islands they live on:.

Normal Version: Peaceful Meadow(?), Grass Adventure, First Snow, Grass Mingle, Summer Mountains, Deadly Hills

Arctic Version: First Snow, Summer Mountains, Long Winter, Frost Lands

    Stats:

    2 Speed

    2 Attack

    3 Smelling

    2 Hearing

    2 Sight

    3 Cold Resistance

    Lifespan: 20 Days

    Drops: 15 Food

Possible feature for this creature: Hybridization! Occasionally, in a pack of 2 or more Wolf-Sheep, a pup/lamb (plamb? Lup?) will spawn with them. If all of its pack members are killed off, the baby can be invited into the tribe like a baby Bearyena. Once the Wolf-Sheep grows up, they can be bred with (they're always male). The Wolf-Sheep would act like a Friendly Bearyena in terms of breeding. However, the Friendly Wolf-Sheep would stay close to the tribe, and if a female breeds with him, he will follow her (if a different female breeds with him afterwards, he will follow her instead) (If his mate dies, he'll go back to simply staying close to the tribe). If bred with, the following genes can be obtained (all unlocked in mutation menu by inviting a creature with it active into your tribe):

    Woolly Body:

    +2 Cold Resistance

    -2 Heat Resistance

    +2 Defense

Woolly Body would look, well, woolly. It insulates pretty well, so it's good against the cold, and since there's so much wool in between an attacker and the skin, it would somewhat protect the creature from attacks.

    Wolf-Sheep Paw:

    +either 1 or 2 Speed

    20180627_105359.thumb.jpg.1b98fb5c999eef33b224432444a2d26e.jpg

    Wolf-Sheep Hind-legs/Hooves:

    +2 Speed

    +1 Swimming

    +1 Strength20180627_105344.thumb.jpg.5a9dc6c4b65b4de44e2ba1133220b7a2.jpg

    Wolf-Sheep Snout:

    +2 Strength

    +3 Smelling

    +1 Fishing

Basically Big Snout with sheep nostrils and tiny fangs to bite with.

    15301154561581794973146.thumb.jpg.2a35bdb90d5a172f1af28095c6f8fc86.jpg

    Wolf-Sheep Ears:

    +2 Hearing

Wow, what a surprise! Another cosmetic ear gene! (Picture above)

And last but not least, the Woolly Tail:

    +2 Cold Resistance

    -1 Heat Resistance

(Another picture is included in the Woolly Body picture)

    15301155550171744503254.thumb.jpg.cd31bb37644e475737a9a0f3fa3bbfc4.jpg

Combining all the Wolf-Sheep genes, they make up these stats:

    4 Cold Resistance

    -3 Heat Resistance

    2 Defense

    3 Strength

3/5 Speed (depending on how much speed paws give)

    1 Swimming

    3 Smelling

    1 Fishing

I spent an hour trying to figure this creature out and another hour drawing its pictures so it better get some votes xD

  4. @Ancestor Nature If sight is reduced by 2, then nobody can see anything! (Normal eyesight gives sight, if you take away 2, that's 0, making them pretty much blind)

Also, for the thunderstorms, maybe if lightning hits a tree, it will turn into a burnt stump? (It would set it on fire as well)

For hail, maybe if the creature has 1+/2+ Defense, they wouldn't be able to get stunned?

Since the color in game incompletely dominant, I can only assume you meant either the top color is “dominant” and the bottom color is “recessive”, or the regular color’s “dominant” and the pattern color’s “recessive".

    3 minutes ago, MysticTopaz said:

By dominant fur color I mean the color on the top, and the recessive on the bottom. For example, a pink nicheling with white on top and red on bottom would have segments 1 and 3 as white and segment 2 as red. Patterns aren't related to this, so you can still have all the pattern options of the other bodies.

But what about color combinations?? You wouldn't be able to have  a pink Nicheling with Wings because you have to have red + white, but you can't have that when you have Butterfly body. I think it would be better if it was something like the top and bottom bits are the fur color (both colors combined) and the middle part the pattern color (both colors combined), like @Pokestardragacraft said. Patterns on the pattern colored part would just not show up.

Even better than this, it could just all be the same color. Then we wouldn't have weirdly colored body parts.

Edit- Now there's none.. R.I.P. Awesome Bluebirds of Healing Fruit Island, residence of the Kikonoko Tribe. (There's a LOT of Healing Fruits there)

If the tribe starts out with extra food this could be a great idea!

If the Sandbox Customizations is added, then we could possibly choose how much food we want to start off with, which would be great if we want to choose to start off with more creatures as well :D

maybe you can pick them up and drop them in different places so that you can make a cluster of them? this would great for farming because you could for example move them to an area where the bunnies have difficulty getting to them, like a cluster of rocks or a small island in the middle of nowhere

Good idea, and it would make sense, but I'm just not sure how it will work with Niche... But maybe this can fit if Niche will have more this kind of elements like scruff carrying... :) I think it could maybe be like this:

Baby animals can't pick it and drop it. Just adult animals can. And if you pick it when it's not fullgrown, it would never grow up. And you can't place the carrot back to its growing hole.

It would be fun to see nicheling holding carrot in its mouth. Especially with bearyena snout. XD Maybe just some snouts would have the picking ability?

But what would be the point of it? Yeah, maybe it could be used for role-playing purposes like making a food pile, but at a survival standpoint, it doesn't do anything---you might as well put it in the food stores so your creatures can eat it.

  9. In my favorite tribe (the Kikonokos), we have some pretty weird Bluebirds. First of all, there's three of them.Niche2018Kikonoko3Bluebirds.thumb.png.18ba2d28384b398faac9f28fb37fe8ce.png

    Two of them are friends...Niche2018KikonokoBlueJays.thumb.png.d67b41d3a392f378e51f41c81718d31e.png

...and two are enemies. (Bluebird Battles!)Niche2018BluebirdBattles.thumb.png.da18eae30fd88afd7bb2db7f629188c8.png

And now they're circling a tree. What's going on with these three??Niche2018BluebirdCircle.thumb.png.8e431e353de522e8037dd4c71f6a63ce.png

Meanwhile, the Stagmoles are having parties because these birds don't seem to care about them. Niche2018StagmoleParty1.thumb.png.34ad85033a94a4efdae9545176eeb366.png

Note: THESE ARE ALL THE SAME BLUEBIRDS. I think they're becoming more civilized because they live above 28 (Yes, 28, I overbred) Nichelings with some weird naming traditions.

  10. Maybe this could be another thing that would be toggleable? That way players who just want to play the game like it is now can do that, but if someone wants to play with the affinities, they can. That way people who rush through the game can do that, but people who want to role-play with their creatures can have a new feature to use :D

  11. I suggest:

If creature doesn't have double wings:

    +1 Speed

    +1 Attack

    +1 Swimming

    If creature has double wings:

    +2 Fishing

    +2 Attack

In this way, it acts just like Bearyena Hindlegs on a land creature, but if they have double Wings, then it's a lot better! :D

  12. It would be cool if there was an option to choose how much food your creatures eat every day. It would be best if this was a toggle-able thing that you can do in-game, that way if you have a bunch of food and you want it to be more of a challenge, you could make it where each Nicheling eats 2 food a day instead of 1. I imagine it to be a little bar that would go 1----2----3----4----5----etc. with a little thing that you can move to whichever number you want, which wold be how much food a creature eats when the day passes.

  13. More creatures! Woo!

Fishstar, leader of.. er, no Clan name as of yet, but her daughter (Coconutstar! Woo!) became leader and after the next one (Bluestar!) her grandson (Deerstar!) became leader as well!

    Niche2018Fishstar.thumb.png.934bd51a0d44e4877194c455235a756c.png

Tuliptail, daughter of Fishstar and mother of the newest leader, Deerstar!Niche2018Tuliptail.thumb.png.8942335be0349a5e99c33c6e3bed6035.png

This little guy who was found drowning in the river and saved by the courageous warrior Sunshade! (Deerstar's brother-in-law---seen with meat at his paws) (other warrior is Spottail, a son of Deerstar) (Yeah, Deerstar is pretty much related to everybody)Niche2018WarriorsDuckkit.thumb.png.5b509b9ac21ab153300d449c4cdfd3d7.png

This little baby, Nightkit, who' melanistic and has Peacock Tail! (She's named after a black Nicheling who also had Peacock Tail who died the day Nightkit was born)

    Niche2018WarriorsNightkit1.thumb.png.9f75e655119dd9bebfd679b21428320c.png

And finally, this guy, who somehow didn't make it into my other post-- The famed Meringue of the Kikonoko Tribe, the sickly but noble Nicheling who is on my profile picture. His descendants are spread throughout (probably) the entire tribe, but he was the last to have Ram Horns, which was quite common when his mother was a child, but the antlers soon took over (He was also the last to have spots as well). Unfortunately, I do not have a picture of his genes, because by the time I really liked him, he was already dead (that was when I took the picture), and by the time I wanted a photo of his genes, his children had all passed away, which meant he was kicked off the Family Tree (please oh PLEASE let us see more of it in a future update). I can't even tell what tail he had :(
